Objective: To investigate the roles of tooth mass and bon e mass in dental crowding. Methods: Tooth mass and basal bone mass were measured with electronic vernier and a computer aided dental cast measurem ent and analysis system developed by faculty of stomatology of Kunming Medical C ollege in 91 individuals with normal occlusion and 101 with dental crowding aged from 16 to 26 years old(on the average age of 21). Ttest was applied in st atistic analysis. Results :Teeth width was bigger (P05), PMBAW U and PMBAW L were smaller (P

Objective:To explore the antibacterial effect of Belamcanda Chinensis DC and Por tulaca oleracece L on P.aeruginosa (PA) in vitro. Methods:Fourty six strains PA were tested for minimum inhibition concentrati on ( MIC) by water decoct agents of the two drugs.MIC50 and MIC90 were st atistically studied. Results:For Belamcanda Chinensis DC,MIC was 31.25~3.90 g/L;MIC50 was 7 .81 g/L,and MIC90 was 15.62 g/L;whereas, for portulaca oleracece L,MIC was 31 .25~7.81 g/L, MIC50 was 15.62 g/L,and MIC90 was 31.25 g/L.Conclusion:Both of the two drugs have stronger antibacterial effects on P.ae ruginsosa in vitro.

Objective To establish an evaluation system to assess the effect of personnel training program for health professionals in the hospital,in order to achieve the goal that improve the overall competitiveness of the hospital. Methods Comparing and analyzing the differences in research project, research achievements, personnel capacity building before and after implementation of the training program.Paired T-test was used to exam the differences. Results There are statistically significant differences for proposed analyses (p ≤ 0.05).Conclusions The outcome of this study indicates that the personnel training program is extremely important to further development of the hospital.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of topical anesthesia with inhaled aerosolized lidocaine during tracheal intubation under the guidance of fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) in patients with cervical cord injury complicated with high paraplegia. Methods Sixty-four patients with cervical cord injury complicated with high paraplegia were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 32 each): group Ⅰ aerosol inhalation and group Ⅱ spray and cricothyroid membrane puncture. In group Ⅰ aerosolized 2% lidocaine was inhaled. In group Ⅱ after the pharynx and larynx was sprayed with 2% lidocaine, cricothyroid membrane puncture was performed and then 2% lidocaine 2 ml was injected. Midazolam 0.01 mg/kg and fentanyl 1 μg/kg were injected iv in both groups 15 min before tracheal intubation guided by FOB. During tracheal intubation guided by FOB, the intubation condition was assessed, and MAP, HR, ECG and SpO2 were monitored. Results The satisfactory rate of intubation condition and success rate of intubation under the guidance of FOB were significantly higher, and the incidences of arrhythmia and bad memory lower in group Ⅰ than in group Ⅱ ( P < 0.05). Conclusion The topical anesthesia with inhaled aerosolized 2% lidocaine is helpful for improving the FOB-guided tracheal intubation condition, and can reduce the occurrence of adverse effects in patients with cervical cord injury complicated with high paraplegia.

Objective To quantitatively analyze the energy loss (EL) in left ventricle with vector flow mapping (VFM) in hypertensive patients, and try to reveal the correlation of EL with cardiac structure and function. Methods Hypertension group:52 hypertensive individuals were enrolled in our study, divided into 4 subgroups:①14 patients with normal geometry(NG);②20 patients with concentric remodeling(CR);③15 patients with concentric hypertrophy(CH);④3 patients with eccentric hypertrophy(EH)(not enrolled in subgroup analysis).Health control group were composed of 32 healthy volunteers.LVEF,LVMI and E/e′ were measured. And the EL in left ventricle was measured at different phases and different segments based on VFM images. Results ①EL comparison:in the phrase of late diastole(DL),isovolumic contraction(IVC) and rapid ejection(RE),compared with the control group,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle in hypertension group increased (P<0.05);Compared with the control group,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle in each subgroup of hypertension increased (P<0.05);EL among different subgroups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);②Correlation analysis:in the phrase of DL,IVC and RE,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle showed significant positive correlations with LVMI and with E/e′ (P<0.05).In the phrase of DL,EL in entirety and each segment of left ventricle showed significant negative correlations with LVEF(P<0.05).Conclusions EL measured quantitatively by VFM is more sensitive to reflect the changes of hemodynamic in hypertensive individuals.EL is closely correlated with cardiac structure and function.

Objective Based on the published articles, this paper aims to study the pattern and probability of lymph nodes metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and establish a radiotherapy standard for selecting and delineation of clinical target volume of neck lymphatics for NPC patients with N0 or N1.Methods Clinical trials about NPC by MRI as the main or only diagnostic imaging way were collected and extracted from database, such as WanFang,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane Library.Statistical analyses were performed using Stata software, version 12.0.Results Twenty-one clinical trials from 963 original articles were included in this analysis. The most commonly involved regions included retropharyngeal (67%) and level Ⅱ lymph nodes (71%).The overall probability of levels Ⅲ,Ⅳ and Ⅴnodal involvement were 37%,14% and 21%,respectively.Low-risk node groups included levels ⅠA,ⅠB,Ⅵ nodes, and the rates of lymph node metastasis were 0,2%,2% and 1%,respectively.Nodal metastases followed an orderly pattern of top-down,and the probability of skip metastasis between levels varied between 0.5% ~7.9%.Conclusion Lymph node metastasis in NPC follows a predictable and orderly pattern. The rarity of metastasis in certain nodal groups andskip metastasis suggest that reduced treatment volume is feasible in conformal radiotherapy for NPC patients with No or N1.
