1.Effect of Gui-Zhi Fu-Ling Wan on HIF-1α and VEGF in Patients with Endometriosis
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(5):1178-1181
This study was aimed to explore effect of Gui-Zhi Fu-Ling W an (GZFLW) on HIF-1α and vascular en-dothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with endometriosis. A total of 68 endometriosis patients in the First Peo-ple's Hospital of Xining from June 2011 to June 2013 were included. All patients received treatment of GZFLW, once a day. After one-month treatment, the treatment efficacy was analyzed. The endometrial tissues (both ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium) were obtained before and after treatment. The protein levels of HIF-1α and VEGF as well as the relationship of HIF-1α and VEGF were analyzed by SP immunohistochemistry. The results showed that the total treatment efficacy was 86.76%. Compared with pretreatment, the posttreatment protein levels of HIF-1α and VEGF were significantly reduced (P< 0.05). The decreasing of VEGF protein level and HIF-1α expres-sion level were positively correlated (P< 0.05). It was concluded that GZFLW had better efficacy in the treatment of endometriosis. One of the reasons may be the downregulation of protein levels of HIF-1α and VEGF in endometriosis tissues.
3.Development and Quality Evaluation of Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines of Chinese Medicine.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2016;36(1):11-15
More attentions have been paid to the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (ECPGs) of Chinese medicine (CM). International guideline evaluation instruments such as Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE I) has been gradually applied in ECPGs quality evaluation of CM. Nowadays, there are some certain methodological defects in partial ECPGs of Chinese medicine, with relatively low applicability and slowly update. It is suggested to establish technical specifications of CM-ECPGs in accordance with the characteristics of CM and international general specification, strengthen the quality evaluation of CM-ECPGs, attach great importance to the regularly update as well as popularization and application of CM-ECPGs.

International Eye Science 2007;7(6):1517-1519
·AIM: To investigate a surgical method of modified lensectomy within combined lensectomy and vitrectomy surgery in traumatic eyes.·METHODS: Clinical records were studied retrospectively for a series of consecutive 27 traumatic patients who were performed vitrectomy combined with lensectomy surgery. A modified lensectomy through pars plana incision of sclera was performed to these cases and lens capsule was reserved. It was then combined with vitreous and retinal operations.·RESULTS: All lens were removed completely with lens capsule remained. All cases achieved improved visual acuity.Intraocular pressure (IOP) in all eyes was in normal range after surgery.·CONCLUSION: The modified lensectomy is a safe and effective surgery manner which has few complications and is more suitable for traumatic eyes in the combined lensectomy and vitrectomy surgery.KEYWORDS:ocular trauma; lensectomy; vitrectomy

OBJECTIVETo discuss the curative effect of traditional treatment and combination therapy for senile hip fracture.
METHODSUsing prospective methods to choose 300 cases of elderly patients with hip fractures from February 2011 to December 2012, which were randomly divided into comprehensive treatment group and conventional treatment group. After screening, 148 case were in comprehensive treatment group, including 62 males and 86 females with an average age of (78.76 +/- 7.32) years old ranging from 60 to 88; 45 cases were intertrochanteric fracture of femur, 103 cases were fracture of neck of femur; Singh index > or = IV in 74 cases, < IV in 74 cases;preoperative Harris score was 39.90 +/- 2.28. There were 146 cases in conventional treatment group, including 60 males and 86 females with an average age of (80.00 +/- 7.06) years old ranging from 66 to 96; 50 cases were intertrochanteric fracture of femur, 96 cases were fracture of neck of femur; Singh index > or = IV in 75 cases, < IV in 71 cases; preoperative Harris score was 40.10 +/- 2.81. Preoperative general situation, leaving bed time and hospital stay, the incidence of postoperative 12 weeks Singh index > or = IV and DPD/Cr value, Harris score at 12 months after operation and the incidence of fracture again of two groups were observed and compared.
RESULTSIn comprehensive treatment group 140 patients were followed up for 12 to 18 months with an anverage of 14.80 +/- 1.85. In conventional treatment group 132 patients were followed up for 12 to 14 months with an average of 12.75 +/- 0.79. There were no significant differences in age, gender, the classification of fracture, preoperative Harris hip score, preoperative Singh index > or = IV level and DPD/Cr value between the two groups (P > 0.05). Comprehensive treatment group had shorter leaving bed time and hospital stay, smaller postoperative 12 weeks DPD/Cr value and higher postoperative Harris score, higher incidence of postoperative 12 weeks Singh index > or = IV level, lower incidence of fracture again than conventional treatment group, there was statistically significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONFor the anti-osteoporosis effect, the comprehensive treatment group has more advantage than traditional treatment group in elderly hip fracture, which can further improve the elderly hip fracture treatment and provide the reference of evidence-based medicine cooperate with rehabilitation department.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2014;30(3):524-528
Manganese peroxidase (MnP), a crucial enzyme in lignin degradation, has wide potential applications in environmental protection. However, large-scale industrial application of this enzyme is limited due to several factors primarily related to cost and availability. Special attention has been paid to the production of MnP from inexpensive sources, such as lignocellulosic residues, using solid-state fermentation (SSF) systems. In the present study, a suitable SSF medium for the production of MnP by Schizophyllum sp. F17 from agro-industrial residues has been optimized. The mixed solid medium, comprising pine sawdust, rice straw, and soybean powder at a ratio of 0.52:0.15:0.33, conferred a maximum enzyme activity of 11.18 U/g on the sixth day of SSF. The results show that the use of wastes such as pine sawdust and rice straw makes the enzyme production more economical as well as helps solve environmental problems.
