Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Addition of oxygen-vectors(n-dodecane,n-hexane,hydrogen peroxide) to fermentation medium was recognized as a method of enhancing oxygen transfer and promoting lycopene yield by Blakeslea trispora fermentation.Higher lycopene production was observed in shake flask containing 1%(v/v) n-hexane,n-dodecane and 150 L/100mL hydrogen peroxide as compared to shake flasks without oxygen-vectors.The result of assays indicated that when oxygen-vectors (n-dodecane,n-hexane,1%,v/v) and hydrogen peroxide(50 L/100mL) were added to the 0-day and 1-day old culture of Blakeslea trispora the production of lycopene were 25.32%,72.84% and 40.35% higher than those without oxygen-vectors addition respectively. The production of lycopene increased 114.83% when n-dodecane and surface active agents were used at the same time.

Objective To investigate the value of Alzheimer-associated neuronal thread protein (AD7c-NTP) level in urine for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD). Methods The urine samples of 450 subjects were collected from out-department of our hospital. There were 257 people with AD diseases (131 mild cases,126 moderate and severe cases) and 193 healthy control.ELISA was applied to test the level of AD7c-NTP in urine samples. Results The levels of AD7c-NTP were (1.94±0.74)μg/L,(3.92 ± 0.86 ) μg/L and (0.65 ± 0.80) μg/L in mild AD,moderate and severe AD,healthy control groups, respectively. There were differences among three groups(F=-13.520,P<0.001),and between mild and moderate and severe AD(t =1.727,P< 0.001).The level of AD7c-NTP was negatively related with MMSE score in mild AD (r =- 0.23,P =0.006),while no correlation was found between AD7c-NTP and MMSE in moderate and severe AD(r=0.59,P =0.113).Using receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve),the optimal cutoff point of AD7cNTP in urine for diagnosis of AD was 1.50 μg/L,with 90.6% sensitivity and 91.8% specificity, area under the curve was 0.94(95% CI:0.91-0.97). Conclusions The level of AD7c-NTP in urine may be one of parameters for diagnosing AD.

Baculovirus DNA polymerase gene belongs to an early gene of baculovirus. It is a necessary gene required for replication of virus in insect cells. It can encode DNA polymerase induced by virus. In the process of replication, DNA polymerase can bind to homologous regions and non-homologous regions, which are believed to act as the origins of virus DNA replication with other replication factors. In addition, DNA polymerase has advantages over occlusion protein and egt gene for resolving deep branching taxonomic relationships of baculovirus phylogenies.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate sodium intake via drug used by hypertensive inpatients during hospitalization. METH-ODS:290 inpatients with hypertension were collected from vasculocardiology department of our hospital between Jan. and Oct. 2013. The types of sodium-containing drugs and sodium-intake during hospitalization were analyzed statistically. RESULTS:275 pa-tients with hypertension were prescribed 38 sodium-containing drugs(94.8%);82.7% were administered by iv gtt with a average drug treatment course of 6.7 days(average hospitalization days of 6.8 days). Solvent containing sodium such as 0.9% Sodium chlo-ride injection and Creatine phosphate sodium for injection were the most sodium donors. 43.3% patients’sodium intake exceeded upper limit of 2 g/day recommended by WHO. CONCLUSIONS:Hypertensive inpatients are prescribed too much sodium-contain-ing drugs, and less intravenous solutions and less adjuvant medicines should be took to decrease sodium intake. Only when prospec-tive benefit are greater than risk, the patients can be prescribed sodium-containing drug prescription. At the same time, manufacturers should annotate the content of sodium in package inserts, which is convenient for physicians to choose drugs.

Objective To investigate anti-ulcerative drug use in patients undergoing arthroscopic operation against stress ulcer. Methosds A total of 297 patients undergoing arthroscopic operation during Jan. to Aug. 2013 in our hospital were recruited and retrospectively analyzed with Excellspreadsheet. Results Among 297 patients in the study, ninety-four patients (31.6%) used AUD before operation, most (94.9%) administered by intravenous, and drug utilization index was 1.35. Ninety-eight point nine patients used proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in which Lansoprazole was prescribed most. Conclusion This study highlights the overuse of PPIs in patients undergoing arthroscopic operation.

Method of isolation and purification of recombinant hepcidin was described, and the bioactivity of the protein was assayed in this paper. The oxidation of his-hepcidin was carried out in the cysteine-cystine system, and the multimers were removed through gel filtration under denaturation condition. Then the protein was refolded by continuous dilution and digested by enterokinase. The total yield of his-hepcidin before enterokinase cleavage is 50%, and the purity is above 95%.Through agar diffusion assay, the recombinant hepcidin displayed obvious antibacterial activity against B.subtilis.The LC-ESI-MS analysis of recombinant hepcidin showed that the measured molecular weight accorded with the calculated molecular weight, and the CD spectrum indicated that the secondary structure of recombinant hepcidin is similar with native hepcidin.
