Objective To explore the effect of psychological intervention on knee osteoarthritis patients. Methods A total of 92 OA patients were included into a one-month randomized controlled followup study, 47 of them were treated with combined psychological intervention, the other 45 cases were routinely treated. All cases were investigated on their demographic information , physiological parameters and score of the short form-36 health survey questionnaires (SF-36), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS). Statistics method used t-test and variance analysis. Results There was no signi-ficant difference in terms of the physiologic parameters changes between before and after treatment (P＞0.05) of the two groups. ① The SDS scores of the two groups decreased gradually after the treatment (P＜0.05),while there was remarkable descending of SDS score in patients of psychological intervention group (P＜0.05). ② The SAS scores of the two groups decreased gradually after the treatment (P＜0.05). And there was no significant difference between the two groups (P＞0.05). Compared with the non-intervention group, the fourfactors scores including physical function, pain, vitality and role limitations due to emotional problems of the intervention group were significantly improved (P＜0.05). Anegative correlation was observed between SDS and PF, BP, GH, VT and SF (r=-0.739-0521,P＜0.05). SAS was correlated negatively with VT and SF (r=-0.699～-0.475,P＜0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention could ameliorate the depression of knee osteoarthritis patients. The quality of life of knee osteoarthritis patients can be improved by psychological intervention.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical value of serum prealbumin in patients with chronic schistosome.Methodsone hundred and twenty six patients with chronic schistosome in the Gastroenterology Department and 40 healthy people in the Physical Examination Center of the First Hospital of Wuhan were enrolledin the study.Serum prealbumin(PA) and albumin(ALB) in healthy controls and patients with chronic schistosome before therapy and 1 st,2 nd,4 th weeks after therapy were detected and analyzed.ResultsBefore therapy,PA and ALB [(223.9 ± 43.2)mg/L, (41.5 ± 5.8)g/L] of patient group were lower than that of the control group [(314.5 ± 53.6)mg/L,(47.2 ± 6.9)g/L,t =4.527,2.786,respectively,all P＜ 0.05].After therapy,PAs of patient group at the 1 st,2 nd,4 th weeks [(245.8 ± 41.7),(258.3 ± 47.2),(282.9 ± 49.3)mg/L] were higher than that before the therapy (t =3.092,3.789,4.230,all P ＜ 0.05).ALB of patient group at the 1 st,2 nd,4 th weeks [(41.1 ± 4.7),(41.4 ± 5.2),(44.8 ± 4.5)g/L] were not significantly different compaired to that before therapy(t =0.123,0.119,0.156,all P ＞ 0.05).ConclusionsPrealbumin could quickly and sensitively respond to the changes of liver function.It could be used in the judgment of curative effect and prognosis of patients with schistosome.

Objective To investigate the effects of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in severe cardiopaths with crisis. Methods Fourteen cases of severe eardiopaths with crisis were treated by ECMO with V A- ECMO technique, whose pump was centrifugal pump and whose tubes was spread byheparin. The cases included 8 fulminating myocarditis (FM) cases with ventricular arrhythmias or/and acute heart failure or/and cardiac shock and 6 acute myocardial infarction cases with pump failure or cardiac shock,in whom 10 cases with cardiorespiratory resuscitation. Haemodynamics and blood gas analysis, and so on were measured before and after treatment. Results The support time of ECMO was 3-106 h, mean (32.4±27.6) h. After ECMO mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDd), partial pressure of arterial oxygen, saturation of blood oxygen improved (P < 0.05 or < 0.01 ), negative value of base excess decreased significantly( P < 0.01 ). MAP had notchanged before and after stopping ECMO [ (80.02±10.20) wan Hg (1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa) vs (76.34±9.15) mm Hg] (P > 0.05), however, LVEF and LVEDd improved continually (P <0.05). Conclusion ECMO can provide oxygen supply and stable circulation volume for severe cardiopaths with crisis to recover cardiorespiratory function or save valuable time to treat primary disease.

AIM To investigate weather and how aminophylline induces human trachea smooth muscle cells (TSMCs) to apoptosis. METHODS Human TSMCs were isolated and cultured in DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum. Passage 4～6 cell were used in experiment. The cells were cultured with aminophylline or 8 Br cAMP for 24 or 48 h. Light micros copy and electron microscopy were used to observe morphological change. DNA fragmentation was analyzed by agarose gels electrophoresis. SP Immunohistological staing method was performed to detect the changes of expressions of p53,bcl 2 and bax gene. The apoptosis cell percentage were detected by situ end labeling technique(TUNEL) of fragmental DNA. RESULTS ①Aminophylline or 8 Br cAMP decreased the number of viable cells in time and concentration dependent manner; ② Electron microscopic examination showed nuclear contraction, chromatin condensation and apoptotic bodies formation in aminophylline group or 8 Br cAMP group; ③ Agarose gel electrophoresis of fragmented DNA showed a ladder like pattern; ④ The expression of p53 or bax gene in apoptosis group was significantly higher than in control group, but the expression of bcl 2 gene was lower than in control group; ⑤ The positive rate of TUNEL in aminophylline or 8 Br cAMP group was significantly higher than in control group ( P

AIM:To clarify if interferon-?(IFN-?), tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)and interleukin-1?(IL-1?)can induce apoptosis of human airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) in vitro. METHODS: Human ASMCs were isolated and cultured in DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum. Passage 4-6 cell was used in the experiment. IFN-?,TNF-? and IL-1?, were used separately or together in the treatment of human ASMCs. The effects of IFN-?,TNF-? and IL-1? on the growth of the cells was detected by MTT method at the hour 0,24,48 and 72. Light microscopy and electron microscopy were used to examine the morphological change. DNA fragmentation was analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis. SP immunohistological staing method was performed to detect the change of expressions of p53 , bcl-2 and bax gene. The apoptosis cell percentage were detected by in situ end labeling technique (TUNEL)of fragmental DNA. RESULTS: (1)IFN-? or IFN-? together with TNF-? and IL-1? decreased the number of viable cells in a time dependent manner. (2) Light and electron microscopic examination showed cell shrinkage, membrane blebbing, nuclear contraction, chromatin condensation and nuclear fragmentation in human ASMCs. (3) Agarose gel electrophoresis showed a characteristic"ladder"of DNA bands representing integer multiples of the internucleosomal fragments (about 180-200 bp) in cytokine cotreated human ASMCs. (4)The expression of p53 and bax gene in cytokine cotreated group was significantly higher than in control group, but the expression of bcl-2 gene was lower than in control group. (5)Stimultaneous treatment with IFN-?(4?10 5 U/L),TNF-?(4?10 5 U/L)and /or IL-1? (10?10 4 U/L) induced apoptosis of human ASMCs. Aim To evaluate the reversal effect of 2-deoxy-D-glucose ( 2-DG ) on multidrug resistance ( MDR) by observing the uptake change of 99m Tc-MIBI in HNE-1/DDP cells, and to explore its mechanism. Methods The uptake of 99m Tc-MIBI in HNE-1/DDP cells under different concentrations of 2-DG was detec-ted by γ-counter, and the clearance rates of 99m Tc-MI-BI in HNE-1 cells and HNE-1/DDP cells after treated with 2-DG (10 mmol·L-1 ) were compared. The con-tent of ATP in HNE-1/DDP cells was detected after treated with 2-DG. P-glycoprotein ( P-gp ) and multi-drug resistance-associated proteins ( MRP ) expression were measured by Western blot. Apoptotic HNE-1/DDP cells treated with DDP alone or combined with 2-DG (10 mmol·L-1 ) were detected by propidium io-dide ( PI ) staining. Results The clearance rate of 99m Tc-MIBI in HNE-1/DDP cells was 54. 8%, which was significantly higher than that ( - 41. 3%) in HNE-1 cells (P<0. 01). The clearance rate of 99mTc-MIBI in HNE-1/DDP cells was -203. 7% after treat-ment with 2-DG ( 10 mmol · L-1 ) , which could be significantly reduced compared with the control group ( P<0. 01 ) . The level of ATP was 55 . 69% compared with the negative control group and the expression of P-gp and MRP protein decreased dramatically in HNE-1/DDP. With the combination of 2-DG and DDP, the ap-optotic rate of HNE-1/DDP cells reached 49 . 4%which was significantly higher than DDP treated group (22. 5%) . Conclusion Multidrug resistance and the reversal effect of 2-DG on multidrug resistance could be evaluated effectively by detecting the uptake change of 99m Tc-MIBI in HNE-1/DDP cells. The mechanism may be related with the inhibition of ATP level and the re-duced expression of P-gp and MRP protein in cancer cells.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical effects of anterior cervical intervertebral space decompression under microscope in treating cervical spondylotic myelopathy in elderly patients.

METHODSFrom June 2009 to March 2012, 43 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy were treated with anterior cervical intervertebral space decompression and intervertebral fusion under microscope. There were 26 males and 17 females, aged from 60 to 72 years old with an average of (64.9±3.7) years. Japanese Orthopaedic Association System (JOA) score was from 7 to 12 points with an average of (9.5±1.8) points before operation. The function of nerves was assessed before and after operation according to JOA.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 10 to 18 months with an average of (14.7±1.6) months. Postoperative JOA score was (13.81±1.44) points (ranged, 10 to 16), had significantly higher than preoperative (P<0.01). According to the rate of the improved JOA score, 9 cases got excellent results, 26 good, 7 fair, 1 poor.

CONCLUSIONAnterior cervical intervertebral space decompression under microscope for cervical spondylotic myelopathy in elderly patients is safe and effective.

Objective To prepare the rabbit abdominal aorta atheromatous plaque model ,and to monitor its forming process by ultrasound .Methods Totally 60 Japanese male white rabbits(mdel group ,dead 6 rabbits) fed by high fat diet and the abdominal a‐orta atheromatous plaque formation process was monitored by ultrasound ,20 normal rabbits were taken as control .The abdominal aorta atheromatous plaque was finally confirmed by pathology .Results 52 rabbits in the model group were successful in preparing the abdominal aortic plaque model .The thickness of intima‐media complex was obviously higher than that of the control group .Con‐clusion High fat diet is an effective method for preparing the rabbit atherosclerosis model .The arterial atheromatous plaque forma‐tion is the typical characteristic of atherosclerosis .The high frequency ultrasound can better evaluate the formation process and con‐dition of rabbit abdominal aorta atheromatous plaque .

A patient suffering Madelung's disease was treated and the literatures were reviewed in this article. The cause, the clinical features and treatment were discussed. The cause of this disease is unknown, and it is characterized by symmetrical accumulation of fat around the neck,nape and armpit having a appearance of "horse collar"or "hump back". Histological analysis revealed typical fat tissue depositing around the structures. Surgery is the main means of treatment, and prognosis is good.

A simple and convenient procedure for stereoselective synthesis of (Z)-allyl selenides has been developed by a one-pot reaction of diselenides with Baylis-Hillman adducts in the presence of samarium metal-trimethylsilyl chloride under mild conditions. Presumably, the diselenides are cleaved by Sm/TMSCl system to form selenide anions, which then undergo S(N)2' substitution of Baylis-Hillman adducts to produce the (Z)-allyl selenides.
