Objective:This study aimed to investigate the role of mitochondrial fusion protein 2 (Mfn2) in chronic renal injury caused by cyclosporine A (CSA) and the possible mechanism.Methods:The model of chronic CSA nephropathy was established in rats. The rats were divided into solvent control group, CSA model group and normal control group. Serum creatinine and urinary protein levels were detected. The tubulointerstitial injury was observed by light microscopy. The changes of mitochondrial structure were observed by electron microscope, and the expression of Mfn2 was detected by Western blot.Results:The levels of serum creatinine and urinary protein in CSA model group at 2 and 4 weeks were significantly higher than those in control group and solvent group ( P<0.05). In CSA model group, tubulointerstitial injury was obvious, mitochondria swelling and deformation were found in tubular epithelial cells, and ridge disappeared. Compared with normal control group and solvent control group, the expression of Mfn2 in CSA model group was significantly decreased at 2 and 4 weeks ( P<0.05), and the expression of Mfn2 in CSA model group at 4 weeks was further decreased compared with 2 weeks ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Mfn2 may play an important role in the injury of tubular epithelial cells caused by cyclosporine.

This article was aimed to evaluate clinical efficacy of the pulmonary rehabilitation health education guidance mode. The CAT assessment tool was used for evaluation of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) inpatients and outpatients in the Respiratory Department, Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Xinjiang Medical University. A total of 80 stable COPD patients were randomized divided into the treatment group and control group. In the treatment group, stable COPD patients received pulmonary rehabilitation health education guidance. And then the quality of life was evaluated. The results showed that compared with the control group, after 48-week health education intervention, the CAT score and dyspnea index scale score of 40 patients in the treatment group were decreased with significant difference (P < 0.05). It was concluded that the guidance mode of pulmonary rehabilitation health education was conducive to improving the quality of life of pa-tients with COPD, decreasing the dyspnea index score, and improving exercise tolerance in patients to a certain extent. This pattern can be implemented in the optimization of future clinical practice and nursing.

Objective To investigate the effects of different head positions during operation on wake-up time and quality among ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with thoracolumbar kyphosis following pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO).Methods Sixty patients were included in this study.All of them,treated with intravenous anesthesia,took the bow-prone position.The patients were randomly divided into two groups:the experiment group where the head was elevated by 10° and the control group where the head was not elevated.The two groups were compared in respect of wake-up time and quality of wake-up test.Results The wake-up time in the experiment group was significantly shorter as compared to that of the control group (1 3.7±2.0 min vs.24.2±2.7min,P＜0.05).The wake-up quality was better as well.Conclusion Elevation of the head by 10° can shorten wake-up time and improve the quality of wake-up test during the procedure of PSO for AS patients with thoracolumbar kyphosis.

Objective To evaluate the effects of peptide-based enteral nutrition (PBEN) on inflammatory response and immune function in rats with intestinal mucositis.Methods 48 Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (all n =8):basal feed group (BFG),PBEN group (PBENG),intact protein enteral nutrition group (IPENG),methotrexate (MTX) + BFG,MTX + PBENG,and MTX + IPENG.The rats in MTX + BFG,MTX + PENG,and MTX + IPENG were intraperitoneal injected with MTX 10 mg/kg on day 0 and day 6 to induce sustained intestinal injury.From day 1,BFG and MTX + BFG were fed with basal feed,PBENG and MTX + PBENG with PBEN,IPENG and MTX + IPENG with IPEN.The daily energy intake of each rat was 1.80 kJ/g body weight.All the rats were sacrificed on day 11.The pathological changes of intestinal tissue were observed with HE staining,the levels of tissue myeloperoxidase (MPO),nitric oxide (NO),inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS),the thymus index and spleen gland index of intestinal tissue were measured using colorimetry,and the serum levels of immunoglobulins IgG,IgA,and IgM were determined with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results There were no significant differences among BFG,PBENG,and IPENG in each index.Serious injury of intestinal mucosa was observed in MTX groups.Significant differences were noted in all indexes between MTX + BFG and BFG (all P ＜0.05).The mucosal damage score (Chiu score) and the level of MPO and iNOS in MTX + PBENG were significantly lower than those in MTX + BFG [2.3 ± 0.69vs.2.96 ± 0.75,P =0.003 ; (2.30 ± 0.42) U/g tissue vs.(2.98 ± 0.23) U/g tissue,P =0.040 ; (0.37 ±0.06) U/mg prot vs.(0.44 ±0.10) U/rag prot,P =0.030] ; the serum levels of IgG and IgA were significantly higher than those in MTX + BFG (P =0.015,P =0.021) ; however,the levels of NO and IgM were not significantly different between the 2 groups (P =0.597,P =0.160).There were no statistically significant differences between MTX + IPENG and MTX + BFG in terms of the indexes (all P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion PBEN can reduce the inflammation response and improve the immune function in intestinal mucositis rat.

Objective To establish a rat model of persistent intestinal mucosal injury.Methods The rat model of persistent intestinal mucosal injury was induced by intraperitoneal injection of methotrexate.The food intake and body weight of all the rats were recorded.Pathological changes were observed using HE staining, the level of D-lactate and diam-ine oxidase in plasma, and myeloperoxidase and malondiadehyde in the intestinal tissue were measured by biochemistry. Results After modeling, the rat body weight and food intake were decreased.On day 4, the scores of mucosal damage, the levels of plasma D-lactate, DAO, MPO and MDA were significantly increased (P<0.05).On day 5, the intestinal damages of rats began to restore, and there was no significant difference among groups on day 6.The symptoms after the secondary injection were similar to those after the first injection, and the rats recovered gradually at day 12.Conclusions Intestinal mucosal injury in rats induced by 20 mg/kg MTX is an acute injury process, the course only lasts for 4-5 days. Intermittent injections twice of 10 mg/kg MTX can cause persistent intestinal mucosal injury in rats.This persistent injury model is more suitable for nutritional therapy evaluation in medium-and long-term studies of nutritional therapy.

To study and compare the protective effects of Cordyceps sinensis from different habitats on acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) . Methods:The rat model of acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by CCl4 was established. The biochemical indicators of alanine aminotranferease ( ALT) and aspartate aminotransferease ( AST) in the serum and superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and L-glutathione( GSH) in the liver tissue were detected, and the liver tissue HE staining was used for the histopathology determination. Results:Compared with those in the model group, the levels of AST and ALT in the serum were sig-nificantly reduced, the levels of SOD and GSH in the liver tissue were notably increased, and the necrosis of liver cells was improved in Cordyceps sinensis groups at low, medium and high dose from different habitats (P<0. 05), however, the differences between the two different habitats were not significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion: Cordyceps sinensis from Qinghai and Tibet shows some positive differences in the protective effect on the acute chemical liver injury induced by CCl4 in rats,however, the differences are not remarka-ble.

Objective To study the pharmacokinetics difference of levofloxacin polymorphs in rats, evaluate the advantageous medical polymorph,and explore the effects of different polymorphs on clinical medicine. Methods Four crystal forms of levofloxacin were administered intragastrically to rats,and high performance liquid chromatography( HPLC)was used to measure the contents of levofloxacin in rat plasma. The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated and compared Results After a single oral dose,the peak plasma concentration(Cmax)of crystal forms ofⅠ,Ⅱ,ⅢandⅣof levofloxacin was 6. 984,9. 692,9. 405,6.424 mg·L-1;the time to peak(tmax)was 0.6,0.9,1.0,1.0 h;the half-life(t1/2)was 4.207,2.97,4.857,1.695 h;theareaunderthecurve(AUC0→12h)was31.478,42.385,32.406,31.636mg·h·L-1. Conclusion Thereisnostatistically significant difference in pharmacokinetic parameters. However,compared with other crystal forms,plasma concentration of crystal form II is higher and maintained longer. Therefore,crystal form II of levofloxacin is an advantageous polymorph for medicine.

Objective To evaluate clinical effects of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine therapy for epilepsy after stroke. Methods Literatures about the treatment of epilepsy after stroke with the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine which come from the database such as CNKI, VIP, WanFang and Pubmed, were studied and all the randomized controlled trials on comparing therapeutic effects of treating epilepsy between combined treatment of TCM and western medicine and western medicine were enrolled. The Cochrane Collaboration's software RevMan 5 was used for meta-analysis. Results 7 articles were included in the study, there is homogeneity among these articles(P>0.05), The fixed effect model was used for the meta analysis. the combined results were OR=5.17, 95%CI(3.02, 8.82), the overall effect of test Z=6.01, P<0.01, the difference between the treatment group and the control groups was significant, that means the overall effect of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine treatment was better than western medicine treatment; Funnel plot graphic displayed asymmetrically, which indicated the literatures publication bias. Conclusion The current data indicate that the curative effect of TCM and west medicine combined treatment is better than pure western medicine therapy for epilepsy after stroke, but as the literature publication bias, clinical studies need more high quality large samples to prove this conclusion.

Objective To observe the effects of combined surgeries for the correction of congenital ptosis accompanied by epicanthus.Methods 80 cases (105 eyes) of congenital ptosis were analyzed in this study.64 cases (80 eyes),with levator muscle strength more than 4 mm,were treated with suspension of frontal aponeurosis,and 16 cases (25 eyes),with levator muscle strength less than 4 mm,were treated with shorten operation of levator palpebrae superioris.Furthermore,all these patients were corrected the epicanthus at the same time.Results Except the under correction in 5 cases (8 eyes),the remaining patients were corrected satisfactorily.Postoperative palperbal fissure length was averagely increased by 2.0± 1.0 mm,inner canthic diameter was averagely decreased by 4.0± 2.0 mm,the eyelid height was increased by average 9.0±1.0 mm,the inclination of palpebral fissure was 12.0°±2.0°;64 cases (80 eyes) were treated with suspension of frontal aponeurosis,postoperative recurrence were 7.5％ (6/80),no postoperative recurrence were 92.5％ (74/80),complication were 5.0％ (4/80);16 cases (25 eyes) were treated with shorten operation of levator palpebrae superioris,postoperative recurrence were 8.0％ (2/25),and no postoperative recurrence were 8.0％ (2/25);complication rates were 4.0％ (1/25).Conclusions This procedure of combined surgeries can reduce the recurrence rate effectively.Moreover,the satisfactory,functional,and aesthetic results can be obtained simultaneously with this method.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the individualized treatment of congential entropion.Methods Totally 150 patients (285 eyes) with congenital entropion were analyzed,the individualized procedures were performed,including the simple incision and suture surgery for simple congenital entropion,removing the redundant skin of lower eyelid for congenital entropion with redundant skin of lower eyelid but without epicanthus,the correction of entropion combined withY-V epicanthoplasty for congenital entropion with epicanthus and the recession of lower eyelid retractor for congenital entropion with lower eyelid retraction.The clinical effect,the percentage of cure and the complication of these cases were evaluated.Results The excellent results were achieved and no relapse or complications occurred in all cases.The total cure rate was 98.6％ (281 of 285 eyes).The cure rate of simple congenital entropion was 92.0％ (23 of 25 eyes).The cure rate of congenital entropion with redundant skin of lower eyelid was 100％ (41 of 41 eyes).The cure rate of congenital halflength entropion accompanied by epicanthus was 99.4 ％ (179/180 eyes).The cure rate of congenital entropion associated with lower eyelid retraction was 97.4％ (38 of 39 eyes).Conclusions Individualized operations not only have well curative effect for various congenital entropions,but recurrence rate and complications have been reduced.
