This study seeks to explore the early signs of cognitive impairment in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). According to polysomnography, twenty patients diagnosed with OSAHS and twenty normal controls underwent event-related potential (ERP) examination including mismatch negativity (MMN) and P300. Compared with normal controls, OSAHS patients showed significantly prolonged latency of MMN and P300 at Cz. After controlling age and body mass index (BMI), MMN latency positively correlated with apnea hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen reduction index, stage N1 sleep and arousal index, while MMN latency negatively correlated with stage N3 sleep and mean blood oxygen saturation; and P300 latency positively related to AHI and oxygen reduction index; no relationships were found among MMN latency, MMN amplitude, P300 latency and P300 amplitude. These results suggest that the brain function of automatic processing and controlled processing aere impaired in OSAHS patients, and these dysfunction are correlated with nocturnal repeatedly hypoxemia and sleep structure disturbance.

Objective:The hemolytic prediction model of the axial flow impeller blood pump is carried out by using a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) multiphase flow model. Methods:The hydrodynamic performance of the pump and the flow field in the pump, and the shear stress distribution are analyzed. A hemolytic prediction model based on the shear stress is built based on the calculation results. Hemolysis tests in vitro were performed 6 times with fresh bovine blood. At each time, the flow of the ventricular assist device(VAD) is 5 L/min and the outflow tract pressure is 100 mmHg(13.3kPa). According to the tests, the plasma free hemoglobin(FHB) content and the hematocrit(HCT) are measured every half hour. At the end of each experiment Normal Index of Hemolysis(NIH) is calculated. Results:The average of NIH is 0.0055 g/100L, almost identical with that obtained from the hemolytic prediction model. Conclusion:Multiphase flow model can be used for quantitative predictions of the hemolytic behavior of a VAD. This method can be applied in the selection stage of a blood pump.

OBJECTIVETo compare the agronomic characters, HPLC fingerprints, the content of main component and amino acid between erective and creepy Ophiopogon japonicus of Sichuan.
METHODAgronomic characters were measured by conventional methods; HPLC was applied on a C18 column with CH3OH-CH3CN-2% CH2COOH solution by gradient elution, quercetin was used as the internal standard reference, the contents of total saponins, flavone and polysaccharide were determined by UV spectrophotometry and amino acid was determined by automatic amino acid analyzer.
RESULTThere were extremely significant differences in the most agronomic characters between erective and creepy O. japonicus of Sichuan. The yield per plant was closely relevant to the roots number and the fresh weight of aerial part. The differences were not significant both in 69 common peaks and 23 uncommon peaks in HLPC fingerprints and the content of main component between erective and creepy O. japonicus.
CONCLUSIONThere is no obvious difference in chemistry component between the two types of O. japonicus. The yield per plant was closely relevant to the roots number and the fresh weight of aerial part. In cultivation it is appropriate to choose the creepy O. japonicus.

Objective To investigate the application of peripheral perfusion index (PPI) in early diagnosis and goal-directed therapy of septic shock, and to provide reference for the early clinical diagnosis and treatment of septic shock. Methods A prospective single-blind randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted. Adult patients with sepsis admitted to emergency medical department and intensive care unit (ICU) of the First People's Hospital of Lianyungang City in Jiangsu Province from January 2013 to December 2016 were enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into two groups (n = 46). The PPI group was defined using PPI < 1.4 as diagnosis of septic shock standard, and PPI > 2 as treatment guide target. Control group was defined according to the traditional diagnostic criteria of shock which systolic blood pressure was less than 90 mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa) or systolic blood pressure value decrease> 40 mmHg baseline and bundle treatment was performed. The volume of fluid resuscitation, organ dysfunction, the sequential organ failure score (SOFA), acute physiology and chronic health evaluationⅡ (APACHE Ⅱ) score, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) time, mechanical ventilation (MV) time, the length of ICU stay and 28-day mortality were observed. Results There were 39 and 27 septic shock patients in PPI group and control group respectively. The diagnostic criteria of traditional septic shock with blood pressure as "gold standard", the sensitivity of PPI < 1.4 for septic shock was 94.3%, the specificity was 28.2%, the authenticity was 66.3%, the positive predictive value was 64.1%, the negative predictive value was 78.6%, the positive likelihood ratio was 1.31, the negative likelihood ratio was 0.18. The per capita fluid replacement within 24 hours in the PPI group was significantly higher than that in the control group (mL: 4 601±1 250 vs. 3 458±1 006, P < 0.01), but there was no significant difference in the per capita volume of the patients diagnosed as septic shock (mL: 4 596±1 320 vs. 4 205±1 058, P > 0.05). Compared with the control group, the PPI group treated patients within 48 hours with less vascular active drugs (cases: 6 vs. 15), APACHE Ⅱand SOFA score were lower (48 hours: APACHE Ⅱ was 10.2±2.1 vs. 12.0±3.2; 72 hours: SOFA was 5.1±1.8 vs. 6.0±2.1, APACHE Ⅱ was 8.9±1.8 vs. 9.8±2.2), the period of CRRT and the length of ICU stay were shorter [the period of CRRT (days): 3.0±0.9 vs. 3.6±1.4, the length of ICU stay (days): 5.2±2.1 vs. 6.3±2.9), the difference was statistically significant (all P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the liver and kidney function index, arterial blood lactic acid (Lac), MV time (days: 3.3±1.4 vs. 3.5±1.2) and 28-day mortality (15.22% vs. 19.57%) between two groups (all P > 0.05). Conclusions The inadequacy of microcirculatory perfusion by oximetry-derived PPI is more sensitive to the diagnosis of septic shock than hypotension of systemic circulation. With PPI guiding the fluid resuscitation of septic shock patients, vasopressors can be withdrawn earlier and the duration of the CRRT and ICU can be decreased.

This study aimed to obtain the first national estimate of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Chinese children. We targeted the population of 6 to 12-year-old children for this prevalence study by multistage convenient cluster sampling. The Modified Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scale was used for the screening process. Of the target population of 142,086 children, 88.5% (n = 125,806) participated in the study. A total of 363 children were confirmed as having ASD. The observed ASD prevalence rate was 0.29% (95% CI: 0.26%-0.32%) for the overall population. After adjustment for response rates, the estimated number of ASD cases was 867 in the target population sample, thereby achieving an estimated prevalence of 0.70% (95% CI: 0.64%-0.74%). The prevalence was significantly higher in boys than in girls (0.95%; 95% CI: 0.87%-1.02% versus 0.30%; 95% CI: 0.26%-0.34%; P < 0.001). Of the 363 confirmed ASD cases, 43.3% were newly diagnosed, and most of those (90.4%) were attending regular schools, and 68.8% of the children with ASD had at least one neuropsychiatric comorbidity. Our findings provide reliable data on the estimated ASD prevalence and comorbidities in Chinese children.
