Objective\ To evaluate the efficacy of atrial lead implantation during atrial fibrillation.Methods\ In 10 patients(group A),the atrial leads were implanted during atrial fibrillation and the sensing and pacing parameters before and after restoring to sinus rhythm were compared with the parameters of patients whose atrial leads were implanted during sinus rhythm (group B).Results\ During follow-up,the sensing and pacing parameters were measured, and there were no significant difference between group A and B.In group A,mean atrial potential amplitude during atrial fibrillation was correlated with the telemetered atrial potential amplitude during sinus rhythm.Conclusion\ Atrial lead implantation during atrial fibrillation is feasible.
2.Adipose tissue autophagy and homeostasis in alcohol-induced liver injury
Liver Research 2017;1(1):54-62
Alcohol consumption leads to injury in multiple organs and systems, including the liver, brain, heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas, bone, immune system, and endocrine system.Emerging evidence indicates that alcohol also promotes adipose tissue dysfunction, which may contribute to injury progression in other organs and systems.Autophagy is a lysosomal degradation pathway that has been shown to regulate adipose tissue homeostasis and adipogenesis.Increasing evidence also demonstrates that alcohol consumption affects autophagy in multiple tissues. This review summarizes current knowledge regarding the effect of autophagy on adipose tissue and its potential roles in alcohol-induced adipose tissue atrophy as well as its contribution to alcohol-induced liver injury.

Objective To investigate the best MR technique for detecting small epidermoids in the cerebellopontine angle. Methods 7 patients with pathologically-proved small epidermoids only located in the cerebellopontine angle were collected. The imaging techniques included:conventional T1WI and T2WI, fluid attenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR),diffusion weighted imaging(DWI) and balanced fast field echo(B-FFE) .The findings were retrospectively analyzed. Results 6 of 7 cases of epidermoid tumours localized at the cerebellopontine angle and exhibited the similar signal intensity as the cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) on T1WI and T2WI.The remaining case was slightly isointense on either T1WI or T2WI.On FLAIR images in 6 cases,3 cases showed slightly hyperintensity, 1 case showed doubtful heterogeneous signal intensity and 2 cases did not reveal any abnormal signal intensity.3 cases were hyperintense differenting from CSF on DW images. All of seven cases showed heterogeneous signal characteristics and were quite different from CFS on B-FFE.Meanwhile B-FFE also produced clearly the tissue contrast of trigeminus embedded in epidermoids of the cerebellopontine angle. Conclusion B-FFE is much more useful for the early diagnosis of epidermoids in the cerebellopontine angle and it also can provide precise preoperative information about the trigeminus encasement.

Objective To find a biomechanical evaluation methods of manual performance fatigue, for providing the feasible methods for the hand fatigue of spacesuit glove.Method Twelve females and forteen males in two groups served as the subjects and participated in the experiments of changeless force fatigue, including gripping, pinching and screwing, and took part in the nondimensional force fatigue.Result Manual performance fatigue could be fully evaluated based on gripping, pinching and screwing. The nondimensional force fatigue had widely applied ranges and well veracity. The combination of nondimensional subjective and objective evaluations was the optimal fatigue evaluation method. Conclusion The results can provide the feasible methods for performance evaluation of spacesuit glove system.

Objective To investigate the incidence and extent of biopsy tract contamination in malignant bone tumors by either core needle biopsy or open biopsy and detect the safe extent in resection of biopsy tract. Methods Forty-eight cases were performed core needle biopsy, including 37 osteosarcomas, 5 malignant fibrous histiocytomas, 1 juxtacortical osteosarcoma, 1 low grade central osteosarcoma, 1 periosteal osteosarcoma, 1 primary malignant melanoma of bone and 2 chondrosarcomas. There were 37 males and 11 females with a mean age of 23.3 years (range, 10-64 years). The mean time between core needle biopsy and definitive surgery was 1.3 months (range, 0-2 months). All the patients were performed limb salvage surgery.Twenty-six cases were performed open biopsy, including 20 osteosareomas, 1 Ewing's sarcoma, 2 chondrosarcomas, 1 mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, 1 malignant fibrous histiocytoma, 1 lymphoma. There were 21males and 5 females with a mean age of 21.9 years (range, 8-59 years). The mean time between open biopsy and definitive surgery was 2.3 months (range, 1-4 months). The tumor and tissue around the biopsy tract at least 2 cm were resected. The pathological examination was performed in specimens via the biopsy tract, including the normal soft tissue outside the tumor, deep fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin. The incidence and extent of biopsy tract contamination were evaluated with pathological examination. Results Forty-four cases were followed up. The mean follow-up time was 17.6 months (range, 4-39 months). In core needle biopsy group, four of forty-eight cases were found malignant tumor cells seeding in biopsy tract, the positive rate was 8.3%. In open biopsy group, all the cases were followed up with the mean time of 12.9 months (range, 2-29 months), and two of twenty-six cases were found malignant tumor cells seeding in biopsy tract, the positive rate was 7.7%. Conclusion Biopsy of malignant bone tumors has the risk of biopsy tract contamination. The tumor cell seeding exists in both core needle biopsy and open biopsy. The biopsy tract should be performed en bloc resection with the tumor.

Objective To investigate the effects of allogenic intra-bone marrow bone marrow transplantation (IBM-BMT) on re-establishing hematopoiesis in mice. Methods Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMNCs) from BALB/ c mice were transplanted into the C57BL/6 mice treated with a lethal dose of ~(60)Coγ-ray radiation through intra-bone marrow injection or intravenous injection. Sixty of the C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into three groups as higher dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM1 group), lower dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM2 group) and intravenous injection group (IV group). The nucleated cell numbers of whole bone marrow from the tibia of each recipient mouse were counted respectively at the day 1, day 3, day 6 and day 9 after the transplantation. The donor-derived total nucleated cells and myeloid cells were quantified by flow cytometry. Results At 6th day after transplantation, more total bone marrow nucleated cells, total donor-derived nucleated cells and donor-derived myeloid cells in the tibia of injected side in both IBM1 group and IBM2 group were found than that in IV group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Compared with traditional bone marrow transplantation (IV-BMT),IBM-BMT improves the bone marrow hematopoiesis in the early hematopoietic re-establishing stage in allogenic bone marrow transplantation.

Objective To explore the in vitro isolation of ?2m-/Thy-1+ bone marrow-derived liver stem cells(BDLSCs) which bear double features of stem and liver cells from bone marrow stem cells(BMSCs)as so to provide suitable donor cells for the treatment of liver diseases by cellular transplant. Methods ?2m-/Thy-1+ BDLSCs were isolated by magnetic bead cell sorting(MACS) method from cholestatic rats in vitro, and cell purity was detected using flow cytometry.Liver associated phenotype markers were characterized by RT-PCR and immunofluorescence staining. Results BDLSCs isolated by MACS were purified and viable, and possessed hepatocyte-like features at gene and protein levels. Conclusion ?2m-/Thy-1+ BDLSCs are special subsets of BMSCs which may have promising potentials in the stem cell-based treatment of liver diseases.
