Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(4):336-340
Background Free-flap Epi-LASIK surgery show a fast epithelial healing and mild trauma responses. Its mechanism is notable. Objective The aim of this study was to compare the corneal epithelial healing response following photorefractive keratectomy(PRK)and flap-free Epi-LASIK surgery. Methods Twelve experimental rabbits were randomly assigned to high cutting group(-10.00 D)and low cutting group(-3.00 D),and 2 normal matched rabbits were used as controls.PRK was performed in lateral eyes and flap-free epipolis laser in situkeratomileusis(Epi-LASIK)surgery was curried out in the fellow eyes. The corneal wound healing response in early stage of post-operation was examined under the slim lamp, and the inflammatory cells infiltration in cornea, basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)and nuclear transcription factor(NF-KB)expressions in corneal stroma were detected by hematine-eosin staining and immunohistochemstry in the seventh day after operation. Results The inflammatory reaction was milder in the eyes with Epi-LASIK than ones of PRK under the slim lamp.No significant difierences were found in numbers of inflammatory cells in cornea.expressions of bFGF and NF-κB in corneal stroma between two types of surgeries in low cutting group(P>0.05).In high cutting group, the numbers of inflammatory cells were(12.25±1.22)/400 field in PRK eyes, and those of free-flap Epi-LASIK eyes were(6.67±0.31)/400 field, showing obvious difference between them(t=-8.87,P<0.01).Expressions of NF-κB(A value)in cornea were 6.11±1.36 and 41.82±8.7 1 in PRK eyes of low cutting group and high cutting group.and those in free-flap Epi-LASIK were 3.01±0.81 and 11.59±4.55.indicating a drastically increase in PRK eyes(P<0.05).The expressions of bFGF(A value)in corneal stroma were 33.59±6.98 and 123.68±18.81 in PRK eyes and those in free-flap Epi-LASIK eyes were 69.20±8.85 and 123.68±1 8.81 in low cutting group and high cutting group, presenting a considerably decrease in PRK eyes (P<0.05).The corneal epithelial healing was faster in free-flap Epi-LASIK eyes than that in PRK eyes.and deeper cutting slowed the healing procedure. Conclusion In low cutting group, healing time of corneal epithelium is close between PRK and flap-free Epi-LASIK.But in high cutting group, epithelial healing is faster and inflammatory reaction is lighter in flap-free Epi-LASIK compared with PRK.

Objective:To analyze the effect of MCT/LCT fat emulsions at different doses on the growth and development of prema-ture and low birth weight infants. Methods: Totally 76 cases of preterm or low birth weight infants were divided into the treatment group (40 cases) and the control group (36 cases), both groups were given MCT/LCT fat emulsions, amino acid and glucose injec-tions in 12-24 h after the birth. The initial dose of MCT/LCT fat emulsions in the treatment group was 2. 0 g·kg-1 ·d-1 and the dose was gradually increased to 3. 0 g·kg-1 ·d-1 with 0. 5 g·kg-1 ·d-1 progressive increase. The initial dose of MCT/LCT fat emulsions in the control group was 0. 5 g·kg-1 ·d-1 , and the dose was increased to 3. 0 g·kg-1 ·d-1 with 0. 5 g·kg-1 ·d-1 progressive in-crease. The treatment course was 7 days. The neonatal weight, serum total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, total cholesterol, triacylglycerol and blood glucose were monitored in the two groups. Results:The born body mass recovery time of the ob-servation group was (4. 38+0. 93) d, which was significantly shorter than that in the control group [(6. 81+1. 90) d]. After the re-covery, the body weight growth rate of the observation group was (30. 41+1. 81) g·kg-1 ·d-1 , which was significantly higher than that of the control group [(18. 21 +2. 08) g·kg-1 ·d-1, P <0. 05]. After the 7-day treatment, the blood biochemical indices showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0. 05). Conclusion:Early application of MCT/LCT fat emul-sions at high dose is beneficial to the improvement of nutritional status in premature infants.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2010;32(7):483-486
Objective To observe the effects of passive movement on the functional outcome after occlusion of the middle artery in the brain and reperfusion, and to explore the molecular mechanisms involved. Methods Cerebral infarction models were established in rats using left middle cerebral artery occlusion ( MCAO). The survivors were randomly divided into a passive movement group and a natural recovery group. There was also a sham-operated group and a normal group. Passive movement treatment (twice a day, twenty min per time) was started at different times after reperfusion. The expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and B cell lymphoma/leukemia-2 gene (Bcl-2) were determined using real-time PCRs. Results Expression of BDNF and Bcl-2 was detected a-round the infarction area in both groups. The expression of BDNF and Bcl-2 was highest in the sub-groups where passive movement was begun 24 or 48 h after the operation. Conclusions The expression of BDNF and Bcl-2 in the brain peaks when daily, moderate intensity passive movement is administered beginning 24 to 48 h after reperfusion. Passive movement might have a protective and rehabilitative effect after cerebral infarction.

Objective:To analyze the distribution of UGT1A1 gene polymorphisms in Chinese Han patients with extensive-disease small cell lung cancer(ED-SCLC),and evaluate the correlation between UGT1A1 gene polymorphisms and toxicity and efficacy of irino-tecan(CPT-11) based regimen in the patients with ED-SCLC. Methods: The analysis of UGT1A1?28 and UGT1A1?6 gene poly-morphisms was performed in 67 patients with ED-SCLC admitted in our hospital from June 2011 to January 2013. The 67 cases with ED-SCLC treated with irinotecan(CPT-11) based regimen were enrolled to observe the adverse events and efficacy during the chemo-therapy, including objective responserate rate ( ORR) , progression free survival ( PFS) and overall survival ( OS) . The incidence of different genotypes was compared. Results:The distribution of UGT1A1 genotypes in the 67 patients was follows:UGT1A1?28 wild-type (WT) genotype TA6/6 (56, 83. 6%), heterozygous genotype TA6/7 (11, 16. 4%);UGT1A1?6 wild-type (WT) genotype G/G (45,67. 2%), heterozygous genotype G/A (22,32. 8%). No significant difference of PFS and OS was observed between the differ-ent genotypes. The incidence of grade 3 and 4 delayed diarrhea and neutropenia in the patients carrying UGT1A1?6 G/A was higher than that in those with WT genotype (36. 4% vs. 6. 6%, P<0. 05;27. 2% vs. 4. 4%, P<0. 05, respectively). The incidence of grade 3 and 4 thrombocytopenia in the patients carrying UGT1A1?28 TA6/7 was higher than that in those with WT genotype (27. 2%vs. 1. 8%, P<0. 05). The patients simultaneously carrying UGT1A1?28 TA6/7 and UGT1A1?6 G/A were prone to suffering 3 and 4 delayed diarrhea and neutropenia. Conclusion: UGT1A1 polymorphisms may predict the adverse events of CPT-11 in ED-SCLC, while can not predict the efficacy of CPT-11.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(12):1864-1871
BACKGROUND:It is an important issue of alveolar ridge preservation after tooth extraction. Because of the limited treatment and geographical conditions, lack of awareness of oral health, many local people in frontier areas in Xinjiang have poor alveolar ridge that is not of timely repair after tooth extraction. Thus, it is important to find a suitable local and efficient way to save the residual ridge, which has a more practical clinical value. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the feasibility of nano-colagen artificial bone used for alveolar ridge preservation in the Kazakh in Xinjiang Tacheng Region, China. METHODS: Sixty-eight Kazakh patients with bilateral extraction from Tacheng region, Xingjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China were selected in a self-controled trial. According to the principle of a minimum alocation imbalance index, the experimental side and control side of extraction patients were confirmed. In the experimental side, nano-colagen artificial bone was implanted; while, conventional treatment was done in the control side. Multi-slice spiral CT was used to scan the regions of extraction interest to measure the relative gray value of alveolar bone mineral density immediately and 3 months after implantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Immediately after implantation, tooth extraction sockets were visible on CT images both in the experimental and control sides; but after 3 months, the extraction sockets became unclear on the CT images, and CT values were close to those of the surrounding alveolar process, but bone tissues were ful of the bone graft area in the experimental side. The alveolar bone mineral density was higher in the experimental side than the control side at 3 months after implantation. These findings indicate that the nano-colagen artificial bone has good clinical achievement in alveolar ridge preservation in the Kazakh in Xinjiang Tacheng Region.
