Objective To observe the osteogenic and/or chondrogenic differentiation potential of cartilage endplate derived stem cells ( CESCs) .Methods The cartilage endplate ( CEP) was obtained from 5 patients who underwent posterior discectomy procedure for the lumber degenerative disease.The agarose culture was used to select CESCs.The expanded CESCs were injected into the hydroxyapatite ceram-ic(HA) and incubated for 7 days.After that,the HA contained CESCs were implanted into the subcutaneous of nude mouse for 7 weeks.Then the HA was obtained and sliced for the specific stain and immunohistochemisty.The expanded CESCs were injected into the degenerated in-tervertebral disk of the rabbit for 16 weeks.Then MRI was used to detect the repair of the degenerated disc.Results The metachromasia of toluidin blue indicated that cartilage matrix was formed in the vacant space of HA.Mallory stain indicated that there was bone matrix was formed.The results of immunohistochemistry indicated that there was more collageⅠand collageⅩ,and a small quantity of collage Ⅱ.MRI results indicated that the CESCs could be induced into the chondrocyte-like cells in the rabbit intervertebral disk.Conclusion The CESCs could be induced into the bone/cartilage in vivo.

The clinical comprehensive ability is the core of the cultivation of professional degree graduate tralning. It includes the ability of clinical analysis, the ability of clinical operation and the ability of clinical communication, which is compatible with the core of the evaluation of post compe-tency in knowledge, technology and attitude. Teaching Section of Internal Medicine of the First Clinical College of Harbin Medical University combined the professional Degree Graduate tralning with the resident tralning with the post competency as the direction. We adopted a series of effective methods such as strict management of clinical rotation and multiple dimensioned evaluation system. We organized clinical discussion and set up clinical skill tralning course and standardize teaching ward inspection et al. to improve the comprehensive clinical ability of the postgraduates. The formative evaluation and summative assessment were combined in department rotation examination and the feedback system was set up. By the above tralning, the comprehensive clinical ability of the postgraduates has improved effectively, which can match the level of the first phrase resident physician. Combined with the tralning of other department, the postgraduates can be qualified for the general physician.

Iron uptake mechanism of Vibrio alginolyticus was primarily investigated. V.alginolyticus could survive in the medium with high-concentration iron chelator. The strain of V. alginolyticus isolated from diseased fish produced more siderophore than that from marine environment. The extract of siderophore from V. alginolyticus could stimulate the growth of Escherichia coli mutant AN93. Under iron limitation,the growth rate was decreased and several outer membrane proteins were induced. Adding iron into the iron-limited medium the normal growth could be recovered.

Objective To investigate early diagnosis, clinical effect of surgical treatment and prognosis of a-cute appendicitis in elderly. Methods The clinical data of acute appendicitis in elderly undergoing surgical therapy between January 1994 and November 2008 was analyzed retrospectively, and predisposing factors, diagnostic meth-ods, therapeutic effect of operation and prognosis were studied. Results Acute appendicitis in elderly was diagnosed in 276 cases(114 female/162 male). There were 7 cases of deaths. MoRality was 2.5% (7/276). Stitches were taken out from 6 to 8 days after operation. Average stay was 8 days. 196 cases(71.0%) of wound healing at grade A, 43 cases(15.6%) at grade B ,37 cases(13.4%) at grade C. 86 cases(31.2%) with perforated acute appendici-tis, and 7 cases(2.5%) with periappendiceal abscess were confirmed after operation. 76 cases auompanied with con-comitant diseases, 87 cases auompanied with postoperative early complications, and 39 cases(14.1%) with postop-erative wound or intra-abdominal septic complications. Conclusion Key point of improvement of operative therapeu-tic effect and prognosis of acute appendicitis in elderly are early diagnosis, operation in time, and effective treatment of associated diseases and complications.

Objective To analyze etiopathogenisis, diagnosis and treatment of the aged with bowel obstruction. Methods The clinical data of 168 cases with bowel obstruction, whose age were more than 60 years,in our hospital from 1998 to 2007 were reviewed retrospectivly. Results In all the cases,32 patients' original disease were abdomenal hernia,6 patients were mesenteric vascular thrombus,75 patients were bowel tumor, 12 patients were feces,18 patients were false colonic obstruction and 25 patients were ankylenteron. 114 cases (67.68%) received operation,43 patients (25.59%) received expectant treatment and 11cases received colonofiberscope therapy. 138 cases (81.55%) were cured without any complication. 25 cases(14. 88%) had this or that kind of complication. 5 cases (2. 98%) were dead. Conclusion Firstly, the regular original disease of the aged with bowel obstruction were bowel tumor. Secondly,most elderly patients with bowie obstruct should be cured after operations. Thirdly,the aged with bowel obstruction would have higher complication rate,which should attract our enough attention.

Effect of ginsenoside total saponin (GTS) on the regulation of P450 of livers of rats after γ-ray irradiation was studied. Rats were irradiated by the ⁶⁰Coγ-ray for one-time dose of 5.5 Gy, dose rate of 117.1-119.2 cGy. The cocktail probe, qPCR and Western blot were used to detect expression of enzymatic activites, mRNA and protein of rats. Contrasted with blank group, expression of CYP1A2, 2B1, 2E1, 3A4 of irradiation group showed a up-regulated (P < 0.05). Contrasted with irradiation group, exprression of CYP1A2, 2B1, 2E1, 3A4 of GTS group showed a downward trend. GTS had negative agonistic action against expression of P450 of rats by irradiatied.

Based on the teaching practice of literature retrieval of pharmaceutical subject in our school,the paper introduces the rationality of content design,using problem-based learning teaching mode,the connection of practice contents and special subject learning contents,improving the examine mode,offering computer operation and practice,in order to improve the students' comprehensive ability to do scientific research.

RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the LATS2 mRNA and protein level in 57 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC)specimens and 12 normal oral mucosa tissues.LATS2 mRNA and protein were expressed in all the normal oral mucosa samples (100%),but only 47.4% (27 /57)and 42.1% (24 /57)in OSCC samples respectively with positive correlation of both(P <0.01),and were respectively correlated with the tumor differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis(P <0.05).

Objective To evaluate the effect of controlling cost by introducing hand hygiene products with lower price on promoting hand hygiene compliance.Methods The application status and cost of hand hygiene products in 2012 was as pre-intervention group,2013 was as post-intervention group.Effective and lower price hand hygiene products were introduced in 2013,consumption and cost of hand hygiene products before and after the intervention was compared.Results Consumption of hand hygiene products per patient-day before and after the intervention was significantly different ([10.56±16.46]mL vs [13.79 ± 16.93 ]mL,Z=4.14,P <0.01 );cost of hand hygiene products per patient-day before and after the intervention was not significantly different ([1 .23 ±2.07]yuan vs [0.92±0.59]yuan,P >0.05).Conclusion Introduction of hand hygiene products with lower price in this hospital can improve hand hygiene compliance to certain degree without increasing the cost of hand hygiene.
