0.05).The grade of antibiotics tended to decline with the increase in of dressing change freqnency so it could decrease the expenditure of antibiotics.The rate of fungal infection lowered while hospitalization did not appear to be prolonged.CONCLUSIONS After the analysis of the use of antibacterials for burn patients,we find that the proper use of antibiotics and the increase in dressing change would lower the grade of antibiotics and expenditure,at the same time they do not increase the rate of bacterial infection and fungal infection,and do not prolong the duration of patients hospitalization time.

AIM:To explore whether histamine can regulate the expression of early growth response factor-1 (Egr-1) in the cerebral cortex astrocytes.METHODS:Normal wild-type (WT) mice, histidine decarboxylase knockout ( HDC-KO) mice and histamine treated HDC-KO mice were sacrificed for extracting the total RNA of the cerebral cortex. Primary cultured rat cortical astrocytes were treated with histamine at concentrations of 10 -8 , 10 -7 , 10 -6 , 10 -5 or 10 -4 mol/L for 15, 30, 60, 120 or 240 min.H1 or H2 receptor antagonists were pretreated for 15 min before histamine treat-ment.After histamine treatment, the cell total RNA or protein was extracted.The expression of Egr-1 at mRNA and protein levels was determined by real-time PCR and Western blot.RESULTS:The mRNA level of Egr-1 in cerebral cortex of HDC-KO mice was significantly lower than that in WT mice, while exogenous histamine induced the mRNA expression of Egr-1 in HDC-KO mice.In cultured astrocytes, histamine induced the mRNA expression of Egr-1.The maximum increase in the mRNA level of Egr-1 was produced by histamine at concentration of 10 -5 mol/L.In addition, histamine-induced Egr-1 mRNA accumulation peaked at 30 min after commencing stimulation, while histamine significantly increased Egr-1 protein expression at 60 min.Furthermore, histamine-induced Egr-1 expression was inhibited by H1 receptor antagonist but not H2 receptor antagonist.CONCLUSION:Histamine up-regulates the Egr-1 expression in cerebral cortex and cultured astrocytes, which may attribute to H1 receptor activation.

Objective To determine the independent risk factors for sepsis in patients with large area burns.Methods The study enrolled 307 patients with large area burns treated from June 2014 to June 2015.Related variables included age,gender,visit time,emergency eschar open,burn index,tangential excision of eschar during shock stage,delayed resuscitation during shock stage,oxygen pressure(PaO2),carbon dioxide pressure (PaCO2),assisted ventilation mode,mechanical ventilation time,inhalation injury,prophylactic tracheotomy,continuous lactic acid rise,refractory hypernatremia,heart-lung disease history,and diabetes history.Correlation of the variables with the incidence of sepsis was observed.Independent predictors of sepsis in patients with large burns were differentiated using the Logistic regression analysis.Results Delayed resuscitation during shock period (OR =1.747,95％ CI 1.822-7.431,P ＜ 0.05),continuous lactic acid rise (OR =1.758,95％ CI 1.137-4.002,P ＜ 0.05),refractory hypernatremia (OR =2.985,95％ CI 1.074-6.782,P ＜ 0.05),moderate and severe inhalation injury(OR =14.764,95％ CI 0.892-47.323,P ＜ 0.05) and burn index (OR =5.017,95％ CI 1.075-23.572,P ＜ 0.05) were found be independently associated with sepsis in patients with large burns.Conclusions These independent risk factors for sepsis in large area burn patients deserve more attention.Early and timely treatment measures may reduce the incidence of sepsis.

Objective To analyze the correlation between septal branch characteristics and the prognosis of alcohol septal ablation ( ASA ) in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy . Methods The clinical , echocardiographic , angiographic and procedural characteristics were analyzed retrospectively in 55 patients.Good prognosis was defined as left ventricular outflow tract gradient decreased by 50%at long term follow-up.The characteristics of septal branch were analyzed in terms of QCA .Results There were no differences in the length of the ablated septal branch , sizes of the adjacent branches , distances between the septal branch and the ostia of the coronary arteries and the volume of alcoholo consumed ( all P>0.05).Compared with poor prognosis group (n =27), the diameter of the ablated septal branches were significantly larger in the good prognosis group ( n=28 ) [ ( 1.75 ±0.36 ) mm vs.( 1.48 ±0.41 ) mm, P=0.012].The distance between the ablated branch and its adjacent branch was farer in the good prognosis group [(18.80 ±10.20)mm vs.(13.04 ±6.65)mm, P=0.020].In multivariate analysis, the diameter of the ablated branch (OR 9.258,95%CI 1.427-60.069, P=0.020)and the distance between the ablated septal branch and its adjacent septal branch (OR 1.102,95% CI 1.002-1.213, P =0.046) were found to be independent risk factors for good prognosis of ASA .Conclusions The diameter of the ablated septal branch and the distance between its adjacent septal branch are associated with better prognosis of ASA .

The effect of low temperature storage on dormancy breaking, sprouting and growth after planting of Tulipa edulis was studied. The results showed that starch content and activity of amylases significantly decreased during 10 weeks of cold storage, soluble protein content raised at first then decreased, and the peak appeared at the 6th week. However, total soluble sugar content which in- creased slowly at first than rose sharply and reducing sugar content increased during the storage duration. The bulbs with cold storage treatment rooted in the 6th week, which was about 2 weeks earlier than room temperature storage, but there were less new roots in the late period of storage. After stored at a low temperature, bud lengths were longer than that with room temperature treatment. Cold storage treatment could promote earlier emergence, shorten germination time, prolong growth period and improve the yield of bulb, but rarely affect the emergence rate. It was not beneficial to flowering and fruiting. The results indicated that 6-8 weeks of cold storage was deemed to be the key period of dormancy breaking preliminary.

The study was conducted to explore the response of growth and yield of Tulipa edulis to flower bud removal and artificial pollination. And flower bud removal and artificial pollination were carried out in the squaring period and bloom stage respectively. The morphological index and biomass indicators were determined and the yield was counted in harvest time. Result showed that flower bud removal was beneficial to the growth of T. edulis, resulting in increasing growth index, biomass as well as the yield of bulb. The diameter and dry weight of T. edulis fruit by artificial pollination were increased significantly compared with the control. Seed setting percentage increased to 100%, and the number of seed as well as the single grain weight increased by 69.03% and 16.48%, respectively, which did not significantly affect the bulb production. In conclusion, Flower bud removal treatment accelerates bulb biomass increase, so as to improve its yield. Artificial pollination raised significantly seed setting percentage, seed number as well as the single grain weight.

Objective To compare epididymis-sparing orchiectomy (group A) with traditional orchiectomy (group B ) in patients with advanced prostate cancer,and to evaluate which procedure is better.Methods A total of 60 cases of advanced prostate cancer patients were enrolled,with 30 cases in group A and 30 cases in group B.They were given oral anti-androgen from 1 day after castration.Serum level of testosterone and prostatic specific antigen (PSA) was detected before castration,and 1 week,1,3,6,9 and 12 months after castration.Patient satisfaction was also evaluated.Results On time point of 12 months after castration,the average level of serum testosterone was 0.2 nmol/L (95 ％ confidence interval,0.1 ～ 0.9 nmol/L) in group A and 0.3 nmol/L (95％ confidence interval,0.2 ～ 0.9 nmol/L) in group B (P ＞0.05 ) ; the average value of PSA was 0.22 ng/ml in group A and 0.27 ng/ml in group B (P ＞0.05 ) ; patient satisfaction rate was 96.7％ (29/30) in group A and 53.3％ (16/30) in group B.Conclusions No significant difference of testosterone level and PSA is found between the 2 groups.However,epididymis-sparing orchiectomy meets the psychological needs better because it helps to maintain the appearance of the scrotum through epididymis preservation and epididymoplasty.

OBJECTIVETo observe the inhibitory effect of different extract fractions from Longdan Xiegan decoction on biofilms of Candida albicans, and discuss its possible mechanism.

METHODThe micro-dilution method and the XTT reduction assay were adopted to explore the antifungal activity of different extract fractions from Longdan Xiegan decoction and detect the inhibitory effect of different extracts on biofilms of C. albicans. The expression quantity of the adhesion related gene ALS1 and hypha formation SUN41 were detected by qRT-PCR.

RESULTThe MICs of extracts from Longdan Xiegan decoction, including petroleum ether, water, butanol, methanol and ethyl acetate, against C. albicans were > 1 000, > 1 000, > 1 000, 125, 125 mg x L(-1). The SMIC50 against biofilms of C. albicanswere > 1 000, > 1000, > 1 000, 500, 500 mg x L(-1). The SMIC50 were > 1 000, > 1 000, > 1 000, > 1 000 and 1 000 mg x L(-1). 1 000 mg x L(-1) ethyl acetate extracts could considerably inhibit the expression of the adhesion related gene ALS1 and hypha formation SUN41.

CONCLUSIONThe ethyl acetate extract showed the greatest activity against Candida albicans biofilms.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of risperidone treatment on behavioral disorders in children with autism.

METHODSForty children with behavioral disorders (aged from 5 to 12 years) were treated with risperidone for 8 weeks. The behavioral symptoms were evaluated by the Clinical Global Impression (CGI) and the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) before and after the treatment. The adverse events related to risperidone treatment were observed.

RESULTSThe score of severity of illness and the ATEC total scores were significantly reduced 8 weeks after risperidone treatment. Besides the social intercourse ability, great improvements have been shown on the verbal communication, apperception and behavioural symptoms by the ATEC. No severe adverse events related to risperidone treatment were observed.

CONCLUSIONSRisperidone can significantly improve the behavioral disorders in children with autism and is well-tolerated.
