Objective To optimize the exposure parameters and reduce the irradiation dose level in infants and young children during digital radiography (DR) chest radiography under the premise of satisfied image quality. Methods The thoracic thickness of 100 patients were measured.Determined the aluminum equivalent of the thoraxes of the infants and young children by comparing the grayscale value and the aluminum step wedge.Another 100 infants and young children of experimental exposure were performed with the aluminum step wedge as a phantom, under AEC control,kV was the only variant to explore the optimal exposure parameters with dose monitor simultaneously. At last, clinical validation was performed.Images quality was compared with x2 test. The radiation dose of two groups was compared with t test. Results The maximum, minimum, average thoracic thickness and their correspondent aluminum equivalent were 13.5 and 2.3 cm,8.0 and 1.4 cm,(10.6 ± 1.3) and 2.0 cm,respectively. The average thoracic thickness of experimental group was (10.1 ± 2.2) cm.The range of entrance surface dose was 0.068-0.056 mGy while the tube voltage range was 55-65 kV.The exposure index range was 0.60-0.74.The visual inspection of aluminum step wedge was from grades 8 to 11 with satisfying image quality at lower radiation. The infant chest X-ray photography exposure parameters formula have been optimized, that was kV =thoracic thickness (cm) × 2 + 38 (constant),mAs (0.8-1.0) with SID =100 cm,without filter grid.Compare to the conventional parameters, the image quality of new method had no significant differences (P > 0.05).The actual average entrance surface dose was (0.048 ± 0.007) mGy,lower than AEC group (0.066 ± 0.008) mGy.The difference was statistically significant (t =16.781,P < 0.001).Conclusions The optimized formula kV =thoracic thickness (cm) ×2 + 38(constant),mAs (0.8-1.0) with SID =100 cm was credible for lowering the radiation exposure with good image quality for clinical diagnosis.

A series of isoindoline derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their double inhibitory activities. All of them were new compounds, and their structures were confirmed by 1H NMR and HR-MS. Preliminary in vitro pharmacological tests showed that all compounds exhibited 5-HT or NE reuptake inhibition activity. Among the tested compounds, compound I-3 exhibited potent inhibitory activity against 5-HT and NE reuptake in vitro, and exhibited potent antidepressant activity in vivo. These compounds designed can be further optimized for finding more potent 5-HT/NE dual reuptake inhibitors and antidepressant candidates as well.

AIM To establish a quantitative analysis of multi-components by single-marker (QAMS) method for the simultaneous content determination of five constituents in Roudoukou-8 Powder (Myristicae Semen,Auck landiae Radix,Lignum aquilariae Resinatum,etc.).METHODS The analysis of 75% methanol extract of this drug was performed on a 30 ℃ thermostatic Apollo C18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm,5 μm),with the mobile phase comprising of methanol-0.1% phosphoric acid flowing at 1.0 mL/min in a gradient elution manner, and the detection wavelengths were set at 225,254,273,281 nm.With eugenol as an internal standard, the relative correction factors of the other four constituents were calculated, after which the content determination was made.RESULTS Ellagic acid, eugenol, costunolide, dehydroroma lactone, dehydrodiisoeugenol showed good linear relationships within the ranges of 0.227 0-1.135 2,5.272 2-26.361 0,0.540 8-2.704 0,0.530 4-2.652 0,0.059 0-0.299 5 μg (r >0.999 0),whose average recoveries (RSDs) were 96.37% (2.07%),102.19% (2.78%),101.66% (1.66%),103.46% (1.17%),98.25% (1.98%),respectively.The results obtained by QAMS approximated those obtained by external standard method.CONCLUSION This stable and reliable method can be used for the quality control of Roudoukou-8 Powder.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: A large number of studies have shown that function constipation (FC) has an extremely high incidence of mental and psychological disorders. Cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) was applied to the treatment of psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression. We explored the effects of CES combined with biofeedback therapy (BFT) on the psychological state, clinical symptoms, and anorectal function in patients with FC. METHODS: A total of 74 patients with FC were randomly divided into 2 groups. The control group received BFT. CES combined with BFT was carried out in the experiment group. All patients were assessed using the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), and Wexner constipation score at baseline and the end of each course. Anorectal manometry and balloon expulsion tests were performed before and after treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, the participants in the experiment group had significantly lower score SAS, SDS, and Wexner constipation scores than the control group (all P < 0.05). The number of successful expulsion in the experiment group was larger than the control group (P = 0.016). CONCLUSIONS: CES combined with BFT was effective in improving the psychological status of anxiety, depression, and bowel symptoms in patients with FC.

Aim To observe the protective effect of ginsenoside Re pretreatment on rats with isoproterenol-induced acute myocardial ischemia via JAK 2/STAT3 signaling pathway .Methods SD rat model with acute myocardial ischemia was established using isoprotere-nol.Seventy-five rats were randomly divided into five groups: control group, model group , puerarin group (PUE), high dose group (Re-H, 20 mg· kg -1) and Re low-dose group ( Re-L, 10 mg kg -1 ) .The blood flow on the heart surface of rats in each group was ob-served by moor laser blood flow imaging system .The levels of CK , LDH, SOD, MDA and GSH in myocar-dium were measured by ELISA .The expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins were detected by immunohistochem-istry.The expressions of JAK , p-JAK, STAT3 and p-STAT3 proteins were detected by Western blot .Re-sults Compared with the control group , the mean blood flow on the heart surface of rats in the model group significantly decreased , the levels of CK , LDH and MDA in the myocardium increased , the levels of GSH and SOD decreased , the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax de-creased ( P <0.05 ) , and the expression of JAK 2/STAT3 pathway related proteins was enhanced ( P <0.05 ) . The mean blood flow on the heart surface markedly increased , the levels of CK , LDH and MDA decreased , the level of GSH-Px increased , the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax increased, and the expression of JAK2/STAT3 pathway proteins evidently increased in the Re-H group compared with those of the model group ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion Ginsenoside Re pretreatment has a good protective effect on the myocardium in rats with acute myocardial ischemia , which may be related to the activation of JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway .

BACKGROUND:The connection between high-level central nervous system and spinal cord and peripheral nerve under injury level is blocked by traumatic spinal cord injury, and the whole function of the body is thereby influenced. The loss of motor function and feeling both severely affect the patient's life quality in views of physiology, psychology, function and social economics.RNA interference is an effective method to silence target genes, which provides a new treatment strategy for spinal cord injury.OBJECTIVE:To explore the application status of RNA interference in spinal cord injury.METHODS:PubMed and CNKI databases were retrieved using the keywords of "RNA interference,RNAi,spinal cord injury" in English and Chinese, respectively. The articles addressing the application of RNA interference in spinal cord injury were collected and reviewed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Totally 44 articles were enrolled. It is urgent to find a new way to treat spinal cord injury.Compared with the traditional gene silencing technology,RNA interference owing to high specificity, high efficiency, high stability and high penetrability is considered to be a new direction for the studies on the pathogenesis and treatment of spinal cord injury.
