Breast calcification is a specific sign of nonpalpable early breast cancer, the accurate localization and biopsy can obviously improve the diagnosis rate of early breast cancer, and imaging-guided needle localization is the premise of accurate biopsy of breast calcification. As the recommended guidance,mammography-guided localization and biopsy has certain limitations in localizing and biopsying breast calcification,however,high-resolution uhrasound makes it possible to localize the nonpalpable calcification in breast, and which has a certain advantage.

Chinese Journal of Urology 2011;32(3):206-208
Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of 2 mg/d and 4 mg/d of terazosin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).Methods A total of 120 BPH patients were randomly divided into 2 groups receiving 2 mg or 4 mg terazosin per day for 2 months. Arterial blood pressure, International Prostatic Symptom Score (IPSS) and peak flow rate (Qmax) before and after treatment were compared while side effects were estimated. Results Forty-six patients receiving 2 mg and 54 patients receiving 4 mg terazosin completed this study. Patients' age and pre-treatment blood pressure, IPSS and Qmax had no difference between the 2 groups. The improvement of IPSS (including obstructive score, irritating score and total IPSS) and Qmax was significantly better in 4 mg group. The percentage of patients experiencing greater than 30% improvement in Qmax in the 4 mg treatment groups was significantly higher than that of the 2 mg group (46.3% vs 23.9%, P=0.02). Side effects were rare and mild in both groups. Conclusion The improvements of IPSS and Qmax are significantly greater in 4 mg treatment of terazosin than that of 2 mg with no obvious increase of side effects.

Objective To explore the relationships of quality of life ( QOL ) and functional status in patients with malignant bone tumors after operation. Methods European organization for research and treatment of cancer quality of life questionnaire C30 (EORTC-QLQ-C30), social support revalued scale (SSRS) and Karnofsky performance scale (KPS) were used to investigate the levels of QOL, social support and functional status. The correlations between them were explored. Results The overall score by QOL was (58.33 ± 18.94). The score by KPS was positively related to somatic function, role function, social function, and general health status (P<0.01), but negatively related to tiredness, pains, insomnia and financial burden (P<0.01). Conclusions The QOL in patients with malignant bone tumors after operation is at a lower level and the function is at a medium level. Nurses should assess the function and make out interventional measures for them so as to improve their QOL.

Objective To investigate the effects of p-cresol on human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Methods The effects of p-cresol on endothelial cell growth, cell cycle, cell morphological change and p21 protein were detected by the CCK-8 assay, flow cytometry assay, inverted microscope and Western blotting. Results P-cresol could inhibit the growth of human umbilical vein endothelial cells in dose-and time-dependent manners (all P < 0.05).The human umbilical vein endothelial cells treated with p-cresol became elongated processes, cloudy cytoplasm, and irregular shapes. The p-cresol stopped human umbilical vein endothelial cells at cell cycle G1 and had no effect on cell apoptosis. The p-cresol could increase protein expression of p21 in a dose dependent manner (P < 0.05).Conclusion P-cresol can increase protein expression of p21,induce cell cycle arrest at G1 stage and inhibit the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells.

Objective To investigate the curative effect of Quadrant channel transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(TLIF) in the treatment of recurrent lumbar disc herniation(RLDH).Methods Seventy-six cases patients with RLDH were divided into traditional TLIF group(36 cases) and Quadrant group(40 cases) by the different operation modes. The operation,VAS scores and ODI scores were compared between the two groups. Results Operation time((98.2±18.1) min vs.(118.5±27.2) min,t=3.79,P<0.05),incision length((2.7±0.6) cm vs.(5.5±1.0) cm,t=14.97,P<0.05),intraoperative blood loss((90.7±20.1) ml vs.(170.3±33.5) ml,t=12.71,P<0.05) and intraoperative drainage((43.8±12.4) ml vs.(117.1±28.9) ml,t=14.62,P<0.05) in Quadrant group were less than that in traditional TLIF group. The ambulation time((2.8±0.6) d vs.(6.8±1.1) d,t=19.95.P<0.05) and hospitalization time((7.1±2.0) d vs.(14.2±2.7) d,t=13.11,P<0.05) of Quadrant group were shorter than those of TLIF group.VAS scores in both groups were significantly decreased.VAS in Quadrant group was significantly lower than that in traditional TLIF group from 3 d to 6 months after operation((4.4±1.0,3.9±1.2,3.4±0.8,1.9±0.6,1.3±0.4) points vs.(5.0±1.4,4.5±1.1,4.1±0.9,3.6±0.7,2.5±0.6) points,P<0.05).ODI scores in both groups were significantly decreased.ODI in Quadrant group was significantly lower than that in traditional TLIF group from 1 d to 6 months after operation((36.7±7.1,33.4±6.2,30.7±4.1,27.8±5.3,24.5±5.4,18.4±4.7) points vs.(39.8±6.0,36.8±5.8,33.5±6.6,31.3±5.1,28.9±6.6,22.3±5.2) points,P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of RLDH by Quadrant channel TLIF has obvious curative effect, short operation time, less trauma, faster recovery and shorter hospital stay.

Objective To study the correlation between the main parameters and the effect of repression in MR fluid attenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR).Methods 0.5 unit was used in this experiment. The protein aqua of different material appearance and concentration was prepared.FLAIR was performed using the tube imitative experimented method and with different paramters. The best scan parameters were selected by comparison each other and their relativity was analysed. Results The best technical parameters:TR=4000~5000 ms,TE=90~100 ms,TI=1800~2000 ms.Conclusion TI is the key parameter in determining the repression effect,TR and TE only determine the scans time and layer number.FLAIR's repress result is stable, and it can estimate the protein content in the protein aqua.
