Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Objective To explore the extent of lung injury induced by hyperoxia, and the activity of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway(UPP) in pathophysiological progress of lung tissue in early stages. Methods Adopted completely random design,20 SD rats were divided into hyperoxia group and air control group. For the air control group, the oxygen concentration exiting the cages was analyzed with oxygen monitor and oxygen concentration remained at 210 mL/L for 72 hours;while in the hyperoxia group, the condition changed into high-density oxygen(950 mL/L) for 72 hours to estimate the hyperoxia lung injury in rats model. The contents linked morphology as pathological classification in gross finding, pathological score of lung injury and the index of pneumonedema-the ratio of moist to dry weight of lungs were mea-sured.The expressions of ubiquitin protein and the activity of proteasome 20 S and the active statement of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot methods. Results 1.The hyperoxia lung injury rat model was successfully duplicated.2.In hyperoxia group, pulmonary edema with increased ratio of moist to dry weight of lungs could be found(P=0).3.Macroscopic observation: bright red and full-stacked lung tissue, foliated or local hemorrhage on the surface, but little pleural effusion was observed in hyperoxia group. There was statistical significance of pathological classification in gross finding between hyperoxia group and air control group(P=0.005).Light microscope observation:swelled alveolar epithelium, widened alveoli wall, capillary engorgement and telangiectasis, obvious edema in interstitial tissue of pulmonary aveolus and alveolar space, increased inflammatory cells were observed in hyperoxia group. The findings of pathological score of lung injury indicated more serious injure than control group(P=0).4.The increased expression of ubiquitin protein in lung tissue was discoved by using immunohistochemistry and Western blot findings after hyperoxia exposure 72 hours.(P=0).5.The acti-vity of proteasomes 20 S in hyperoxia group was higher than that in control group(P=0).Conclusions The mainly pathological changes of lung are generated through hyperoxic exposure for 72 hours, including alveolar epithelial cell and vascular endothelial cell injury diffusely, inflammatory cell infiltration and pulmonary edema.Active the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway is connected with the pathophysiological process of lung injury in the initial stages of hyperoxia-exposure.

OBJECTIVETo develop a method for the determination of salvianolic acid B and paeoniflorin in Shuangdan granules.
METHODThe chromatographic separation was performed on a Zorbax SB C18 column with a linear gradient elution of phosphoric acid-water (0.05:100) and phosphoric acid-acetonitrile-methanol (0.05:4:96) was used. The flow rate was 1 mL x min(-1) and column temperature was set at 25 degrees C. The UV detection wavelength was set at 230 nm.
RESULTThe linear ranger was of 0.710-22.7 microg for salvianolic acid B and 0.103-3.30 microg for paeoniflorin. Three batches of Shuangdan granules were analyzed, and the content of salvianolic acid B ranged from 6.46-11.6 mg x g(-1) and paeoniflorin ranged from 1.44-1.78 mg x g(-1).
CONCLUSIONThe method was accurate, reproducible, reliable, and could be used for quantitative control of Shuangdan granules.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate effects of arthroscopic debridement and visco supplement for the treatment of degenerative osteoarthropathy of ankle.
METHODSFrom October 2008 to May 2012, 30 patients with degenerative osteoarthropathy of ankle were treated with arthroscopy after ineffective treatment with conservative methods. Two patients lost follow-up. Among the patients, 19 patients were male and 9 patients were female, ranging in age from 28 to 56 years old, with a mean of (40.0+ 5.9)years old. Patients who had inflammatory or postinfectious arthritis, rheumatoid, gout, tuberculosis were excluded. Other exclusion criteria included previous arthroscopic treatment for ankle osteoarthropathy, intraarticular corticosteroid injection within the previous 6 months, a major neurologic deficit, serious medical illness and pregnancy. Articular cartilage iijuries were classified according to Outerbridge by the same doctor. Follow procedures were involved in the surgery: synovectomy, debridement or excision of fragments of articular cartilage or chondral flaps and osteophytes that prevented full extension. Microfracture of chondral defects was not performed. Ogilvie-Harris criteria was used to evaluate therapeutic effects.
RESULTSAccording to Ogilvie-Harris criteria, 10 patients got an excellent results, 14 good, 3 poor and 1 bad. The mean VAS score of pain decreased from preoperative 7.5+/-1.3 to postoperative 2.4+/-2.3. The score of dorsiflexion range (ROM-D) had no obvious change after operation [preoperative(27.0+/-7.3)degree and postoperative(29.0+/-5.6)degree]. The mean Tegner score increased from preoperative 2.7+/-1.3 to postoperative 5.6+/-2.2.
CONCLUSIONSynovectomy, debridement or excision of chondral flaps and osteophytes under arthroscopy, as well as scheduled intraarticular sodium hyaluronate injection should be recommened to treat ankle degenerative osteoarthropathy.

9.Advances in research of the mechanism of "covert disorder" in diabetic skin.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2012;28(1):51-53
The diabetic ulceration is not uncommon, and becomes refractory, as the skin in a diabetic patient is relatively thin as well as hypoesthetic and less sensitive to temperature. As there are already preexisting histological and cellular derangement in the skin, healing of the skin injury is difficult, thus resulting in an intractable ulceration. When diabetes is not controlled, the skin contents of sugar and advanced glycation end product accumulate, invoking cellular deformation and accumulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP), resulting in an imbalance between MMP and its inhibitors, malfunction of growth factors, and inflammatory reaction. These processes lead to obvious skin thinning, denaturation of connective tissues, thickening of vascular basal membrane, and neuropathy, etc. These pathological alterations could be recognized as "covert disorder" of skin in diabetic patients and may be underlying disorders in producing indolent diabetic ulcers.

Chinese Journal of Cancer 2001;20(2):160-163
Objective: The current study was designed to investigate the role of foods such as fish juice, pickles, bacon, salted fish, smoked food, fruit and vegetables in the etiology of esophageal cancer in Chaoshan region of China. Method: A large case-control study was conducted to investigate 1248 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus and 1248 controls matched by sex and age. Results: After adjusting for the effects of occupation, areas of residence, income, alcohol, cigarette and tea, a strong association with a clear dose-response was observed between the frequencies of fish juice eating and esophageal cancer (P<0.01), and the relative risk for women was 23.5 and for men was 3.1, respectively. The results for pickles were similar to fish juice. A protective effect of fruits on esophageal cancer was observed both in women (OR=0.13) and in men (OR=0.46), and the risk was decreased (P< 0.01) as frequencies of fruits eating was increased. The risks were significantly higher in bacon and salted fish consumers than that in non-consumer, but the dose-response relationship was not significant. No significant effects, however, were detected in vegetables and smoked food consumption. Conclusions:To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report on relationship between the fish juice and high risk of esophageal cancer in population. Further epidemiological and experiment study are required to find a biological causal relationship between them.
