2.Analysis of related factors for tracheotomy after cervical spinal injuries
Chinese Journal of Trauma 2003;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the risk and prediction factors for tracheotomy after cervical spinal injuries. Methods A retrospective analysis was done on 1 064 cases suffering from cervical spinal injuries, of which, according to nerve function evaluation criteria of American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA), there were 243 cases at Grade A,327 at Grade B, 306 at Grade C and 188 at Grade D. Except for seven cases with brain injuries, trachea injuries, with a tracheotomy before hospitalization, a total of 106 cases needed tracheotomy during their hospitalization. The following factors were evaluated to predict the possible causes for tracheotomy: segment of injury, ages, smoking history, past diseases (such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and coronary heart disease) and complicated chest or lung injuries. Results The highest rate of tracheotomy for cervical spinal injury at Grade A was 35.0% (85/243), while the rate of tracheotomy for incomplete injury at Grades B, C and D was only 2.6% (21/814). Of cervical spinal injury at Grade A, all C_3 segment injuries needed tracheotomy. Of all, the percentage for C_4 and C_5 segment injuries accounted for 43.2% (105/243),of which the percentage for tracheotomy was 74% (63/85). The possibility of tracheotomy decreased gradually from below C_5. Besides C_3 segment injuries, C_4 segment injuries had the highest possibility of tracheotomy, with statistical difference compared with other segments (P

Objective To investigate the relationship between preoperative anemia, low albumin, low body mass index and the prognosis of advanced gastric cancer. Methods Three hundred and seventeen patients diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer as well as complete clinical pathology data from January 2006 to January 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical pathologic factors including age, gender, tumor size, type of Borrmann, hemoglobin, serum albumin, body mass index, type of histology, blood vessels and lymphatic invasion, infiltration depth, lymph nodes metastasis. The single factor and multiple factors were analyzed. Results Tumor size, type of Borrmann, hemoglobin, serum albumin, body mass index, type of histology, blood vessels and lymphatic invasion, infiltration depth and lymph node metastasis were identified as influencing factors of the prognosis, while independent factors associated with the prognosis of gastric cancer were serum albumin (OR =1.546,95% CI:1.069-2.237),infiltration depth (OR =1.933,95% CI:1.182-3.162) and lymph nodes metastasis (OR =1.586,95% CI:1.358-1.853).Conclusion Anemia and low body mass index are the influence factors but not the independent factors in the prognosis of gastric cancer, while low albumin concentration is the independent factor in the prognosis of gastric cancer.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(12):49-50,51
Objective To optimize the extraction process of Yangwei Jinshi Granules. Methods An orthogonal test was adopted in the study. With the paste-forming rate, the content of extract and the content of hesperidin of Yangwei Jinshi Granules as indices, data processing was carried out with grading method of synthesizing multiple indexes for optimizing the extraction condition. Results The best extraction technology was as follows:boiled 2 times, first with 10 times amount of water for 1.5 h, and then boiled with 8 times amount of water for 1 h. Conclusion The optimized process is reasonable, stable and economic for Yangwei Jinshi Granules.

Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(14):-
[Objective]To study the tendency of hip fracture by analyzing morbidity factors to provide an basis for preventing the fracture.[Method]All of the case records of hip fractures treated at west china hospital between 2000-1 and 2005-12 were checked and 583 inpatients were selected for analysis.[Result]The major injury cause was fall in the old and female was more susceptible.High energy injury was the major cause in younger 50. Osteoporosis and fall contributed best to the hip fracture in elderly.Concomitant disease and environmental factors increased the risk.[Conclusion]Osteoporosis and fall contribute most to the hip fracture in elderly, accordingly,to prevent fall and osteoporosis is vital to the old.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2013;29(7):586-588
Mean platelet volume (MPV) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and coronary artery disease was increased significantly. In those with acute coronary syndrome,multi-vascular disease, obesity, and highvalue of HbA1C(>7%),the MPV was much higher.Gisini coronary score, fasting blood glucose, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and HbA1C were the independent predictors of MPV in patients with DM and coronary artery disease.

Objective To study the local recurrence, distant recurrence and survival rate of anastomotic leak after surgery in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Chinese and English related studies published from January 1970 to June 2011 were searched in PubMed/Medline,Excerpta medica database (EMBASE),Springger,Google scholar,China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI),China biomedical literature database (CBM),Wanfang data. All controlled trials related to anastomotic leak after surgery in patients with colorectal cancer were retrieved.Outcomes were evaluated including local recurrence, distant recurrence and survival rate, then Mate-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.0 software provided by the Cochrane network. Results Fifteen studies were included, including a total of 18 225 patients. There were 1 425 patients with anastomotic leak and 16 800 patients without anastomotic leak. The patients with anastomotic leak were compared with patients without anastomotic leak. The OR value of local recurrence was 2.47 (95% CI 1.72-3.55,P < 0.01),the OR value of distant recurrence was 1.18 (95% CI 0.98-1.43,P =0.08),and the OR value of 5-year survival rate was 1.68 (95% CI 1.36-2.07,P < 0.01).Conclusions Anastomotic leak after surgery is a bad prognosis factor in patients with colorectal cancer. It can increase the local recurrence rate, and decrease survival rate.

Objective To study the effects of different factors on the salvianolic acid B stability in water solution and to provide the experimental data for production and application of salvianolic acid B. Methods Effects of salvianolic acid B concentration, pH value, temperature, and holding period on salvianolic acid B stability in water solution were studied by the salvianolic acid B changes determined by HPLC in orthogonal design test. Results The most stable condition of salvianolic acid B is that the concentration is 1 mg/mL, pH value is 2, the temperature is 20℃ , and the holding period is one day. Conclusion Salvianolic acid B should be kept in the conditions of higher concentration, lower pH value, lower temperature, and shorter period in solution to ensure its stability.
