Our study investigated the host cell protein which can interact with SARS-CoV N protein, and explored the functional connections. The eukaryotic expression vectors pEGFP-N1/SARS-CoVN and pdsRed2-N1/ CXCL16 were constructed and used to co-transfect HEK293FT cells by the calcium phosphate method. The HIS-tagged fusion protein SARS-CoVN-GFP was then built and purified for the binding assay in vitro. The co-localization of SARS-CoVN and CXCL16 in the cytoplasm of HEK293FT cells was also shown using confocal laser scanning microscopy. It is suggested that their interaction might be through direct combination. Under a fluorescence microscope, it was observed that the purified fusion protein SARS-CoVN-GFP was attached to the cell membrane of CXCL16-transfected cells, indicating that SARS-CoVN and CXCL16 can be mutually combined.

Objective To compare ratio of circulating Th17 over Tc17 cells in patients with colorectal polyp (CRP), colorectal adenoma (CRA) and colorectal cancer (CRC),and analyse their relationship. Methods The ratio of circulating Th17 over Tc17 cells in 93 patients(17 CRP, 34 CRA and 42 CRC)and 17 healthy donors were examined by flow cytometry;Serum levels of IL-17A and IL-23 were tested by ELISA. Results The ratio of circulating Th17 over Tc17 cells and the se-rum levels of IL-17A and IL-23 were the lowest in healthy control groups, medium in CRP and CRA groups and the highest in CRC groups (P<0.05). The proportions of Tc17 cells in CRA groups were significantly higher compared to those in CRP groups, but no statistical significance of proportion of circulating Th17 cells as well as serum levels of IL-17A and IL-23 be-tween CRA and CRP groups was observed (P>0.05). Further analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between proportions of circulating Th17 and Tc17 cells (rs=0.594, P<0.001). Conclusion The proportions of circulating Th17 and Tc17 cells were positively related and the ratio of Th17 over Tc17 was markedly increased from CRP group or CRA group to CRC group.

The repair of spinal cord injury is still a complex medicine problem because of its second injuries and involuted pathogenesis. In recent years, spinal cord injury repair by cell-transplantation has showed a big prospect. Although every kind of cell-transplantation was effective, it remained some problem, co-transplantation of cells hit the focus. This paper has reviewed the pathologic change after spinal cord injury, the influential factor and replied strategy for spinal cord regeneration and the advance in co-transplantation of cells for spinal cord injury.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(6):1249-1254
Clinic expert information provides important references for residents in need of hospital care. Usually, such information is hidden in the deep web and cannot be directly indexed by search engines. To extract clinic expert information from the deep web, the first challenge is to make a judgment on forms. This paper proposes a novel method based on a domain model, which is a tree structure constructed by the attributes of search interfaces. With this model, search interfaces can be classified to a domain and filled in with domain keywords. Another challenge is to extract information from the returned web pages indexed by search interfaces. To filter the noise information on a web page, a block importance model is proposed. The experiment results indicated that the domain model yielded a precision 10.83% higher than that of the rule-based method, whereas the block importance model yielded an F₁ measure 10.5% higher than that of the XPath method.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(1):82-85
The method for detecting the negative terms in Chinese electronic medical record (EMR) is useful in providing evidence for constructing concept index. In this respect, we adopted an improved method which combined maximum matching with mutual information in order to extract terms in EMRs. This method can overcome the influence of overlay ambiguity. In addition, for the determination of negative semantic, we also adopted an improved method which combined rule-based method with word co-occurrence. This new method can reduce the probability of appearance of false positive terms caused by punctuation input errors. The result showed that the negative predictive value is 7.85% higher than the rule-based method.

Objective:This study was conducted to investigate the levels of IL-23 and IL-17 in sera and tumor tissues and to ana-lyze their association with clinico-pathological parameters in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods:A total of 24 healthy sub-jects and 56 patients with CRC were recruited in this study. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was performed to measure the concen-trations of IL-23 and IL-17 in the sera of CRC patients and healthy controls and in cultured normal tissues and tumor tissues from CRC patients. Results:The levels of serum IL-23 and IL-17 were significantly higher in CRC patients than in healthy controls (P<0.01). The supernatant levels of IL-23 and IL-17 in tumor tissues were significantly higher than in normal tissues (P<0.05). Serum IL-17 level was correlated with tumor location, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage (P<0.05), whereas serum IL-23 level showed no correlation with all clinico-pathological parameters (P>0.05). Tumor supernatant IL-17 level was correlated with tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage (P<0.05), whereas tumor supernatant IL-23 level was correlated only with TNM stage (P<0.05). Conclu-sion:IL-23 and IL-17 may be involved in the immuno-pathogenesis of CRC progression.
