Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology 2010;26(1):130-133
Objective To discuss the CT and MR imaging appearances and diagnostic value of spinal lymphoma. Methods Sixteen patients with pathologically proved spinal lymphoma (aged 8 to 63 years) were retrospectively reviewed. CT were performed in all 16 patients, and MRwere performed in 12 patients. Results Totally 65 vertebrae (cervical 15, thoracic 22, lumbar and sacrum 28) were involved. Multiple lesions were found in 11 patients. The characters of these lesions were osteolytic, osteogenic or mixed on CT. The signal intensity was hypo or iso on T1WI and iso or slightly hyper on T2WI. The extradural involvements were more extensive than that of the vertebrae both on CT and MR images. Conclusion Lesions of spinal lymphoma usually demonstrate various bone destructions on CT, and hypo or iso intensity on T1WI as well as iso or slightly hyper intensity on T2WI, tending to involve paraspinal or extradural space, and longitudinal involvements are often seen along the vertebral canal. MRI is more sensitive than CT in detecting spinal lymphoma lesions.

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;33(4):368-376
GDP-mannose-3', 5' -epimerase (GME), which converts GDP-mannose into GDP-L-galactose, is essential for the biosynthesis of L-ascorbic acid in higher plants. The molecular characterization of two GME genes from rice has been reported. Firstly, both cDNAs were isolated from the rice mature leaves using RT-PCR technique. By comparing their sequences with homologues from other plants, it was found that GME genes were highly conserved among plant species, though phylogenetic study showed that all known GMEs could be divided into two distinct groups corresponding to monocots and dicots. Secondly, the genomic organization of rice OsGME genes was investigated, and a similarity of splice patterns was revealed. Finally, the expression patterns of the two cDNAs have been studied in various tissues and under different stress conditions by semiquantitative RT-PCR assay. The results showed that the OsGME1 transcript was up-regulated in response to cold stress, and gibberellin might regulate L-ascorbic acid levels by affecting transcription of both OsGME genes.

Objective To understand the clinical characteristics of systemic lupus erythematosus with Antiphospholipid syndrome (SLE-APS).Methods The clinical data of 39 cases of SLE-APS were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results Thirty-one patients had 48 thrombosis episodes in total, among which the most common presenting manifestations were deep venous thrombosis and stroke. 12 of 26 married women had fetal morbidity. The prevalence of anticardio lipin antibody (aCL) and lupus anticoagulant ( LA) was 72% and 41% , respectively. 24 patients had SLE at first,on an average of 9. 5 years later they had the characteristics of APS, 12 patients had thrombosis episodes or fetal morbidities ,4. 8 years later they developed into SLE,and 3 patients had the characteristics of SLE and APS from the onset The SLEDAI was less than 5 in five cases when they had thrombosis episodes or fetal morbidities. Conclusions The incidence of thrombosis episodes or fetal morbidities increased in SLE-APS patients. APS occurred before, after or at the same time with SLE. SLE patients might have the clinical features of APS during the steady stage. It's very important to ask the medical history in detail and measure aCL in lupus patients to find the risk factor of APS and prevent the APS' occurrence.

Objective:To prepare compound mupirocin film forming gel and establish the quality control methods. Methods:The compound film forming gel was prepared using tannic acid and salicylic acid as the esterifying agents interacting with hydroxypropyl cel-lulose followed by cross-linking with tartaric acid and sorbitol to form a new film forming material, and then antimicrobial mupirocin and anesthetic dyclonine were added to prepare compound mupirocin film forming gel. The contents of mupirocin and dyclonine were deter-mined by HPLC. The column was Hypersil ODS2 (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5 μm) and the mobile phase consisted of methanol-ammonium acetate buffer (1. 15 g ammonium acetate, 300 ml water, 1 ml glacial acetic acid) (75 :25). The flow rate was 1. 0 ml·min-1 and the detection wavelength was 230 nm. The column temperature was 30℃ and the injection volume was 20μl. Results:The film form-ing gel was yellow, brown and gelatinous at the normal temperature, and formed transparent film after coating on the skin. The linear range of mupirocin and dyclonine was 20-400μg﹒ml-1(r=0. 9999) and 10-200μg﹒ml-1(r=0. 9996), respectively. The aver-age recovery was 99.9%(RSD=0.54%, n=9) and 99.6%(RSD =1.45%, n =9), respectively. Conclusion: The preparation process is reasonable, simple and controllable in the preparation of ideal film forming gel.
