Objective To study the mechanism of the Compound Qinbai Granule (Granules composed of Scutellaria root and Phellodendron bark) in the treatment of radioactive dermatitis in rats.Methods The rat models of radioactive dermatitis were established and randomized into three groups:Compound Qinbai Granule group (experimental group),dexamethasone ointment group (traditional group),and normal saline group (control group).The wound was treated with Compound Qinbai Granule spray,dexamethasone ointment external application,and normal saline spray respectively.By immunohistochemical staining and image analysis,the growth of granulation tissue in the wound area wound healing rate,and the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the wound tissues were determined on the second,sixth,tenth,eighteenth,and twenty-fourth day after injury.Results The average number of granulation tissue and wound healing rate in the experimental group on the sixth,tenth,eighteenth,and twenty-fourth day were all higher than those in the traditional group and control group with a significant difference (P

Plasma concentration of D-lactate and endotoxin in the last two groups declined to normal range at 72h after operation, while in the first two groups reduced to normal range before leaving hospital. Conclusion Acute intraperitoneal hemorrhage could damage gut barrier function, and injury degree was related with interval from injury to operation and blood loss amount.

Objective To assess the value of CT, PET, PET/CT in diagnosis of peritoneal metastases with Meta analysis. Methods Articles of CT, PET or PET/CT on peritoneal metastases published in English or Chinese from Jan 2000 to May 2008 were collected, and histopathological and (or) surgical findings were taken as golden standards. The sensitivity, specificity, summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curves, area under the curve (AUC) and the heterogeneity were calculated with software of SAS 8.0, Meta-DiSc 1.4 and STATA 10.0. Results The results of Meta analysis from 11selected articals showed that PET had the highest pooled specificity [0.96, (0.91-0.98)];PET/CT had highest pooled sensitivity [0.77, (0.67-0.85)]. The AUC and Q~* of PET, PET/CT and CT was (0.92, 0.85), (0.99, 0.96), (0.91, 0.84), respectively. AUC of PET/CT was higher than that of CT (Z=2.33, P<0.05). Conclusion PET/CT is a high accuracy diagnostic tool for detecting peritoneal metastases.

Multicultural nursing starts late in our country. At present, the domestic scholars′research is focusing on the influencing factors of multi-cultural nursing ability and cultivating mode. There are few studies pay attention to the cultural competency assessment tool which is limited to nursing students in school. I believe that establishing evaluation tools that suit our national condition, efficient and comprehensive will help reflecting the multicultural nursing ability and the training effect objectively and also promoting the development of multi-cultural care in China.

Objective To discuss anatomical characteristics and clinical results of the lateral superior genicular artery perforator iliotibial band flap. Methods From September 1999 to July 2009, the origin,course, branches and distribution of the lateral superior genicular artery and blood supply of iliotibial band were observed on 40 sides adult lower limbs perfused with red latax. Five perforator iliotibial band and 4 perforator iliotibial band flaps of 9 cases were treated with anastomosis of lateral superior genicular artery perforating rami. Results The lateral superior genicular artery of 35 cases (80%) originates from the popliteal artery. Its originated external diameter was (1.8 ± 0.4) mm. It divides into ascending branch and descending branch, and they gives off septofascio-cutaneous perforator, or anatomoses the lateral uppermost genicular artery in the vastus lateralis muscle, and then formes the musculocutaneous perforator of iliotibial band. The originated external diameter of the larger perforator of iliotibial bands was ( 1.0 ± 0.2) mm and they provides for the skin and iliotibial band of lateral superior genicular area. Nine cases, including 5 cases of simple Achilles tendon defects, two cases of achilles tendon defects with skin defects, and 2 cases of lower extremity and foot soft tissue defects were treated with transplantation of the vascularized iliotibial band (flap) with perforator vascular anastomoses. All cases were followed up 6 - 92 months. The results showed significant improvement in "heel test" and Thompson sign in the rerupture of the Achilles tendon occurred. Four perforator iliotibial band flaps survived well. Conclusion The lateral superior genicular artery perforator iliotibial band flap is a practical, simple and new donor in the reconstruction of soft tissue and composite defects.

As one of the important founders of GAO's acupuncture academic school in YanZhao area, Professor GAO Yuchun 's experience of acupuncture for headache is summarized in this paper. In the opinion of Professor GAO, the treatment of headache should focus on eliminating evil and relieving pain, and the syndrome differentiation should be based on meridian differentiation, especially on three yang meridians of foot as well as liver meridian and kidney meridian. In the acupoint prescription, attention should be placed on strengthening the spleen and stomach. The midnight-midday ebb flow acupuncture is advocated. The combination between acupuncture order and movement of qi is emphasized. In the manipulation, the role of pressing hand, the stimulation during reinforcing and reducing methods, and needle-retention time are important. The breathing reinforcing and reducing method of acupuncture are also advocated.

Objective To explore the relationship between lecithin cholesterol acy ltransferase (LCAT) gene 608C/T and 511C/T polymorphisms and stroke in Chinese Han population in Hunan province. Methods One hundred fifty patients with cerebral infarction, 150patients with cerebral hemorrhage, and 122 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were selected.LCAT gene 608C/T and 511C/T polymorphisms were detected by using polyrnerase chain reaction, single strand conformation polymorphism, and restriction fragment length polymorphisms. Results The CT genotype frequency (14. 0% ) and T allele frequency (7. 0% )of the LCAT gene 608C/T in the cerebral infarction group were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P ＜0. 05), while there were no significant differences in the CT genotype frequency (7. 3% ) and T allele frequency (3.7%) between the cerebral hemorrhage group and the control group (P ＞ 0. 05). The CT genotype frequency (10. 0% ) and T allele frequency (5. 0% ) of the LCAT gene 511C/T in the cerebral infarction group were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P ＜0. 01), while there were no significant differences in the CT genotype frequency (3.3%) and T allele frequency (1.7%) between the cerebral hemorrhage group and the control group (P ＞0. 05). Conclusions The 608C/T and 511C/T polymorphisms may be associated with the occurrence of atherosclerotic cerebral infarction in Chinese Han population in Hunan province. They may be the predisposing factors for atherosclerotic cerebral infarction in this population; however, they are not associated with cerebral hemorrhage.

Objective To optimize the exposure parameters and reduce the irradiation dose level in infants and young children during digital radiography (DR) chest radiography under the premise of satisfied image quality.Methods The thoracic thickness of 100 patients were measured.Determined the aluminum equivalent of the thoraxes of the infants and young children by comparing the grayscale value and the aluminum step wedge.Another 100 infants and young children of experimental exposure were performed with the aluminum step wedge as a phantom,under AEC control,kV was the only variant to explore the optimal exposure parameters with dose monitor simultaneously.At last,clinical validation was performed.Images quality was compared with x2 test.The radiation dose of two groups was compared with t test.Results The maximum,minimum,average thoracic thickness and their correspondent aluminum equivalent were 13.5 and 2.3 cm,8.0 and 1.4 cm,(10.6 ± 1.3) and 2.0 cm,respectively.The average thoracic thickness of experimental group was (10.1 ± 2.2) cm.The range of entrance surface dose was 0.068-0.056 mGy while the tube voltage range was 55-65 kV.The exposure index range was 0.60-0.74.The visual inspection of aluminum step wedge was from grades 8 to 11 with satisfying image quality at lower radiation.The infant chest X-ray photography exposure parameters formula have been optimized,that was kV =thoracic thickness (cm) × 2 + 38 (constant),mAs (0.8-1.0) with SID =100 cm,without filter grid.Compare to the conventional parameters,the image quality of new method had no significant differences (P ＞ 0.05).The actual average entrance surface dose was (0.048 ± 0.007) mGy,lower than AEC group (0.066 ± 0.008) mGy.The difference was statistically significant (t =16.781,P ＜ 0.001).Conclusions The optimized formula kV =thoracic thickness (cm) ×2 + 38(constant),mAs (0.8-1.0) with SID =100 cm was credible for lowering the radiation exposure with good image quality for clinical diagnosis.
