Objective To investigate the expression and significance of E-cadherin and β-catenin in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma.Methods The expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin were detected by immunohistochemistry in 60 patients with type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma and 10 normal endometrial tissues.The patients were followed-up postoperatively for the survival rate.Results Expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin in 10 normal endometrial tissues was all high expression,while those of both abnormal expression in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma with expression rates with 60.0 ％ (36/60) and 55.0 ％ (33/60),respectively,which were difference compared with both in normal endometrial tissues (P ＜ 0.05).The expression rates were markedly decreased in carcinoma with lymph node metastasis than those without lymph node metastasis.The proportions of abnormal expressions of E-cadherin and β-catenin were positively correlated with tumor grade and myometrial invasion in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma (P ＜ 0.05).The postoperative two-year survival rate in the patients with abnormal expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin were much lower than those with normal expression (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Abnormal high expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin may play important roles on generation and metastasis in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma.Both of them may be promising method for predicting invasion and metastasis and can be prognostic predictors in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma.

This paper focuses on the quality risk control and management of Chinese medicine (CM) injections. The most important technological requirements are analyzed, and a strategy for integrated pharmacology to study CM mechanism is proposed. A key technology system for quality risk control and management was further constructed. The strategy and technology system was finally applied to Shengmai injection for quality risk control and management.

BACKGROUND: Compared with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs),human umbilical cord blood (hUCB)-MSCs possess many advantages,including easy acquirement,low immunogenicity,able to tolerance a higher degree of HLA-matching inconsistency,and with higher purity.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the method and condition for in vitro isolation,purification,proliferation,and osteoblast and lipoblast differentiation of hUCB-MSCs.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: The present observational experiment was performed in the Key National Laboratory of Biological Treatment,Huaxi Hospital,Sichuan University (i.e.,Institute of Stem Cells and Tissue EngIneering) between September 2004 and November 2005.MATERIALS: Neonatal cord blood at gestational age 37 to 40 weeks.METHODS: hUCB-MSCs were collected in aseptic condition,isolated by density gradient centrifugation,sedimenting red cells with methylcellulose followed by density gradient centrifugation,or immunomagnetic beads negative technique of CD34+.Theisolated MSCs were used to carry on plastic adherent culture in L-DMEM +10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) or MesencultTM medium +10% FBS.The third passage of cells were used for surface antigen determination by flow cytometry and induced to differentiate towards osteoblasts and lipoblasts.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ①Identification of hUCB-MSCs.②Confirmation of hUCB-MSC differentiation by alizarin red and oil red staining.RESULTS: The mononuclear cells isolated by sedimented and centrifuged way cultured in MesencultTM medium +10% FBS were most available.Obvious colonies appeared in the third passage.The cells obtained by only centrifugation in density gradient were hard to form colony,and those isolated by immunomagnetic beads were hard to culture.The surface antigens of these colony cells presented CD29,CD59,and CD71,hut did not express CD34,CD45,and HLA-DR,and so on.After alizarin red staining,osteoblast-differentiating colony cell cytoplasm exhibited mineralized matrices.After old red staining,lipoblast-differentiating colony cell cytoplasm was full of lipid vacuoles.CONCLUSION: The MSCs can be successfully isolated by sedimenting red cells with methylcellulose followed by centrifugation and cultured in MesencultTM medium +10% FBS.Obvious colony growth appears in the third passage.After induction,the MSCs can differentiate into osteoblasts and lipoblasts.

AIM: To explore a new compute tomography (CT) for the localization of intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs).METHODS: After CT ocular horizontal and ocular axial scan,the foreign bodies on the eyeball wall or retinal surface in 26eyes were localized by means of the combination of CT ocular axial scan and meridian plane reconstruction (new method),ocular horizontal scan and ocular axial scan (conventional method Ⅰ) as well as ocular horizontal scan right angle coordination (conventional method Ⅱ) separately. According to the criteria of indirect ophthalmoscope localization and direct observation during operation, the relative accuracies of corresponding points of the foreign bodies on sclera surface along meridian and latitude were measured.RESULTS: In the 26 cases, the mean relative accuracies of corresponding points of foreign bodies on sclera surface along meridian and latitude were 1.53mm、1.64mm (new method), 1.37mm、1.64mm (conventional method Ⅰ) and 2.02mm、2.55mm (conventional method Ⅱ) respectively.There was no statistical difference between the new method and the conventional method Ⅰ, whereas there was statistical difference between the new methods and the conventional method Ⅱ (along meridian: P＜0.05; along latitude:P＜0.01).CONCLUSION: Compared with the conventional methods,the new method is simpler, more visible and more potential in the clinic.

Objective To investigate the value of ~1H-MRS in the diagnosis and prognosis of diffuse axonal injury(DAI).Methods A prospective imaging study was performed in 63 patients with craniocerebral injury admitted from October 2002 to April 2004.Sixty-three patients were divided into DAI group(27 cases)and Non-DAI group(36 cases)according to the result of the MRI.Then,the ratio of NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr,mINs/Cr,and GIx/Cr at basal ganglia and genu and splenium of corpus callosum was quantified using ~1H-MRS and compared between DAI group and Non-DAI group.Twenty healthy persons were served as control group.The relation between ~1H-MRS indexes and period of primary uneonciousness post-injury was analyzed.Results The results of NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr at genu and splenium of corpus callosum and basal ganglia of control group were 1.19?0.18,1.21?0.24;1.89?0.17,1.84?0.14; 1.57?0.16,1.85?0.25,which of DAI group were 0.83?0.24,2.92?0.78;1.25?0.35,2.54? 0.42;1.33?0.17,2.38?0.44,and those of Non-DAI group were 1.11?0.23,1.61?0.33;1.61? 0.22,1.93?0.26;1.49?0.23,1.89?0.29.The differences between them were statistically significant (P

The fast development of the molecular biology and the further research on the nucleic acid set a solid foundation for the development of genosensor.Genosensor is the result of combining molecular biology with microelectronics,electrochemistry,optics and etc,which will build a bridge between the life science and the information science and become one of the most important technologies for DNA information analysis and detection.The working principle,classification of genosenor and the recent research on its application in the detection of functional genes of environmental microorganisms are discussed according to the latest literature.And it is pointed out that the application in the determination of microorganism functional genes in compost is an important development orientation of genosensor.

Objective To compare the effects of hepatic vein occlusion with tourniquet and Satinsky clamp in reseeting liver tumor involving the second hepatic portal.Methods From Jan 2003 to Jun 2006,180 patients underwent major liver resection with the selective hepatic vascular exclusion (SHVE).According to methods of hepatic vein occlusion,they were divided into two groups:Occlusion with tourniquet(tourniquet group,n=95)and occlusion with Satinsky clamp(Satinsky clamp group,n= 85).In tourniquet group,the hepatic veins were encircled and occluded with tourniquet,and in Satinsky clamp group,the hepatic veins were not encircled and clamped directly with Satinsky clamp.Data regarding the intraoperative and postoperative courses of the patients were analyzed.Results There was no difference between the two groups regarding the operating time,ischemia time,intraoperative blood loss and postoperative complications rate.The dissecting time of hepatic veins was significantly shorter in Satinsky group(6.2?2.4 min vs 18.3?6.2 min).lu the tourniquet group,five hepatic veins(one fight hepatic vein and four common trunk of left-middle hepatic veins)could not be dissected and encircled because of the tumors involving the cava hepatic junction.Another patient's common trunk of left-middle hepatic vein was inadvertently lacerated during the dissection.Hepatic veins in these 6 patients were occluded with Satinsky clamp successfully.Conclusion Occlusion with Satinsky clamping is safer and easier procedure than tourniquets in the resection of liver tumor involving the second porta hepatis.

RESULTSThe studies of meridians in the past dozens years at home and abroad have gradually formed four main theories, namely the nerve-conduction meridian theory of neurophysiology, body fluid circulation meridian theory of the physio-biochemistry, bio-field meridian theory of biophysics, and the connective tissue structure meridian theory of the overall-gap viewpoint, which are summarized and analyzed.
