[Objective] To investigate the effect of Dengzhan Xixin Injection (DXI) combined with photon-autotransfusion therapy in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). [ Methods ] Sixty-one cases of DPN were randomized into 2 groups. Group A ( n=31) was given DXI 30 - 40 mL (intravenous drip, qd) and photon-autotransfusion therapy (once every 2-3 days). Group B (n = 30) was treated with anisodamine 10 - 20 mg (intravenous drip, qd) and vitamin B] 100 mg and B12 500 ?g (intramuscular injection, qd) . Changes of symptoms and signs and neural conductive velocity were observed to evaluate the curative effect after treatment. [ Results ] The markedly effective rate and total effective rate were 58.07% and 93.55% respectively in group A, which were higher than those in group B (16.67% and 63.34% respectively) , the difference being significant ( P

Objective To study the epidemic characteristics of falls among older female adults.Methods Stratified random sampling was applied in this study.Totally 969 elderly female adults aged 60 years and over from communities of Changning district were recruited and self-designed questionnaire was used in survey.Results Among 969 interviewees,238 (24.6％) had an injury in the past years,and 4.7％ had more than one fall.Among those who fell in the past year,84.5％ had suffered from different kinds of fall-related injury with injury incidence of 20.7 ％,and 32.4 ％ suffered from fracture with the fracture rate of 7.9％.There was a significant difference in fall incidence between different age groups,and the incidence increased with aging (x2 =30.26,P＜0.01).After a fall,71.6％ cases needed certain medical service,and 11.8％ were hospitalized for treatment.Among those suffered from fall-related injury,the activities of 29.3％ patients were decreased,and 3.0％ lost the ability to live independently.Most falls (31.2％) occurred at home.Among those,61.8％ of patients considered the reason of their falls was the interaction between intrinsic hazards and environmental hazards.Conclusions High incidence and severe consequence of fall appear among elderly female adults.More attention should be paid to this population.

ObjectiveTo investigate whether miR-25 targets KLF4 to regulate the growth of gastric cancer cells and lucidate the mechanism of miR-25 producing functional effects in gastric cancer cells. Methods The expression levels of miR-25 and KLF4 were detected by qRT-PCR in 35 pairs of gastric cancer tissues of patients. Target genes of miR-25 were predicted using Targetscan and verified though dual luciferase activity assay and west-ern blot. MTT assay and clone formation assay were detected after downregulated miR-25 and overexpressed KLF4 respectively. Results miR-25 was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues with KLF4 downexpresstion. Downreg-ulated miR-25 and overexpressed KLF4 respectively can significantly reduce the proliferation of gastric cancer cells,the results were opposite when overexpression of KLF4. Conclusion miR-25 promotes gastric cancer cells proliferation by targeting KLF4.

The cytolytic effect of perforin is a mechanism of anti-virus,killing microbial-infected cells and tumor cells.Perforin is a very important non-specific immune factors in fish.In order to understand the function of perforin,the cDNA of grass carp perforin C-terminal peptide was amplified from grass carp liver and kidney cDNA library.It contains a protein kinase C conserved region 2(C2).The cDNA was connected with pET32a,and transformed to expression bacteria DE3.PFP-C was expressed by a prokaryotic expression system and then purified by affinity chromatography.It showed a significant haemolytic activity when tested with rabbit red cells,the optimal pH for haemolytic activity was 7.5,and its haemolytic function dependents on Ca2+ apparently.

Objective To study the expression levels of inducible costimulator (ICOS) on CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood in patients with chronic hepatitis B and its change after treated with interferon.Methods All 56 patients were divided into two groups (interferon group has 28 cases,lamivudine group has 28 cases),and interferon group treated by PEG-IFN-α 2a,lamivudine group treated by lamivudine,respectively.There were 20 healthy individuals as control group.The levels of ICOS on CD4+ T cells of patients with chronic hepatitis B were kinetically detected by flow cytometry.The copies of HBV DNA in sera were dynamically detected by real-time PCR.Results The levels of ICOS on CD4+ T cells in patients with chronic hepatitis B was higher than that of normal controls(P＜0.001 ).However,the expressions of ICOS on CD4+ T cells in patients could be deduced by PEG-IFN-α 2a and obviously decreased after treatment.There was significant difference between interferon group and lamivudine group (P＜0.05 in 24 weeks,and P＜0.01 in 48 weeks).After treatment,the change values of ICOS in interferon group was positively correlated with the change copies of HBV DNA (r =0.972,P＜0.001 ).However,the change values mentioned above that did not find correlation in lamivudine group(r=-0.101,P=0.608).Conclusion The study shows the patients with chronic hepatitis B have disordered in cellular immunity and increased with the expression of ICOS on CD4+ T cells.PEG-IFN-α 2a could decrease the expression of ICOS on CD4+ T cells in patients,and correct the Th2 type immune polarization to some extent,and that plays a positive role in antiHBV.

Objective To compare the internal fixation methods for treatment of intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients.Methods One hundred and sixty four elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures were treated from June 2006 to September 2011.The fractures were fixed with dynamic hip screws (DHS,n =42),locking proximal femur plate (LPFP,n =40),Gamma nails (n =36) or proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA,n =46),respectively.The clinical data were collected and the operative time,blood loss,time of clinical healing,postoperative complications and Harris hip scores of 6 months after surgery were compared among groups.Results All patients were followed-up for 6 to 36 months.The operative times of DHS,LPFP,Gamma nails and PFNA groups were (103 ± 15),(90 ± 13),(79 ± 11)and (65 ±9)min,respectively(F =2.87,P ＜0.05).The blood loss of 4 groups was (202 ±23),(181 ±23),(98 ± 13) and (87 ± 11) ml,respectively (F =3.21,P ＜ 0.05).The times of clinical fracture healing were (16.1±1.9),(14.6±1.8),(12.9±1.7) and (11.5±1.4) weeks,respectively(F=2.66,P＜0.05).The postoperative complications of 4 groups were 4/42,3/40,2/36 and 1/46,respectively (x2 =5.67,P ＜0.05).The Harris hip scores of 6 months after surgery of 4 groups were 81％ (34/42),85％ (34/40),89％ (32/36)and 93％ (43/46),respectively(H =20.03,P ＜0.05).Conclusions In treatment for intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients,the efficacy of intramedullary fixation (Gamma nails and PFNA) is better than extramedullary fixation DHS and LPFP).PFNA is more effective than other 3 methods and should be preferentially chosen.

Objective To investigate the effects of the site for access to internal jugular vein (lateral versus anterior),lying position of patients (supine versus Trendelenburg),and head rotation (0°,20°,and maximum) during central venous catheterization on the location depth and cross-sectional area (CSA) of the right internal jugular vein (IJV).Methods Fifteen healthy volunteers were recruited in this prospective observational study from September 2008 to October 2008.Healthy volunteers were placed in flat supine position and 15°.Trendelenburg position separately.In each position,IJV were measured ultrasonographically from lateral site and anterior site with the head oriented at 0°,20°,and maximum rotation separately.Data of measured CSA and location depth of internal jugular vein in different positions were compared.Results The largest CSA (2.16 ±0.89) cm2 and location depth [(1.38 ± 0.43)cm] were occurred at the lateral approach in Trendelenburg position with head oriented at maximum rotation.The CSA in Trendelenburg position was larger than that in flat supine position.Only at the maximum head rotation,lateral approach got statistically larger CSA.The effects of head rotation varied with different degrees of rotation.Conclusions Site of approach,lying position and head rotation had noticeable effects on internal jugular vein cross-sectional area.Trendelenburg position increased the CSA of IJV.

Objective To analyze on the efficacy and toxicity of MAAE (MIT ,Ara-C,AMSA,VP16)regimens on treating refractory and relapsed acute leukemia in adult patients. Methods MAAE (MIT, Ara-C,AMSA, VP16) regimen, which consisted of MIT 10mg/d (d1～3), intravenousdrop, Ara-C 200mg/d (d1～7),intravenousdrop, AMSA 75 mg/d (d1～3), intravenousdrop VP16 100 mg/d(d1～4), intravenousdrop were used to treat 25 cases of adults with refractory and relapsed acute leukemia (AL). G-CSF 5 μg/kg were used every day when WBC＜0.5×109/L. Results In the 25 cases with refractory and relapsed acute leukemia, 14 cases (56 %) reached complete remission, 5 patients(20 %) reached partial remission, the total effective rate was 76 %. Conclusion MAAE regimen was a very effective alternative treatment for CR induction in adult patients with refractory and relapsed AL and low toxicity.
