OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Guilingji Capsule (GC) on the fertility, liver functions, and serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) of adult male SD rats exposed by 900 MHz cell phone.

METHODSTotally 18 adult male SD rats and 36 adult female rats in child-bearing period were selected and randomly divided into three groups according to weight equilibrium principle, i.e., the normal group, the radiated group, and the GC group, 6 males and 12 females in each group. Male rats in the normal group and all female rats were not radiated. Male rats in the radiated group and the GC group received radiation for 4 h per day, lasting for 18 successive days. Rats in the GC group received GC suspension at the daily dose of 0. 15 g/kg by gastrogavage at the same time. Equal volume of normal saline was administrated to other male rats. Then male rats were mated with corresponding female rats from the 14th radiation night to the 18th radiation night in the ratio of 1:2. Male rats were killed following on the next morning of ending the radiation. Female rats were normally fed and then killed before delivery. The pregnant outcomes of female rats in responding groups (the rates of pregnancy and the number of death fetus, birth weight, body length, and tail length) were observed and compared. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate transferase (AST), AST/ALT, and LDH levels of the male rats were detected by colorimetry. Histological and morphological changes of liver were observed by HE staining.

RESULTSCompared with the normal group, the pregnancy rates of female rats decreased and the number of death fetus increased, the serum LDH level obviously increased in the radiated group (P < 0.05). Serum levels of ALT, AST, and AST/ALT were no significantly changed in the radiated group. The hepatocyte nuclear atrophy and cytoplasm vacuolar degeneration appeared. Compared with the radiated group, the pregnancy rates increased, the number of death fetus dropped, and the serum level of LDH decreased in the GC group (P < 0.05). There was no obvious change in serum levels of ALT, AST, or AST/ALT. The hepatocyte nuclear atrophy and cytoplasm vacuolar degeneration were significantly attenuated. The histomorphological structures recovered to normal basically in the GC group.

CONCLUSIONSThe pregnancy rates could be decreased, the number of death fetus increased, histomorphological structures abnormal, and serum LDH level increased by exposure toy GSM 900 MHz cell phone. GC could prevent and treat the aforesaid lesion. But there was no statistical difference in serum ALT or AST levels.

Objective To estimate clinical application of multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) for rapid prenatal detection of aneuploid abnormalities in amniotic fluid.Methods Totally 1229 amniotic fluid samples were collected from the pregnant women receving prenatal diagnosis for chromosomal abnormalities in Prenatal Diagnosis Center of Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital from October 2009 to December 2010.All the samples were investigated independently with both MLPA and G-band karyotyping to detect aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21.A comparison was followed the results acquired from two methods for evaluation of sensitivity and specificity of MLPA.ResultsThirtyeight aneuploidies were detected by G-band karyotyping,in which 34 were nonmosaic aneuploidies and 4were mosaic aneuploidies.MLPA and G-band karyotyping had consistent results in detecting the nonmosaic aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21. Among 4 mosaic aneuploidies detected by G-band karyotyping,2 were confirmed by MLPA independently.Conclusions The sensitivity and specificity of MLPA in detecting the nonmosaic aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21 were clinically acceptable.MLPA provides an efficient,reliable method for rapid detection of aneuploidies.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of double contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (DCUS) for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed to review the DCUS data of 26 patients which were diagnosed as gastric cancer by pathology in the third affiliated hospital of Kunming Medical University from October 2014 to July 2015.The analysis results were compared with postoperative pathology to get accuracy rates.Results The located accuracy,qualitative accuracy and accuracy at T phase of DUCS was 100％ (26/26),100％ (26/26) and 88.5％ (23/26),respectively.Compared with color doppler flow imaging (CDFI),the qualitative accuracy of DUCS was much higher (P ＜ 0.05).The accuracy of DUCS at T phase was higher than that of CDFI with no statistical significance (P ＞ 0.05) Conclusion DUCS has an important application value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of pulmonary rehabilitation therapy including respiratory exercise and vibration expectoration on patients with pulmonary infection after abdominal surgery.Methods A retrospective case control study was conducted.Seventy-six patients with pulmonary infection after abdominal surgery admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University from September 2015 to September 2016 were enrolled.According to whether accept the pulmonary rehabilitation therapy or not,the patients were divided into two groups.In the control group (n =35),the convemional expectoration method was adopted.The patients in pulmonary rehabilitation group (n =41) received both methods of the control group and pulmonary rehabilitation treatment,including respiratory exercise (effective cough,lip reduction breathing),respiratory exercise device (respiratory exerciser tri-ball),and vibrated expectoration.The 24-hour sputum volume,degree of comfort,inflammatory and pulmonary function parameters,and recovery situation were recorded in the two groups.Results ① There were no significant differences in the parameters of inflammation and pulmonary function before treatment between the two groups.After treatment,the white blood cell (WBC) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in both groups were significantly decreased,and the forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and FEV1/forced vital capacity (FVC) were significantly increased.The above changes in pulmonary rehabilitation group were more significant than those of the control group [WBC (× 109/L):11.12 ± 2.88 vs.13.42 ± 2.62 at 3 days,8.22 ± 1.48 vs.9.27 ± 1.92 at 5 days;CRP (mg/L):13.47 ± 4.77vs.16.03±4.94 at 3 days,9.69±1.56 vs.11.77±1.41 at 5 days;FEV1 (L):2.48±0.14 vs.2.29±0.16 at 3 days,FEV1/FVC:0.78±0.04 vs.0.75±0.04 at 3 days;all P ＜ 0.05].② The 24-hour sputum volume within 3 days of pulmonary rehabilitation group were significantly higher than that of the control group (mL:30.51 ± 4.15 vs.18.30 ± 3.64at 1 day,31.08±3.22 vs.20.37±3.20 at 2 days,29.03±2.55 vs.19.03±2.51 at 3 days,all P ＜ 0.01].③ In the pulmonary rehabilitation group,the recovery time of pulmonary infection symptoms (days:5.44 ± 1.45 vs.6.20 ± 1.55),the days of antibiotic use (days:12.61 ± 3.15 vs.15.03 ± 3.78),the time of getting out of the bed (days:4.05 ± 0.74vs.4.51±0.89),and the hospital days (days:19.95±3.90 vs.22.00±4.42) were significantly shorter than those of the control group (all P ＜ 0.05),and the degree of comfort was significantly better than that of the control group (comfort score:2.71 ±0.90 vs.2.14±0.91,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The application of pulmonary rehabilitation including respiratory exercise and vibration expectoration in abdominal surgery patients with pulmonary infection can promote recovery,and it has a good clinical and practical application value.

Objective:The application of a combined ultrasound and pneumatic lithotripter for cholelithiasis was investigated.Methods:A total of 59 cases of cholelithiasis diagnosed by ultrasonography and CT were included in the study.All the patients had surgical treatment from January 2013 to December 2015,in which 30 patients were treated with a combined ultrasound and pneumatic lithotripter protocol (EMS group),and 29 patients were treated with traditional choledochoscope protocol(control group).All the patients were followed up for 3 months postoperation.The outcomes of patients in EMS group and control group were compared.Results:The postoperative stone free rate after the first operation is higher in EMS group than in control group(P＜0.05).The operation time and total lengths of hospital stay were shorter in EMS group than in control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in intraoperative hematobilia rate,intraoperative bile duct injury rate,postoperative biliary tract infection rate,hepatic biochemical index and mortality between two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:The combined ultrasound and pneumatic lithotripter is useful for treatment of cholelithiasis.

Objective To investigate the mechanisms of action of adiponectin on receptor activator of NF-Kb ligand(Rankl) and osteoprotegerin (OPG)expressions in human osteoblasts.Methods Real-time PCR was used to detect the expressions of RANKL and OPG mRNA in cultured human osteoblasts. The phosphorylations of JNK, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) , ERK1/2 were assayed by Western blot. RNA interference for adiponectin receptor, MAPK inhibitors SB203580 and SP600125 were used for elucidating the mechanism of the action of adiponectin in regulating OPG and RANKL expressions. Results Suppression of adiponectin receptor-1 (AdR1) expression with siRNA abolished the adiponectin-regulated expressions of OPG and RANKL mRNA in human osteoblasts. Furthermore, pretreatment of osteoblasts with MAPK inhibitor SB203580 abolished the expressions of adiponectin-regulated RANKL and OPG mRNA, but SP600125 did not show the effect. Conclusion Adiponectin induces the expression of RANKL and inhibits the expression of OPG in human osteoblasts through AdR1/p38 MAPK pathways.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of preserving the ascending uterine artery in laparoscopic hysterectomy with traditional laparoscopic hysterectomy.Methods 112 patients with various kinds of uterine benign lesions performed by hysterectomy were randomly divided into the preserving the ascending uterine artery in laparoscopic hysterectomy group(observation group,n =60) and traditional laparoscopic hysterectomy group (control group,n =52),The operation time,the intra operative blood loss,the postoperative complications rate and the perimenopausal symptoms in two groups were compared as well as the levels of blood calcium and the levels of hormone before operation,the first month,the sixth month,the first year,and the third year after operation.Results The opreration time [(95.5 ± 22.8) win] and intraoperative blood soss [(81.3 ± 11.6) ml] of the observation group was more than those of the control group [(68.8 ± 7.2) ml] (t =3.772,4.418,all P ＜ 0.05).The postoperative abnormal uniation and defection (1.7％) and fever incidence (1.7％) of the observation group was lower than those of the control group (11.5 ％,13.5 ％) (x2 =4.623,5.843,all P ＜ 0.05).The estradiol level of the observation group began to fall in 6 months postoperative,and had significant differences compare with those of the control group 6 months,1 year,3 years after operation [(328.4 ± 13.4) pmol/L vs (304.8 ± 15.2) pmol/L,(311.3 ± 12.9) pmol/L vs (248.5 ±13.6)pmol/L,(258.3 ± 11.4)pmol/L vs (138.7 ± 12.7)pmol/L] (t =8.758,25.121,52.688,all P ＜0.05).There was significant difference in the level of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) between the two groups 1,3 years after operation(t =-90.540,-123.229,-14.757,-19.845,all P ＜ 0.01).There was significant difference in the level of calcium between the two groups 1,3 years after operation(t =3.261,3.050,all P ＜0.05).The perimenopausal symptoms of the observation group was less than those of the control group(x2 =6.142,3.471,4.976,6.646,4.633,all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic hysterectomy of preserving the ascending uterine artery is safe and reliable;the recently ovarian function of the patients with hysterectomy is to maximize the preservation in the treatment,the women's quality of life will be to improved.
