PAX2 gene encodes a nuclear transcription factor and plays a pivotal role for embryonic kidney development. It is expressed during the entire developmental process of pronephron, mesonephron and metanephron, involving in the regulation of embryonic kidney development at various fetal stages, but its expression disappeared in mature nephrons.Recently,it was found that PAX2 was re-expressed in nephropathy.Gene mutation and re-expression of PAX2 are closely related with congenital and acquired renal diseases. This paper reviews the role and significance of PAX2 expression in kidney disease from the aspects of normal expression, gene mutation and abnormal expression.

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of tendon sheath laceration by syringe needle under the guidance of ultrasonography in the treatment of stenosing tenosynovitis. Methods A retrospective comparison was made on the curative efficacy in 78 patients with stenosing tenosynovitis of the hand. The patients were divided into two groups: the treatment group (n=39) was given tendon sheath laceration by 20-gauge syringe needle under the guidance of 10 MHz ultrasonography, while the control group ( n= 39) received the conventional puncture and laceration without the ultrasound guidance. Results At the fourth postoperative week, complete pain relief was achieved in 32 patients in the treatment group (82.1%) and in 20 patients in the control group (51.3%), respectively, with a significant difference ( ? 2 =8.34, P =0.004). The visual analogue score (VAS) was 8.9~3.5 (mean, 6.7?2.0) lower than before operation in the treatment group and 8.5~0.5 (mean, 5.2?2.9) in the control group. The pain relief in the treatment group is significantly superior to that in the control group ( t =2.659, P =0.010). Conclusions Ultrasound-guided laceration of the stenotic tendon sheath by syringe needle is a simple, minimally invasive and effective option for the management of stenosing tenosynovitis of the hand.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(18):2917-2922
BACKGROUND:Breviscapine has been shown to impact the reproductive capacity in rats with type 2 diabetes mel itus, but few reports concerned its mechanism of action.
OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of breviscapine on proliferating cel nuclear antigen and proto-oncogene c-fos expression in testis of type 2 diabetes mel itus rats.
METHODS:Total y 36 healthy male rats were randomly divided into control group, model group and breviscapine group with 12 rats in each group. In the model group and breviscapine group, rat models of type 2 diabetes mel itus were established by continuous intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Blood glucose reaching 16.7 mmol/L in rats was considered as the standard of model induction. In the control group, rats were given an equal volume of citrate buffer solution by single intraperitoneal injection. In the breviscapine group, rats were administered breviscapine 10 mg/(kg?d) for 4 consecutive weeks by intraperitoneal injection. Rats in the other two groups were injected with an equal volume of physiological saline at the same time point.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After 4 weeks of intervention, serum testosterone testing, immunohistochemistry and PCR results showed that serum testosterone levels, proliferating cel nuclear antigen, c-Fos protein and mRNA expression:control group>breviscapine group>model group (P<0.05);blood glucose concentration:the control group

Aim To investigate the clinical importance of a newly designed tenodesis with polymolecular polyethlene fastener. Methods Eighty-nine patients with knee ligaments injuries were reconstructed with the technique of newly designed tenodesis. Rehabilitation program started under the instruction of the therapist from the next day of the surgery. Results The tenodesis on all patients in our study were successful. The fasteners in two patients and the transplants in three patients were blocked in the bone tunnel during the operation. One fastener was taken out from the bone tunnel under arthroscopy. The patients were followed up for 19 months averagely (from 6 months to 49 months), most of them showed a stable knee without complain, except two patients feel uncomfortable after vigorous activities; seven patients show little laxity in anterior drawer test (ADT) or posterior drawer test (PDT) and three patients had 20-degree limitation of knee flexion. Lysholm scale score were 56?8 and 89?5 before and after operation, respectively ( P

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(11):-
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a population of multipotent cells that can proliferate and differentiate into marrow and non-marrow cell types, such as adipocytes, chondrocytes, myocytes, and so on. In recent years, many researchers have studied whether MSCs are capable of differentiation into neurons in vivo and ex vivo. The result that MSCs-derived neurons express NSE and NF, but don't express GFAP suggests MSCs can differentiate into neurons, some researchers have achieved success in promoting functional recovery in Pakinsons and transactional spinal cord injury rat models by use of MSCs-derived neurons. Therefore, MSCs-derived neurons will play an important role in the therapy for a variety of diseases of the nervous system. [

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(12):-
Objective To investigate arthroscopic characteristics and minimally invasive treatment of meniscal injuries in osteoarthritic knees. Methods Sixty-eight cases of meniscal injuries in osteoarthritic knees were divided into four types according to arthroscopic characteristics of meniscal tears and involvement degree of the synovium and the cartilage: Type Ⅰ: limited meniscal injuries; Type Ⅱ: Limited injuries combined with abrasive injuries; Type Ⅲ: injuries of the most part of the meniscus, loose meniscus; Type Ⅳ: abraded meniscus combined with partial or mostly partial absence. Corresponding arthroscopic procedures were performed. Results Among the 68 cases, there were 10 cases of the Type Ⅰ injuries, 20 cases of the Type Ⅱ, 27 cases of the Type Ⅲ, and 11 cases of the Type Ⅳ, respectively. For the Type Ⅰ injuries, arthroscopic meniscal suture was performed in 4 cases and partial arthroscopic meniscectomy was performed in 6 cases. For the Type Ⅱ injuries, arthroscopic partial meniscectomy was performed in 18 cases and subtotal meniscectomy was performed in 2 cases. For Type Ⅲ injuries, arthroscopic lavage and debridement was performed in 1 case, arthroscopic partial meniscectomy in 5 cases, subtotal meniscectomy in 16 cases, and total meniscectomy in 5. For Type Ⅳ injuries, arthroscopic subtotal meniscectomy was performed in 2 cases and total meniscectomy in 9 cases. A follow-up was carried out for 6~52 months (mean, 22 months). There were 7 cases of pain after vigorous activities (Type Ⅱ: 1 case; Type Ⅲ: 2 cases; Type Ⅳ: 4 cases), 1 case of locking knee (Type Ⅲ), and 2 cases of limitation of knee flexion (Type Ⅲ and Ⅳ: 1 case each). Total knee replacement was conducted 2~3 years after the procedure in 3 cases (Type Ⅲ: 2 cases; Type Ⅳ: 1 case). Of the remaining 65 cases, the Lysholm scores were elevated from 50?12 preoperatively to 85?8 postoperatively (t=3.521, P
