1.The role of endoscopic ultrasound in detection of small pancreatic tumors
China Oncology 2017;27(3):233-236
Early detection of pancreatic cancer is difficult and most of patients with pancreatic cancer present with locally advanced stage disease or distant metastasis on diagnosis. Micrometastasis occurs in the majority of pancreatic cancers larger than 2 cm in diameter and making early diagnosis and treatment essential to improve the prognosis. Small pancreatic tumors less than 2 cm in diameter can be missed on transcutaneous ultrasound, CT and MRI. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has been considered the most sensitive modality in evaluation of pancreatic lesions. It can be placed in close proximity to the pancreas and provide real-time, high resolution imaging using a high frequency ultrasound probe to find lesions as small as 5 mm. Recently, small pancreatic tumors have been increasingly detected with the widely used EUS. The development of new techniques such as EUS elastography, contrast-enhanced harmonic EUS (CEH-EUS) and fine needle aspiration biopsy (EUS-FNAB) have enhanced the ability of EUS in detection of small solid pancreatic tumors as well as in differentiation of malignancies from benign tumors.
2.Effects of atorvastatin in different dosage on plasma level of fibrinogen in patients with acute cerebral infarction
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(24):21-23
Objective To investigate whether intervention with two different dosage of atorvastatin may benefit to plasma level of fibrinogen (Fg) in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and two patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly assigned into three groups:the control group (33 cases) treated without lipid-lowering drugs, 10 rag (30 cases) and 20 mg (39 cases) atorvastatin group with 3 days of treatment. Before and after the treatment, the plasma levels of Fg and lipids were detected. Results The treatment of 10 mg atorvastatin did not significantly decrease the level of Fg. Compared to the control group, the level of Fg was markedly reduced by 20 mg atorvastatin (21.6% vs 3.2%,P< 0.05). No changes of lipid levels were observed in any group before and after the treatment, whilst there was no relation between the decreasing percentage of Fg and that of TC(r = 0.125 ,P= 0.618), TG(r = 0.147,P = 0.573) or LDL- C (r = -0.279, P = 0.235 ), HDL-C (r = -0.021, P = 0.157). Conclusion Treatment with high dose atorvastatin (20 mg) for 3 days could reduce the level of Fg, and improve the function of vascular endothehum, which may promote the stabilization of atherosclerotic plaque.
3.Research Progress of TCM Medicinal Herbs and Their Active Ingredients in Anti-bacterial Biofilms of Caries
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(7):125-127
Caries is one of the most common chronic progressive oral diseases. TCM medicinal herbs have many advantages compared with traditional dental drugs for caries (such as fluoride). In recent years, cariogenic TCM medicinal herbs have attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign scholars. Caries is not caused by a single factor. The development of caries is closely related to bacterial biofilms that are formed by streptococcus mutans, streptococcus sanguis, actinomyces inside, actinomyces and lactobacillus. Therefore, this article took a brief overview of TCM medicinal herbs and their active ingredients that inhibit the bacterial biofilms.
4.Screening and evaluation of the active substance of gallnut against oral cavity pathogens
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2017;33(4):437-441
Objective:To study the effects of 3 extracts from Chinese gall on the growth and metabolism of 6 kinds of oral bacteria. Methods:Through a series of extraction and purification,3 active monomer, gallnut extract gallic acid, methyl gallate and gallic acid ethyl ester were selected.Streptococcus mutansUA159(UA159),Actinomyces viscosus (Av),Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg),Enterococcus faecalis (Ef),Fusobacterium nucleatum(Fn) and Candida albicans (Ca) were treated by the extracts respectively,The growth and metabolism of the becteria were studied by liguid dilution method. Results:The MIC(mg/ml) of Gallic acid anainst the bacteria was 2.5-5,methyl gallate 2.0-4.0 and gallic acid ethyl ester 1.25-2.5.The extracts at 1 mg/ml could inhibit the growth, acid production and extracellular polysaccharides of the 6 oral pathogens. And ethyl gallate showed the strongest effects. Conclusion:Gallic acid and methyl gallate and ethyl gallate at low concentration may inhibit the growth, acid metabolism and glucose metabolism of oral bacteria.
5.Application of intraoperative ultrasound monitoring in carotid endarterectomy
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2010;18(8):607-610
The changes of cerebral hemodynamics, morphology and hemodynamics of carotid artery in carotid endarterectomy were monitored using transcranial Doppler in combination with color duplex ultrasound. It is helpful to reduce the occurrence of intraoperative cerebral ischaemia and timely guides surgeons to perform the second repair. This article reviews the application values of ultrasonic technology in carotid endarterectomy.
6."Exploration of the Professional Spirit Cultivation with ""Double Teacher"" Method for Medical Students Based on Preeminent Doctors Education and Training Plan"
Chinese Medical Ethics 2016;29(5):759-762
Medical students′ professional spirit cultivation is an important content as well as a basic require-ment of the Preeminent Doctor Education and Training Plan. Currently, there are several problems in medical tal-ents′professional spirit cultivation, such as the unstandardized curriculum, the lack of subjective experience, and the ignorance of the unity of education stages, student differences and coherence. This study intends to explore thedouble teacher method, in which both clinical teaching doctors and medical ethics teachers engage in the medi-cal students′professional spirit cultivation. Its purpose is to build a bridge between medical ethics education in uni-versities and the clinical practice, and further to integrate them through doctors′ and teachers′ joint participation, which will significantly enhance medical students′practice ability of medical moral.
7.Bacterial Endotoxins Test of Chlorphenamine Maleate Injection
China Pharmacy 2007;0(25):-
OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the bacterial endotoxin test of chlorphenamine maleate injection. METHODS: The interference test and bacterial endotoxin test of 28 batches of chlorphenamine maleate injections from 14 manufacturers were carried out in accordance with the bacterial endotoxin test approved by Chinese Pharmacopeia (2005 edition). RESULTS: Diluted to a concentration of below 0.025 mg?mL-1,the samples showed no interference action on bacterial endotoxin test. The limit value of the bacterial endotoxin was 5 EU?mg-1. The results of the bacterial endotoxin test of the 28 batches of samples were all accorded with the standard of the established quality control. CONCLUSION: The established TAL method is applicable for bacterial endotoxin test of chlorphenamine maleate injection.
