Objective To evaluate treatment effects and to determine the prognostic factors of primary orbital lymphoma. Methods From March 1984 to October 2000, 44 primary orbital lymphoma patients were admitted into our hospital, with 27 males and 17 females. Twenty-seven patients had eyelid or conjunctiva primary, and 17 patients orbit primary. Patient's age ranged from 14 to 86 years (median, 50.5years). According to the Ann Arbor Staging System, there were 40 ⅠEA, 4 ⅡEA lesions. Cobolt-60 ?ray was given first to the whole orbit to 30-35?Gy followed by 180 kv X-rays or 9 Mev ?-beam to the focus to a total dose of 41.0-51.5?Gy (median, 46.5?Gy). Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the survival. Log-rank test was used to detect the difference between groups.Results Only 1 patient failed from primary site and 5 patients from distant metastasis after radiotherapy. The 5-year and 10-year cause-specific survival rate were 90.9% and 84.5%, respectively. On univariate and multivariate analyses, eyelid or conjunctiva localization and Ann Arbor stage ⅠEA were independent favorable prognostic factors for survival. The 5-year survival was much higher in eyelid or conjunctiva patients than in orbital ones (96.3% vs 70.6%, P=0.013). The survival time was longer in stage Ⅰ than in stage Ⅱ (P=0.000). Neither the RT dose nor the age or sex influenced the outcome.Conclusions Localized orbital lymphoma can be well controlled with low-dose RT alone. Patients with eyelid or conjunctival localization and stage Ⅰ have better cause-specific survival.

Objective To investigate the clinical effects on the hypernatremia in elderly patients with ARDS treated by continu-ous veno-venous hemofiltration(CVVH) .Methods Eighteen cases of elderly patients with ARDS and hypernatremia were treated by CVVH ,the serum sodium concentration was observed and the displacement fluid composition was adjusted dynamically by serum sodium concentration ,the changes of kidney function ,gas index ,plasma osmotic pressure and APACHE Ⅱ score were recorded and analyzed .Results After treatment ,the plasma osmotic pressure of patients declined [(318 .5 ± 20 .2)mmol/L vs .(294 .4 ± 15 .1) mmol/L ,P<0 .01] .After treatment ,the oxygenation index rised [(157 .4 ± 34 .2) vs .(178 .4 ± 40 .4) ,P< 0 .05] ,APACHE Ⅱscore declined[(20 .8 ± 9 .4) vs .(14 .5 ± 8 .8) ,P<0 .05] ,and the comparison of after and before treatment was statistically signifi-cant .Conclusion Therapy method of elderly patients with ARDS and hypernatremia treated by CVVH can correct hypernatremia , improve oxygenation index and APACHE Ⅱ score effectively .

A poly( GMA-EGDMA) coated SPME fiber was prepared using an in-situ polymerization by direct bonding to the surface of a polydopamine-modified stainless steel wire. Then the fiber was modified by sulfuric acid. A novel solid phase microextraction coating coupled to high performance liquid chromatography ( HPLC) method based on the as-prepared fiber was developed for the determination of four pharmaceuticals and personal care products ( PPCPs) in water samples. The influences of extraction parameters, including pH, extraction time, extraction temperature and salt addition were investigated. 3 mL water sample was extracted by the as-prepared fiber for 60 min at 30 ℃, and then desorbed with mobile phase for 30 min, respectively. Desorption solution was analyzed by HPLC-DAD ( diode array detection ) . The results indicated that the extraction yield of the fiber was good for four PPCPs. The linear correlation coefficients were>0. 997 with the linear range of 2-200 μg/L. The limits of detection (S/N=3) were 0. 5-5 μg/L with RSD (n=5) of 4. 1%-11. 9%. The recoveries of four PPCPs at spiked level of 20, 50, 100 μg/L were within the range of 70. 6%-105. 5%. The results showed that this method was easy, green, accurate and precise, and could be used to assay the four PPCPs in real water samples.

This study reported the obtainment of the full-length cDNA of Salvia miltiorrhiza hairy roots (Abbr: SmHDR, GenBank number: JX233817), via extracting Salvia miltiorrhiza hairy roots total RNA, designing specific primers according to the transcriptome data and using the RACE strategy, and then analyzed it with bioinformatics approaches. On this basis, using the real-time PCR to detect SmHDR gene expression after Ag+ induction, and testing tanshinones contents of corresponding samples by UPLC. SmHDR has 1 647 nucleotides, and an open reading frame (ORF) encoding a protein of 463 amino acid residues. The deduced protein has isoelectric point (pI) of 5.72 and a calculated molecular weight about 51.88 kD. In the secondary structure, the percentage of alpha helix, beta turn and random coil were 35.64%, 20.30% and 44.06%, respectively. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that SmHDR had relative close relationship to the HDR of Picrorhiza kurrooa, similar to HDR from other species of plants. Real time PCR results indicated that elicitor of Ag+ stimulated the increase of mRNA expression of SmHDR. At the same time, results of ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC), used to examine the accumulation of diterpenoid tanshinones in hairy roots, showed that the contents of diterpenoid tanshinones in hairy roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza were increased dramatically at 12 h after treated with Ag+, and then decreased significantly. This result showed a positive correlation between the levels of mRNA expression and tanshinones accumulation in Salvia miltiorrhiza stimulated by Ag+. The content of tanshinones was gradually raised, and it had an obvious increase at 120 h. The bioinformatics analysis and gene expression indicated that SmHDR might be involved in tanshinones biosynthesis, which laid the foundation for further study of secondary metabolic regulation mechanism of tanshinones.

Objective To study the correlations among lumbosacral anatomical structure variations and herniation of intervertebral disc.Methods Through analyzing lumbar CT images of 684 patients with lumbocrural pain between 15 to 24 years old, the anatomical variations of spondylolysis, scoliosis deformity, lumbosacral transitional vertebra, subfissure, lumbosacral angle and others (including vertebral muscles beside, spines, transverse process on both sides) were observed, and the correlations among these anatomical variations and herniation of intervertebral disc were analyzed.Results The correlations among these above mentioned anatomical variations and herniation of intervertebral disc were 93.6%,92.3%,87.5%,81.3%,72.1%,53.3% respectively.In 91.4% of patients, the lumbosacral anatomical structure variations suffered herniation of intervertebral disc at the same time.But only 36.2% of patients suffered herniation of intervertebral disc without lumbosacral anatomical structure variations.Conclusion Lumbosacral anatomical structure variation is the main reason of herniation of intervertebral disc on teenagers.CT examination,which can reflect the correlation between them.

In order to establish a method for the determination of the sterols of the oil in the freeze-dried acai (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) and to evaluate its antioxidant activities, a saponification/extraction procedure and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis method were developed and validated for the analysis of phytosterols in PEE (Petroleum ether extract). Separation was achieved on a Purosper STAR LP C18 column with a binary, gradient solvent system of acetonitrile and isopropanol. Evaporative light scattering detection (ELSD) was used to quantify β-sitosterol and the total sterols. Peak identification was verified by retention times and spikes with external standards. Standard curves were constructed (r = 0.999 2) to allow for sample quantification. Recovery of the saponification and extraction was demonstrated via analysis of spiked samples. The highest content of total sterols is β-sitosterol. The antioxidant activities of the extracts were evaluated using the total oxyradical scavenging capacity assay (TOSC assay). The result showed that the PEE exhibited significant antioxidant properties, sample concentration and the antioxidant capacity had a certain relevance.

Objective To investigate the correlation between white matter hyperintensities (WMH)and hyperintense vessel sign (HVS) on fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in old adults and to explore the risk factors and pathogeneses of WMH.Methods We retrospectively collected imaging and clinical data of patients who had received both head and neck CTA and brain MRI within one month at our hospital from 2013 to 2016.The Fazekas visual scale was used to evaluate periventricular white matter hyperintensity(PWMH)and deep white matter hyperintensity(DWMH)in each brain hemisphere.According to the presence or absence of HVS in a cerebra[hemisphere,patients were assigned into an HVS-positive group or an HVS-negative group.Clinical data,PWMH,and DWMH differences were compared between the two groups.Results A total of 271 patients(542 cerebral hemispheres)were included in this study.HVS-positive imaging occurred in 79(14.6％)cerebral hemispheres and negative imaging was observed in 463 (85.4％) cerebral hemispheres.There was a significant difference between the HVS-positive and negative groups in the ipsilateral CIA stenosis(x2 =126.840,P＜0.01).The incidence of ipsilateral severe carotid artery stenosis in the HVS-positive group was 62.0％ (49/79),which was significantly higher than 9.9％ (46/463)in the HVS-negative group.The incidence of moderate-severe DWMH was 65.8％(52/79) in the HVS-positive group,which was higher than 34.8％ (161/463)in the negative group(x2 =34.962,P ＜20.01).Nevertheless,the incidences of moderate-severe PWMH in the two groups were 65.8％ (52/79) and 55.5％ (257/463),respectively,without a significant difference between them (x2 =6.944,P =0.074).After adjusting for age,gender,ipsilateral ICA stenosis,hypertension,diabetes,etc.multivariate analysis suggested that HVS-positive imaging was still an independent risk factor for DWMH(OR =2.653,95％CI:1.489-4.726,P =0.001).Conclusions HVS-positive imaging is an independent risk factor for DWMH in the elderly,but no clear correlation with PWMH is found.It suggests that hypoperfusion is a possible mechanism for the development of DWMH in the elderly.

Objective To study the probability of applying mesenchymal stem cells isolated from human umbilical cord blood (hUCB MSCs) to repair mouse skin wound in vivo. Methods hUCB MSCs isolated from full term delivery human umbilical cord blood were cultured and amplified in vitro.hUCB MSCs at passage 9 were labeled with BrdU (5-bromodeoxy-uridine) and grafted on the full-thickness skin loss wound created on the back of the severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mouse (treatment group), when a PBS control group was set. The wound healing rate was surveyed and compared at days 7 and 14 postoperatively. Meanwhile, the wound was biopsied at days 7, 14 and 28 after operation,and the expressions of BrdU antibody and K19 antibody were checked pathologically and immunohistochemically by HE staining, respectively. Results The wound in treatment group was healed more rapidly than that in control group (P ＜ 0.01 ). The pathological check of the biopsy sample showed that the epidermis was thicker, with more epidermal ridges in the treatment group, compared with control group.It was found that some BrdU positive cells were distributed successively on the hair follicle, the stratum basal and the spinosum layers, a few of which even expressed K19. Conclusion hUCB MSCs can be differentiated into skin tissue and cells and is possible to repair skin wound.
