Objective To identify snoRNA, which may be related to prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods Ninetygastric cancer patients who diagnosed at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were randomly collected in this study, and their clinical data were followed up. A total of 405 snoRNA expression profiles were analyzed in 90 gastric cancer patients. Patients were classified aslow expressiongroup orhigh expressiongroup according to the median expression of each snoRNA expression, which was calculated by univariate and multivariate survival analysis. We also screened out the snoRNAs, in which patients were survived differently. Patients were classified as high, middle, or low risk groups based on the snoRNA risk score. Values of age, gender, smoking, drinking, histological differentiation (well, moderately-differentiated and poorly differentiated), clinical stage (Ⅰ+Ⅱstage andⅢ+Ⅳstage), tumor size (<5 cm and≥5 cm), tumor location (upper 1/3 and others) and snoRNA risk score (high, middle, and low risk group) were assessed by multivariate Cox analysis. Results There were significant differences in overall survival and (or) progression-free survival rates in 19 patients with high and low snoRNAs expressions (P<0.05). Results of multivariate Cox analysis showed that patients with high expression of ACA61,ACA27 and U36A showed a higher overall survival and progression-free survival rates, while patients with high expression of ENSG00000206898 showed a lower overall survival and progression-free survival survival rates (P<0.01). SnoRNA risk score is an independent prognostic factor for patients with gastric cancer. Compared with low risk group, patients in middle risk group and in high risk group showed a shorter overall survival and progression-free survival rates (P<0.001). Conclusion The expressions of ACA61, ACA27, U36A and ENSG00000206898 are independent prognostic factors of gastric cancer. Low expressions of the first three indexes and high expressions of the last one predict a bad prognosis.

The relationship between inflammatory response and tumor has gained great attention in recent years. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) play an important role in tumor growth, proliferation, metabolism, and metastasis. Many studies have confirmed that most TAMs have an M2 phenotype and can promote tumor growth, metabolism, metastasis, and angiogenesis in primary liver cancer. The transformation of M2 macrophages into M1 macrophages changes the biological manifestations of hepatoma cells, which may become a new therapeutic strategy for liver cancer. This article reviews the research advances in the association between TAMs and the progression of primary liver cancer, as well as possible therapeutic regimens.

Objective: To investigate the potential application values of screening on breast cancer, using the single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that were identified from the genome- wide association studies (GWASs). Methods: Two million Chinese women aged 35-69 years were simulated, based on both age distributions, age-specific incidence rates of breast cancer and the distribution of known risk factors, in 2013. Twenty-three SNPs identified from GWAS were further simulated. Both genetic-related risks explained by each SNPs and the improvement on the risks under reclassification, were used to select SNPs for the prediction on breast cancer among the targeted high-risk population. Further analyses were conducted to investigate the following items as: improvements on detection rates of breast cancer among the high-risk populations, areas under the curve (AUC) and the odds ratio (OR) among women at high risk. Results: A total of 12 SNPs were eligible for targeting the high-risk population of breast cancer. When high-risk populations were defined as women whose predicted risks were higher than the 95^th predicted risk of the whole population, the detection rate (146.99/100 000) among high-risked women predicted by 12 SNPs would be significantly lower than 177.46/100 000, which was predicted by the known risk factors (P<0.001), among the high-risked women. Among those women at high risk, the detection rate (229.00/100 000) predicted by integrating known risk factors and 12 SNPs was significantly higher than that predicted by known risk factors (P<0.001). Also, the AUC increased from 64.4% to 67.8% (P<0.001), and the OR of increased from 3.32 to 4.33, predicted by integrating known risk factors and 12 SNPs, for women at high risk on breast cancer. Conclusion Targeted SNPs that were identified from genome- wide association studies could be used to improve the detection rates as well as the overall accuracy of risk prediction so as to identify the potential high-risk women on breast cancer before carrying on the screening program.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer for Chinese women. Early screening is the best way to improve the rates of early diagnosis and early treatment of breast cancer. The peak ages of breast cancer in Chinese women are obviously different from those in the European and American countries. It is imperative to develop a guideline for breast cancer screening that is suitable for Chinese women. Based on the analysis and summary of breast cancer screening data in China, and the latest guidelines and consensus on breast cancer screening in Europe, the United States and East Asia, China Anti-Cancer Association and National Clinical Research Center for Cancer (Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital) has developed a population-based guideline for breast cancer screening in Chinese women. This guideline has provided detailed recommendations on the screening starting age, screening modalities, and screening interval in Chinese women with average risk and high risk of breast cancer, respectively. This article aims to interpret the above guideline, providing references for professionals in breast cancer screening.

Objective:To investigate the disability status of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in China and to identify the influencing factors of the inflammatory bowel disease disability index (IBD-DI).Methods:From October 1 to December 31, 2021, a total of 1 170 IBD patients were recruited from 7 IBD centers and WeChat public platforms in China. All the patients were surveyed by the IBD-DI questionnaire, which included demographic information, disease activity, medication history, treatment and surgical history. Demographic information included gender, age, income status, etc. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of IBD-DI.Results:Among the 1 170 IBD patients, 746 patients (63.76%) were male and 424 patients (36.24%) were female; there were 871 cases (74.44%) of Crohn′s disease(CD), 277 cases (23.68%) of ulcerative colitis (UC) and 22 cases (1.88%) of inflammatory bowel disease undassified (IBDU). The age was 36.00 years old (29.00 years old, 45.00 years old), and the IBD-DI score was 9.00 (5.00, 15.00). The results of multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the disease activity ( β=0.65, t=22.33, P<0.001), current treatment with enteral nutrition ( β=0.09, t=3.06, P<0.001), and history of perianal surgery ( β=0.06, t=2.12, P=0.034) were influencing factors of IBD-DI in the CD patients. Disease activity ( β=0.65, t=14.37, P<0.001), household per capita annual income ( β=-0.16, t=-3.59, P<0.001), current usage of immunosuppressants ( β=0.12, t=2.66, P=0.008), current treatment with enteral nutrition ( β=0.12, t=2.57, P=0.011), and the duration of each exercise ( β=-0.12, t=-2.67, P=0.008) were influencing factors of IBD-DI in UC patients. Conclusions:Disability is common in Chinese IBD patients, and their IBD-DI were different. Disease activity is the most important factor affecting IBD-DI. The IBD-DI is higher in IBD patients receiving enteral nutrition treatment, CD patients with a history of perianal surgery and UC patients with current usage of immunosuppressants. However, household per capita annual income and the duration of each exercise are negatively correlated with IBD-DI in UC patients.

The theory of membrane anatomy has been widely used in the field of colorectal surgery. The key point to perform high quality total mesorectal excision (TME) and complete mesocolic excision (CME) is to identify the correct anatomical plane. Intraoperative identification of the various fasciae and fascial spaces is the key to accessing the correct surgical plane and surgical success. The landmark vessels refer to the small vessels that originate from the original peritoneum on the surface of the abdominal viscera during embryonic development and are produced by the fusion of the fascial space. From the point of view of embryonic development, the abdominopelvic fascial structure is a continuous unit, and the landmark vessels on its surface do not change morphologically with the fusion of fasciae and have a specific pattern. Drawing on previous literature and clinical surgical observations, we believe that tiny vessels could be used to identify various fused fasciae and anatomical planes. This is a specific example of membrane anatomical surgery.

Objective:To investigate the role of NG2 cells in generating and maintaining neuropathic pain in rats after spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods:According to random number table method, 100 healthy adult male SD rats were divided into control group ( n=20, without any intervention), sham-operated group ( n=40, exposed T 10 segment without spinal cord impact) and SCI group ( n=40, exposed T 10 segment and constructed SCI model by improved Allen's method). One d before, and 14, 21 and 28 d after surgery, Von Frey fiber probe was used to detect the rat hindlimb mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT); immunofluorescent staining was used to detect the proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells; Western blotting was used to detect chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG) expression in spinal dorsal horn of rats. Results:Fourteen, 21 and 28 d after surgery, SCI group had significantly lower hindlimb MWT, and significantly higher proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells and CSPG expression in spinal dorsal horn than control group and sham-operated group ( P<0.05). One d before, and 14, 21 and 28 d after surgery, in SCI group, hindlimb MWT decreased firstly and increased secondly, proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells increased firstly and decreased secondly, and CSPG expression in spinal dorsal horn increased firstly and decreased secondly. Except for those 21 and 28 d after surgery, hindlimb MWT, proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells, and CSPG expression in spinal dorsal horn showed significant differences between each two time points ( P<0.05). In SCI group, hindlimb MWT was negatively correlated with proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells ( r=-0.876, P<0.001), and CSPG expression was positively correlated with proportion of NG2-positive cells in spinal dorsal horn cells ( r=0.927, P<0.001). Conclusion:NG2 cell proliferation and increased CSPG expression secreted by NG2 cells in spinal cord tissues after SCI generate and maintain neuropathic pain.

Screening has been always considered as a double-edged sword. Cancer screening could save lives in some cases, however, in other cases, it might also turn people into overdiagnosis. Overdiagnosis is the diagnosis of cancer that will never cause symptoms or death during a patient's lifetime. Therefore, overdiagnosis might lead to unnecessary treatments and lifetime surveillance, and then increase economic burden and psychological burden. In this review, we focus on how to correctly evaluate the overdiagnosis rate, and how to avoid or reduce the harms caused by overdiagnosis in the future according to the reasons associated with overdiagnosis. After systematically reviewing the previous studies, we will try to identify the potential reasons associated with overdiagnosis in breast cancer screening with mammography, address how to correctly evaluate the overdiagnosis rate, and finally provide some suggestions to reduce the overdiagnosis.

Objective This meta-analysis was conducted to quantitatively estimate the associations between sleep duration and weight gain or obesity in adults according to the literature retrieval results of related prospective cohort studies published before October 2014.Methods The literature retrieval was conducted by using PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library and Chinese databases,including CNKI,VIP and Wan Fang.The pooled relative risk (RR) and 95％ confidence intervals (CI) were estimated,and the tests of the publication bias and the heterogeneity were also performed.Results Sixteen literatures met the inclusion criteria were selected for analysis.In 285 452 adults surveyed in these studies,both short sleep duration and long sleep duration significantly increased the risk of weight gain (RR=1.26,95％CI:1.12-1.42;RR=1.12,95％CI:1.04-1.20),and short sleep duration also increased the risk of obesity (RR=1.35,95％CI:1.22-1.50,P＜0.001),but long sleep duration was not associated with obesity.In subgroup analysis,the associations were stronger in the studies with higher quality and using ＜6 h and ≥8 h as the criteria to identify short and long sleep durations.Conclusion The meta-analysis indicated that both short and long sleep durations were associated with weight gain,and short sleep duration could also increase the risk of obesity.Therefore,public health efforts in promoting sufficient sleep may be important in the prevention of obesity.
