International Journal of Surgery 2021;48(3):145-148,F3
Breast-contour preservation(BCP)encompasses all strategies to preserve the contour of the breast following breast-conserving surgery (BCS) and immediate postmastectomy breast reconstruction (IBR). With the continuous advancement of breast surgery, postoperative outcomes and quality of life of breast cancer patients have been significantly improved. Previous studies reported on BCP as a new comprehensive parameter for evaluating outcomes of breast cancer treatment. Based on preoperative comprehensive evaluation of patients′ general condition, characteristic of breast tumor, and breast morphology, individualized surgical strategy is formulated to improve BCP for early-stage breast cancer and improve postoperative outcomes of patients. Combined with the morphological characteristics of Chinese women′s breasts, breast contour can be preserved not only by BCS and IBR, but also by nipple-areola complex-sparing mastectomy in some breast cancer patients, thereby reducing psychosomatic impact as a result of losing breast mound.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(6):535-538
ObjectiveTo explore composition rules of suppress cough prescriptions.MethodsThe suppress cough prescriptions in “The New National Medicine” were collected to build a database based on Traditional Chinese medicine inheritance assist system. Themethods of association rules with apriori algorithm and complex system entropy cluster were used to achieve the frequency of medicines and association rules between drugs.ResultsThe data-mining results indicated that themostfrequentlyused drugs wereRadix Glycyrrhizae, Platycodon grandiflorum, Semen armeniacae amarae, Ephdra vulgaris, Dried tangerine or orange peel. The most frequent drug combinations were “Radix Glycyrrhizae, Platycodon grandiflorum”, “Radix Glycyrrhizae, Semen armeniacae amarae”, “Radix Glycyrrhizae, Dried tangerine or orange peel” and so on. The drugs with a high degree confidence coefficient of association rules include “Dried tangerine or orange peel, the root bark of white mulberry”, “Dried tangerine or orange peel, Snakegourd Seed”. The new prescription that we can get composited by Fructus AurantiiwasAngelica decursiva, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, the root bark of white mulberry.ConclusionFrom the analysis above, we could conclude that the drugs insuppress cough prescriptions havemoreeffects ofrelieving superficies, clearing heat and drying dampness, ventilating the lung and resolving phlegm, nourishingYinand supplementingQi.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical efficacy of the arthroscopic Mender II stapler for the treatment of patients with meniscus anterior horn injury needing meniscal suture repair.
METHODSAmong 47 patients with meniscus anterior horn injury, 29 patients were male and 18 patients were female, ranging in age from 12 to 31 years old, with a mean age of (20.53± 4.12) years old. The duration of disease ranged from 3 to 35 days, and the average duration was (12.43±5.74) days. The Mender II stapler was used to carry out arthroscopic suture from outside to inside. The Lysholm knee scoring system was used to evaluate and analyze preoperative and postoperative symptoms, such as pain, limping embolism and so on.
RESULTSForty-six patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 12 to 48 months, with a mean of (20.53±4.12) years. The incision healed at the first stage without important vessels and nerves injuries. The symptoms of the locked knee joint disappeared, and symptoms such as pain, limp, swelling and limitation of activity improved. The Lysholm score increased from preoperative 52.33±7.31 to postoperative 86.74±6.92.
CONCLUSIONUsing Mender II stapler to treat patients with meniscus anterior horn injury who were treated with arthroscopic suture from outside to inside is effective to improve symptoms, and to obtain good short-term results.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(1):94-97
This paper aims at discussing the clinical characteristics and experiences of ZHU Lian, the renowned contemporary acupuncture master from the following three aspects: "characteristics of clinical manipulations and techniques", "thoughts on diagnosis and treatment" and "examples of clinical cases". The study has shown that ZHU Lian invented the slow insertion technique by rotating needle and the embedding needle technique, improved moxibustion technique with moxa roll and proposed the three keys on the treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion, as well as discovered new acupoints for treatment. The pioneering and distinguished achievements she con tributed play the great demonstrating and driving role in the development of clinical study and practice of acupuncture and moxibustion.

Objective To explore the normal range of serum uric acid in quails.Method The data were collect-ed from male and female quails of different strains in 11 experiments, and analyzed by the way of medical reference value. Result The mean value of serum uric acid of male Difake strain quails was (221.06 ±79.59)μmol/L,and the normal range was (87.32 to 382.34)μmol/L.The mean value of serum uric acid of female Difake strain quails was (189.85 ± 68.58)μmol/L, and the normal range was ( 72.72 to 369.73 )μmol/L.The mean value of serum uric acid of male Longcheng strain quails was (217.22 ±72.91)μmol/L,and the normal range was (82.92 to 360.24)μmol/L.The mean value of serum uric acid of female Longcheng strain quails was ( 197.27 ±66.84 )μmol/L, and the normal range was (95.36 to 348.73)μmol/L.The serum uric acid value of female quails was significantly lower than that of male quails. There was no significant difference in the value of serum uric acid between female and male quails from each day-age groups. Conclusions This study has established the normal ranges for serum uric acid in quails of different strains and genders.

ObjectiveTo identify the factors influencing the transfer of porcine endogenous retroviruses across the membrane of a new bioartificial liver (BAL),which is a necessary caution to consider for BALs carrying porcine hepatocytes.MethodsA novel porcine BAL composed of two circuits was constructed using a plasma filter with membrane pore size of 500 nm and a plasma component separator with membrane pore sizes 10 nm,20 nm,30 nm,and 35 nm.Co-cultured cells of porcine hepatocytes and mesenchymal stem cells or single porcine hepatocytes were incubated in the bioreactors. The BAL was continuously worked for 72 hours during which the supernatant was collected from the internal and external circuits every 12 hours.PERV RNA,reverse transcriptase (RT) activity, and in vitro infectivity from the supernatant were detected.ResultsIn the plasma filter group, the PERV RNAlevels were the same in both circuits, suggesting little to no effect of the plasma filter on the PERV RNA's crossing. With plasma component separators,PERV RNA was found in the external circuits at different times without positive RT activity and HEK293 cell infection, but its level was reduced significantly. The larger the membrane pore size was,the earlier and the more RNA was detected.ConclusionsThe membrane pore size, the treatment time and the viral level in the internal circuit are contributing factors influencing the transfer of PERV RNA across the membrane in a BAL.
