OBJECTIVETo investigate the change pattern of primary and secondary school teachers' work ability with the changes in their mental workload.
METHODSA total of 901 primary and secondary school teachers were selected by random cluster sampling, and then their mental workload and work ability were assessed by National Aeronautics and Space Administration-Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) and Work Ability Index (WAI) questionnaires, whose reliability and validity had been tested. The effects of their mental workload on the work ability were analyzed.
RESULTSPrimary and secondary school teachers' work ability reached the highest level at a certain level of mental workload (55.73< mental workload ≤ 64.10). When their mental workload was lower than the level, their work ability had a positive correlation with the mental workload. Their work ability increased or maintained stable with the increasing mental workload. Moreover, the percentage of teachers with good work ability increased, while that of teachers with moderate work ability decreased. But when their mental workload was higher than the level, their work ability had a negative correlation with the mental workload. Their work ability significantly decreased with the increasing mental workload (P < 0.01). Furthermore, the percentage of teachers with good work ability decreased, while that of teachers with moderate work ability increased (P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONToo high or low mental workload will result in the decline of primary and secondary school teachers' work ability. Moderate mental workload (55.73∼64.10) will benefit the maintaining and stabilization of their work ability.

China Occupational Medicine 2019;46(04):438-441
OBJECTIVE: To explore the association of workplace loneliness, job burnout and conscientiousness in teachers of special education. METHODS: A total of 344 teachers of special education from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected as study subjects by judgment sampling method. The questionnaires of Workplace Loneliness Scale, Maslach Burnout Inventory and Conscientiousness Scale of Big Five Inventory were used to conduct the survey. The mediating role of job burnout in workplace loneliness and conscientiousness was analyzed. RESULTS: The total score of workplace loneliness was 32.6±8.3. The median total score of job burnout and conscientiousness was 31.0 and 30.6 respectively. Partial correlation analysis showed that the dimensions of job burnout were positively correlated with the total score of workplace loneliness and all its dimension scores, and negatively correlated with conscientiousness score(P<0.01). The degree of explanation for the change of workplace loneliness and job burnout on conscientiousness were 9.0% and 17.0% respectively. CONCLUSION: Job burnout plays a partial mediating role in workplace loneliness and conscientiousness in teachers of special education. Reducing workplace loneliness and job burnout can help improve the conscientiousness of teachers of special education.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the relationship among loneliness at workplace, job burnout, and turnover intention in prison policemen. METHODS: A convenience sampling method was used to select a total of 290 prison policemen officers as the study subjects in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Workplace Loneliness Scale, Job Burnout Scale and Turnover Intention Scale were used to investigate the loneliness at workplace, job burnout and turnover intention respectively.RESULTS: The scores of turnover intention of 31-40 age group were higher than that of 41 or over age group(P<0.01). The scores of turnover intention in the length of service 1-5 years group and 6-10 year length of service group were higher than that of length of service over 16 years or more(P<0.05). The scores of turnover intention of section group policemen were higher than that of division group(P<0.05). The loneliness in the workplace was positively correlated with job burnout[Spearman rank correlation coefficient(r_S)=0.343, P<0.01], and turnover intention(r_S=0.392, P<0.01), and job burnout was positively correlated with turnover intention(r_S=0.408, P<0.01). Job burnout was the intermediate variable between loneliness in the workplace and turnover intention with a mediating effect rate of 60.2%. CONCLUSION: The job burnout of prison policemen plays a partial role in mediating the influence of loneliness at workplace on turnover intention.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects and potential mechani sm of deoxyschizandrin on the proliferation ,migration and invasion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell HONE- 1. METHODS :HONE-1 cell was set as cell model ,while CCK- 8 test, wound healing assay and Transwell chamber test were used to detect the proliferation ,migration and invasion ability changes of HONE- 1 cells after treatment with different concentrations [ 0(blank control ),10,20,40 μmol/L] of deoxyschizandrin. Computer molecular docking was performed to analyze the binding ability between deoxyschizandrin and Met protein. Western blotting assay was used to detect the relative protein expressions of p-Met ,p-PI3K,p-Akt,Bcl-2 and N-cadherin in cells. RESULTS :Compared with blank control ,the proliferation ,migration and invasion ability of cells after treated with 10,20,40 μmol/L deoxyschizandrin were all decreased significantly (P<0.05). Results of molecular docking revealed that deoxyschizandrin could stably bind with the activity pocket of Met protein. Results of Western blotting assay demonstrated that compared with blank control ,10,20,40 μmol/L deoxyschizandrin all decreased the relative protein expressions of p-Met ,p-PI3K,p-Akt,Bcl-2 and N-cadherin in cells significantly(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS :Deoxyschizandrin can inhibit the proliferation ,migration and invasion of HONE- 1 cell via inhibiting the activation of Met/PI 3K/Akt signaling pathway.
