1.Mediating effect of personality between attachment and defense style in college students
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2009;18(11):1025-1027
Objective To explore the mechanism of personality between attachment and defense style in college students. Methods 291 students were surveyed with Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-R Short Scale (EPQ-RSC, Chinese Adaptation), Experience of Close Relationship Inventory(ECR, Chinese Adaptation) and Defense Style Questionnaire ( DSQ). Results ①Unmature defense style had significant positive correlations with anxiety, avoidance, neurotism and psychoticism(r = 0. 19,0.45,0.51,0. 19, P<0.01) ,and had significant negative correlation with extroversion(r= -0. 25, P<0. 01 ) . ②Extroversion acled as part meditator between attachment and unmature defense style. ③Neurotism served as part meditator between anxiety and unmature defense style. Conclusion Attachment is a remarkable predictor of unmature defense style and has indirect influence on it through neurotism and psychoticism.

Objective To study the ego identity, mental health and their relationship among students in athletes. Methods 110 students in athletes and 122 athletes in students were measured with identity status scale and athletes' symptom checklist. Results ①Students in athletes have higher "present serf-commitment" (5.09±1.07)and lower "crisis in the past"(2.19±1.12)than athletes in students. The two demonstrate the obvious difference on the distribution of identity status. The percentage of students in athletes obtaining A is lower than that of athletes in students ,while the percentage of students in athletes obtaining D and MD is higher. ②Comparing with the norm, students in athletes have higher level on the factors of sematizafion (1.98±0.42),compulsion (2.21±0.51),interpersonal sensitivity(2.09±0.53),depression (1.85±0.53),anxiety ( 2.47 ~0.58 ),paranoid (1.98±0.21),psychoticism (1.79±0.22) and total average marks (2.00±0.34),lower level on the factors of hostility (1.43±0.48)and cognitive(1.64±0.31). ③Three domains of ego identity exit obvious negative correlation with the sores of psychological symptoms.ANOVA confined that the more advanced ego identity is,the better mental health is.Conclusion Ego identity and mental health of students in athletes have their own features, and ego i-dentity will influence mental health.

Objective To revise the manipulation tactics scale (MTS) and examine its reliability and validity. Methods 583 college students were assessed with MTS. Results ①Through item analysis and explore factor analysis, the revised MTS contained 24 items and 6 subscales which could explain 64.559% of the total variances. ②The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revised MTS had good construct validities. By means of personality traits and social relationship as criteria, the results suggested the criteria incidental validity were sound. ③The Cronbach' s coefficients of the scales were 0.714,0.866, and test-retest reliabilities were 0.701,0.837. Conclusion The revised MTS has good reliability and validity.

Objective:To analyze the therapeutic effect of atorvastatin combined irbesartan on arterial and ventricular remodeling in patients with essential hypertension (EH).Methods:A total of 114 EH patients of our hospital were selected.According to therapeutic protocol, they were divided into irbesartan group (n=72,only received irbesar-tan treatment)and combined treatment (n=42,received atorvastatin combined irbesartan therapy). After three-month treatment, carotid intima-media thickness (IMT),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDd),inter-ventricular septal thickness (IVST),left ventricular end-diastolic posterior wall thickness (LVPWTd)and wall mo-tion score index (WMSI)were compared between two groups.Blood pressure and blood lipid levels were compared between two groups. Results:Compared with irbesartan group, there were significant reductions in IMT [(0.98± 0.13)mm vs.(0.81±0.08)mm],LVEDd [(55.2±3.9)mm vs.(43.3±2.8)mm],IVST [(14.9±2.6)mm vs. (11.5±1.8)mm]and WMSI [(1.67±0.22)vs.(1.39±0.16)],P <0.05 all;there were significant reductions in levels of blood pressure [(144±12)/ (94±8)mmHg vs.(136±16)/ (86±8)mmHg],total cholesterol [(5.87 ±0.96)mmol/L vs.(4.53±0.57)mmol/L]and low density lipoprotein cholesterol [(3.46±0.59)mmol/L vs. (2.68±0.42)mmol/L],P <0.05 all,and significant rise in level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol [(0.87± 0.13)mmol/L vs.(1.36±0.24)mmol/L,P <0.05]in combined treatment group. Conclusion:Atorvastatin com-bined irbesartan can significantly improve blood lipid, arterial and ventricular remodeling in EH patients.

Objective To evaluate percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty ( PTRA) and stenting for the treatment of renal artery stenosis (RAS). Method From Feb 2003 through Jun 2005, 19 consecutive RAS patients received interventional therapy including PTRA and/or stents in 12 cases, aortorenal bypass procedures in 4 cases, nephrectomy in 1, and angiography in 2 cases. Among the 12 PTRA and/or stenting cases, stent was deployed in 10 cases, and 2 patients received PTRA only. Results All patients had hypertension preoperatively ( mean blood pressure 172/98 mmHg). Serum creatinine concentration was greater than 1.5 mg/dL in one patient. There was no perioperative mortality nor major complications. Technical success was achieved in 11 patients (91.7%). During follow-up, mean blood pressure was 156/88 mmHg. Hypertension was improved in 8 patients (66. 7% ). Renal function was stable except one patient with renal insufficiency. Restenosis was found in one patient (8.3%). Conclusion PTRA and/or stent is safe, effective for the treatment of RAS in appropriately selected patients.

Objective:To develop the Chinese version of the adolescent lifestyle profile-revised 2 (ALP-R2) and evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods:The original ALP-R2 was translated into Chinese edition, then tested by random sampling in middle school students.SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 17.0 were conducted exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ALP-R2.Results:(1) The Chinese version of ALP-R2 contained 43 items through item analysis, then exploring factor analysis showed that it contained 7 sub-scales(F1: health responsibility, F2: physical activity, F3: nutrition, F4: positive life perspective, F5: stress management, F6: spiritual health, F7: interpersonal relationships)with 40 items, and could explain 61.044% of the total variances. (2) The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revised ALP-R2 had good construct validity( χ2/ df=4.97, GFI=0.98, NNFI=0.97, CFI=0.90, RMSEA=0.12). The scores of various factors in ALP-R2 were significantly correlated with the total score of Chinese adolescent lifestyles scale(CALS)( r=0.38-0.65, all P<0.05). (3) Internal consistency reliability was 0.711-0.801, the test-retest reliability was 0.723-0.822, and split-half reliability was 0.708-0.845. Conclusion:The Chinese version of ALP-R2 has good reliability and acceptable validity, and can be used to evaluate the lifestyle of adolescents.
