Nowadays,the Immunoregulatory effects of Vitamin A and its derivatives have made great progress.However,the role of them in allergic diseases is not clear yet,causing some uncertainty in their application prospect.This review takes the mechanism of the allergic diseases as a point,summarizing the role of Vitamin A in occurrence of allergic diseases.

OBJECTIVE To remove the bad effect of the supply voltage on the ultraviolet ray disinfection and using the intelligent controller to solve the problem of supply voltage on the ultraviolet intensity of the ultraviolet lamp.METHODS The method was to find the relationship between the voltage and disinfection time,use the intelligent controller to detect the supply voltage and use the computation to control the disinfection time,and then revise the disinfection time according to the variation of the voltage in time.RESULTS The method could compensate the bad effect of the variation of the supply voltage on the ultraviolet and can control the ultraviolet disinfection automatically.CONCLUSIONS That means this method has a good application in future.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of compound Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen) injection intravenous drip combining carboplatin intraperitoneal injection in treating advanced ovarian cancer with malignant ascites. Methods Totally 160 patients with advanced ovarian cancer with malignant ascites were randomly divided into compound Kushen injection intravenous drip combining carboplatin intraperitoneal injection group (observation group) and carboplatin intraperitoneal injection group (control group). Clinical efficacy observation and evaluation were conducted from malignant ascites condition, changes in living quality (KPS score), T lymphocytes subsets and changes of the NK cells in blood samples, pain-relieving efficacy, and toxicity response. Results There were significant differences in malignant ascites between the two groups (P<0.05), with treatment group showing better improvement than the control group. In improving quality of life, the observation group had precedence over the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+, NK (CD16+CD56+) in control group were obviously less than the observation group (P<0.05). The pain-relieving efficacy in the observation group was superior to that in the control group. Compared with the control group, the observation group had less gastrointestinal reaction and bone marrow suppression, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Compound Kushen injection intravenous drip combined with carboplatin intraperitoneal injection in treating advanced ovarian cancer with malignant ascites can effectively improve the immune function and quality of life, and can be used for adjuvant chemotherapy with less side effects.

Objective To investigate the role of glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) in the trafficking of NR1-containing N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) and NR2B-containing NMDAR in the spinal cord in rats with incisional pain (IP) and remifentanil-induced hyperalgesia.Methods Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 2-3 months,weighing 240-260 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups ( n =8 each):control group (group C),remifentanil group (group R) and GSK-3β inhibitor TDZD-8 group (group TDZD-8).A 1-cm longitudinal incision was made in the plantar surface of the left hindpaw in anesthetized rats.In group C,dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) 2 ml/kg was injected and then the normal saline (equal to the volume of remifentanil) was infused for 60 min via the caudal vein.In group R,DMSO 2 ml/kg was injected before IP was made and then remifentanil was infused at a rate of 1.2 μg· kg- 1 ·min- 1 for 60 min.In group TDZD-8,TDZD-8 2 ml/kg was injected before IP was made and then remifentanil was infused at a rate of 1.2 μg·kg-1 ·min-1 for 60 min.Paw withdrawal threshold (PWT) and paw withdrawal latency (PWL) were measured 24 h before infusion of normal saline or remifentanil and at 2,6,24 and 48 h after intravenous injection.The rats were sacrificed after the last measurement of the pain threshold and L4-6 segment of the spinal cord was removed to determine the expression of NMDAR NR1 and NR2B subunits in cell membrane (s) and cytoplasm (i) in the spinal cord by Western blot analysis.The ratios of sNR1/iNR1 and sNR2B/iNR2B were calculated.Results Compared with group C,PWT was significantly decreased and PWL was significantly shortened,the expression of sNR1 and sNR2B was up-regulated,the expression of iNR1 and iNR2B was down-regulated,and the ratios of sNR1/iNR1 and sNR2B/iNR2B were significantly increased in groups R and TDZD-8 (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group R,PWT was significantly increased and PWL was significantly prolonged,the expression of sNR1 and sNR2B was down-regulated,the expression of iNR1 and iNR2B was up-regulated,and the ratios of sNR1/iNR1 and sNR2B/iNR2B were significantly decreased in group TDZD-8 ( P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion GSK-3β is involved in the regulation of trafficking of NR1-containing NMDAR and NR2B-containing NMDAR from cytoplasm to cell membrane in the spinal cord in rats with IP and hyperalgesia induced by remifentanil.

Objective To study the effects of aerobic exercises on platelet function in patients with phase Ⅰ essential hypertension (EH). Methods Low-intensity aerobic exercises therapy was given to 36 patients with phase Ⅰ EH for three months. Changes of their blood pressure, heart rate, platelet aggregation rate (PAGTmax), alpha-granule membrane protein (GMP-140) and mean platelet volume (MPV) werer ecorded and compared to those in 36 normal healthy controls. Results As compared to those in controls,PAGTmax, level of GMP-140 and MPV were all increased in patients with phase Ⅰ EH before exercises therapy(t=15.221, 10. 916 and 16. 401, respectively, all P < 0. 01 ). After exercises therapy, 24-hour mean blood pressure decreased in association with reduction in PAGTmax to (0. 80±0. 05)% from (0. 88±0. 08) % (t=4. 323, P < 0. 05), level of GMP-140 decreased to ( 28±20) μg/L from (57±23 ) μg/L ( t=15.049, P<0.01) and MPV decreased to (9.0±0.9)fl from (9.1±0.9)fl (t=5.518, P <0.05) before it. But, there was no significant difference in these in dicators of platelet function in controls before and after exercise therapy (P>0.05). Conclusions Aerobic exercises therapy could be effective in lowering blood pressure in patients of mild EH with increased platelet activation, as well as inhibition ontheir platelet activation.

Objective To investigate the role of PT H (1-34 ) on the expression of receptor activator factor of NF-κB ligand (RANKL) in the induction of osteoclasts and its effect to osteoclasts on compression side during the repairs of tooth root in rats model of tooth resorption by intermittent injection of small dose of PTH (1-34) .Methods After the model of tooth resorption was established in rats 6-8 weeks in age ,63 male SD rats were divided in three groups .Rats in the control group were not given injec-tions for any drugs ;The negative control group were given injections for normal saline 6μg/kg subcutaneously every other day ;The experimental group were given injections for PTH (1-34) 6 μg/kg(PTH :1 μg/mL) subcutaneously every other day ;then rats in every group were killed on the day 0 ,7 ,10 ,14 ,17 ,21 ,25 .TRAP staining for counting TRAP-positive stained osteoclasts ,calculat-ing the mean ;Ligand RANKL immunohistochemistry and using image-pro-plus image analysis system to measure the average opti-cal density value of compression side .Results On the day of discontinuation ,the tooth resorption continued in each group ;the num-ber of osteoclasts between every two arrays there were no significant statistic differences (P>0 .05);RANKL immunohistochemis-try :Compared with control group and the negative control group ,the experimental group significantly increased in early stage ,and reduced in latest stage(P<0 .05) .Conclusion It indicated that intermittent injection of small dose PTH (1-34) did not cease the rats tooth resorption which occured during the period of tooth repair .

Objective To establish a 3-dimensional (3-D) finite element knee model in healthy Chinese males, to verify the validity of the model, and to analyze the biomechanics of this model under axial load, flexion moment, varus/valgus torque, and internal/external axial torque. Methods A set of consecutive transectional computerized tomography images of normal male knee joints in upright weight-bearing position was selected. With image processing and inversion technology, the 3-D finite element model of the normal knee joint was established through the software ABAQOUS/STANDARD Version-6.5.Biomechanical analysis of this model was processed under axial load, flexion moment, varus/valgus torque, and internal/external axial torque.Results A 3-D finite element model of healthy Chinese males was successfully established. The ranges of motion of varus and valgus were both small and the difference between them has no statistical significance (P>0.05). The motion of internal and external rotation of the knee took place only in flexion situation.The range of motion of external rotation was larger than that of internal rotation in the same knee (P<0.05).Conclusion The 3-D geometrical model of the knee resembles the actual knee segments. It can immitate the knee response to different loads. This model could be used for further study on knee biomechanics.

Objective To observe the effect of the self-made traditional Chinese medicine combined with brufen in treatment of cervical spondylosis. Methods 170 cases were divided into the treatment group(85 cases) and the control group(85 cases) randomly. The control group was treated with brufen. Patients in treatment group received routine treatment plus the self-made traditional Chinese medicine. After the treatment, the curative effect, aches and coma were analyzed. Results The total effective rate was 94. 1% in treatment group but 84. 7% in control group.Difference between the two groups had statistical significance( x2 = 3.997,P ＜ 0. 05). The integrate of 1 ahes and coma were ( 7. 8 ± 2. 4), (9. 4 ± 2. 1 ) marks and ( 2. 5 ± 0. 6), (3. 1 ± 0. 9) respectively, it was lower than before treatment(11.9 ±2.3) ,(12.3 ±2.9) marks and (5.6 ± 1.4) ,(5.3 ± 1.2) marks. Aches and coma showed a great difference after treatment from those before treatment( t = 34. 641、6. 159、6. 173、6. 080,all P ＜0. 05 ). Aches and coma were lower then those of control group(t =9. 283、3. 464,all P ＜0. 05). No severe adverse reaction occurred in two groups. Conclusion The self-made traditional Chinese medicine combined with brufen is effective to treat aches and coma in cervical spondylosis. The method was feasible for treat aches and coma in cervical spondylosis.
