Patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS,n=41)subjected to gastroscopy,patholo- gy,esophageal manometry and 24h pH monitoring. The records were compared with that of normal in- dividuals(n=30)to clarify the relation of esophageal motor function with esophageal complaints in cas- es with IBS.Results showed that 21/41 cases with IBS presented esophageal symptoms.Rate of abnor- mal endoscopic and pathologic findings in 6 of which was statistically higher than the control's; esophageal lower sphincter pressure in IBS with symptoms declined significantly than that without and the control;esophageal peristaltic velocity and duration increased with significance;no pressure differ- ence was detected in esophageal upper sphincter;total pH score ,fraction-time pH

OBJECTIVETo study the inhibitory effect of wogonin on the growth and proliferation of breast cancer cells MDA-MB-23, and observe its effect on the adhesion, migration and invasion of MDA-MB-23 cells, in order to further study its molecular mechanism.
METHODMTT assay was used to detect the effect of wogonin on MDA-MB-23 cell growth. Ki-67 assay was adopted to test the effect of wogonin on cell proliferation. Scratch test, adherence test and invasion chamber assay were taken to detect the effect on the migration and invasion abilities of MDA-MB-231 cells. Proliferation and metastasis-related proteins and relevant signaling pathways were detected by Western blotting.
RESULTWogonin could remarkably inhibit the growth and proliferation of MDA-MB-231 cells, significantly inhibit migration, adhesion and invasion abilities of breast cancer cells at a low concentration, and effectively inhibit the expression of Survivin, Bcl-2, ICAM-1, MMP-2, MMP-9 proteins of MDA-MB-231 cells.
CONCLUSIONWogonin could notably inhibit growth and proliferation of breast cancer cells, and inhibit migration, adhesion and invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells. Its invasive and adhesive effects on MDA-MB-231 cells may be related to the decrease in ICAM-1, MMP-2, MMP-9 expressions.

A magnetic extraction sorbent based on Fe3 O4@poly ( methacrylic acid-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) ( Fe3 O4@MAED ) was synthesized using methacrylic acid and ethylene dimethacrylate as monomer and cross-linker, respectively. The magnetic sorbent was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and transmission electron microscopy. At the same time, the Fe3 O4@MAED was used to extract four benzoylurea pesticides in water and juice samples under magnetic dispersive solid phase microextraction ( MDSPME ) format. To obtain the optimal extraction conditions, several parameters, including the amount of sorbent, desorption solvent, extraction and desorption time, pH value, and ionic strength in sample matrix were investigated. Based on this, a fast, simple and sensitive method for the determination of benzoylurea pesticides in water and juice samples was developed by the combination of MDSPME with HPLC equipped with diode array detector. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the developed method possessed expected linear dynamic ranges, coefficients of correlation ( R2>0. 99 ) and sensitivity. The limits of detection (S/N=3) for target analytes were 0. 10-0. 19 μg/L in water and 0. 12-0. 30 μg/L in juice, respectively. The RSDs for intra-day were less than 7% and inter-day RSDs were less than 11%. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of benzoylurea pesticides residues in water and juice samples and the recoveries of spiked target compounds were in the range of 69. 4%-118. 0%. The results demonstrated that the Fe3 O4@ MAED could extract benzoylurea pesticides effectively through multi-interactions including hydrophobic, hydrogen-bond and ion-exchange interactions between sorbent and analytes.

High resolution melting (HRM), an important technology for genotyping and mutation scanning, has broad prospects in the authentification of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper selected universal trnH-psbA primers and used HRM to establish a new methods for identification of Akebia herbs. PCR was conduct at the annealing temperature of 58 degrees C and 35 cycles. The range of the DNA template concentration, the primer concentration and the Mg2+ ion concentration were further analyzed. The results showed the Tm values of Caulis Akebiae was (81.84 ± 0.16), (85.28 ± 0.16) degrees C and Caulis Clematidis Armandii was (83.22 ± 0.19) degrees C and Caulis Aristolochiae manshuriensis was (81.67 ± 0.14) degrees C, (84.24 ± 0.10) degrees C with 5-125 mg - L-' DNA template, 0.4 μmol x L(-1) primer, 2.0 mmol x L(-1) Mg2+. This method can achieve the authentification of Akebia herbs and is simple, fast, high-throughput, visual.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2008;0(S1):-
Objective To analyze the effects and experience of ideological and political education through inquiring students' satisfaction on it,and to strengthen innovation and efficiency. Methods Five hundred and fifty university students were chosen by random.Through anonymous questionnaires, information on attention and satisfaction of ideological and political education about educate by all staff, campus culture, psychological status, and extracurricular activities were acquired. Results More than 56% of the students thought who impressed them most were the professional teachers;and 75.64% of them would ask friends for help when they were facing difficulties. And 44.91% considered study as the main resource of pressure, although the other 39.09% chose the career perspective.Then,57.45% were willing to take part in the meaningful activities after class, though the study was tough. And 45.45% hoped it would be a great progress on extracurricular activities;74% would take part in entertainment, and on the other hand 68.55% chose volunteer;and 87.72% interested in learning psychological knowledge. Conclusion It is important to strengthen and develop ideological and political education among students in the university. And attention should be paid to the innovation and efficiency of the education.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of acupuncture combined with training of the modified rehabilitation apparatus on upper limb motor function of patients with ischemic stroke.Methods86 patients with ischemic stroke were divided randomly into the treatment group ( treated by acupuncture combined with training of the rehabilitation apparatus) and the control group (treated by simple acupuncture). The upper limb motor function of two groups was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) before and after treatment.ResultsAfter 28 days treatment, scores of FMA of two groups were all raised significantly, but it was significantly greater for the treatment group than the control group (P<0.01).ConclusionIt is shown that acupuncture combined with training of the rehabilitation apparatus can improve the upper limb motor function and activity of daily living of patients with ischemic stroke.

A UPLC-ESI-MS/MS method was used to determinate the main active fractions gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, myricetrin, hyperoside and quercitrin in Polygonum capitatum extracts by in situ intestinal perfusion models; the absorption rate constants and cumulative penetration rate of absorption were calculated. The effect of different drug concentrations, different intestine segments, bile and P-gp inhibitors on the absorption mechanism of Gallic acid and other compositions in P. capitatum extracts. The experimental results showed that gallic acid, protocatechuic acid, myricetrin and quercitrin were observed saturated at high concentration (P < 0.05). Bile had significant inhibition effect on protocatechuic acid absorption and had promotion effect on myricetrin and hyperoside absorption (P < 0.05). P-gp inhibitor verapamil could significantly enhance the absorption of Protocatechuic acid (P < 0.05). The overall trend for absorption of various compositions was that small intestine > colon. This indicated that the absorption mechanism of P. capitatum extracts in rat intestine was in line with fist-order kinetics characteristics. The composition could be absorbed in all of the different intestinal segments, and the absorption was mainly concentrated in small intestine. The protocatechuic acid may be the substrate of P-gp.
