3.The role of radiotherapy in nipple-areola complex-sparing mastectomy for patients with breast cancer
China Oncology 2016;26(5):378-382
The technique of nipple-areola complex (NAC)-sparing mastectomy (NSM) facilitates the breast reconstruction due to preserving the skin and NAC of breast in the treatment of breast cancer. Key issues still remain controversial in NSM, in terms of the role of radiotherapy combined with NSM and sequence of radiotherapy and NSM, which arise from the consideration of the oncology safety. Some investigations addressed that post-NSM external beam irradiation and intra-operative radiotherapy (IORT) combined with NSM could reduce the local recurrence rate. Based on the appropriate patient selection and good quality of surgery, radiotherapy would be applied in different strategies of combination with NSM according to the risk of local recurrence of the cancer.
4.Input-output analysis of 17 research institutions with data envelope analysis
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2012;25(1):24-27
As more attention is given to people's life and health,China continues to increase investment in scientific research to improve the level of medical research. However, the efficiency of the investment is unknown. In this study,we used the method of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to investigate the input-output relative efficiency of the projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and completed in 2009 at 17 research institutes. We found 11 institutes to be DEA efficient, and 6 to be inefficient. It also showed that adjustment of research structure and setting performance objectives may improve the level of research management and increase the efficency of the investment.
5.Effect of baicalin on invasion and metastasis of human hepatocellular line BEL-7402 in vitro

Objective To study the effect and the mechanism of baicalin on invasion and metastasis of(human) hepatocellular line BEL-7402.Methods Human hepatocellular line BEL-7402 were cultured and treated respectively with 5,10,20 mg/L baicalin for 48 h.The invasion and adhesion of the BEL-7402 cells were examined in Boyden chamber, cell migration and morphology were also observed. The expression of MMP_(2),TIMP_(2),_()integrin ?_(1,)and E-cd proteins of human hepatocellular line BEL-7402 was determined by flow cytometry. Results Baicalin inhibited invasion, adhesion and migration of hepatocellular line BEL-7402 in vitro in a dose dependent manner(P
6.Effects of GLP-1 treatment on protection of B cells in Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima fatty rats
Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2003;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate the effect of GLP1 on the blood glucose in type 2 diabetic rats, and its protective effects on the islet B cells. Methods: Thirty rats were divided into three groups: spontaneous type 2 diabetes animal model OLETF rats,GLP-1 [from the twelfth week 56 ?g/(kg?d),sc] therapy group and LETO rats as control. In the 14th and 20th weeks, standard OGTT including fast and 2 h-plasma glucose were measured respectively. In the 14th weeks,3 rats from each group were killed randomly, and the rest of the rats were killed until the 20th week.Immunostaining with the marker of PCNA,TUNEL,and insulin assessed metabolic changes in the islet. Ultrastructure of the B cell was observed with the electronic microscope. Results: In the 14th and 20th week,AUC for insulin were higher in treated animals(10.86?1.56 vs.9.07?1.28,P
7.The changes of diabetic diagnostic criteria and consideration of using glycosylated hemoglobin for diabetes diagnosis
Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2001;0(09):-
The diagnostic criteria of diabetes has been changed several times in the latest thirty years. The diagnostic criteria is based on plenty of epidemic studies, especially the relationship between the glucose level and the microvascular complications. However, there are many problems in the clinical practice of using the recent diagnostic criteria(1999 WHO criteria).Glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) has been recommended as a diagnostic criteria in the 69th ADA.
8.DISTRIBUTION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF S-100 PROTEIN IN MALIGNANT MESOTHE-LIOMAS
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
Immunohistological methods were used to investigate the presence of s-100 protein in 16 cases of malignant mesothelioma (MM) and 20 metastatic gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma of peritoneum. Positive staining for s-100 protein was observed in 14 of 16 MM, while it was negative in all metastatic gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma of peritoneum. Since antibodies to s-100 protein are readily available as standardised commercial products, the combined immunolocalisalion of s-100 protein should prove to be an efficient routine means of differentiating MM from difficult cases of metastatic gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma of peritoneum, in both necropsy and surgical cases.
9.Establishment of precision-cut fibrotic liver slice technique
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2004;0(08):-
AIM: To establish the technique of precision-cut fibrotic liver slice (PCLS) and grope the optimal cultural conditions for researching the liver xenobiotic metabolism in vitro and the drug interaction. METHODS: Complex factors (higher fat diet, alcohol and CCl 4) were used to make the animal model of liver fibrosis. Fibrotic liver slices were prepared and cultivation system was established. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) leakage, glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity and 3[4,5-Dimethythiazole-2-yl]-2,5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) reduction were chosen as indexes to assess the viability of the slice in different thickness, medium pH and cultural time. RESULTS: Rats were in earlier hepatic fibrosis after administration for 3 weeks. When the thickness of slices was 300 ?m and medium pH was 7.0, the LDH leakage, GST activity and MTT reduction could maintain on a steady level in 6 h. CONCLUSION: A 300 ?m of thickness, 7.0 of medium pH and 6 h of cultural time are the optimal slicing and culturing conditions for fibrotic liver slice.
