Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Jianpiqinghua Particles and Wentong Powder on early stage of diabetic feet adding to basal treatment,and to establish a standardized clinical diabetic foot prevention program of integrated traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:Take a randomized blind placebo-controlled add-on trial:The treatment group of 20 was given with Jianpiqinghua Particle(oral),Wentong Powder(foot washing),the control group of 20 was given placebo by same methods.The course in both groups was16 weeks.The change of total effect body and foot feeling(VAS scale),electro-neurophysiological examination and ankle/brachial ratio were evaluated.Results:The TCM group was superior to the control group in improving the body and feet clinical symptoms,nerve conduction velocity,evoked potential amplitude and the ABI index(P

Objective To explore the effect of meridian push press cooperating with medicinal food therapy on the quality of life in patients with angina disease. Methods Random parallel controlled clinical research was used in this research. 122 patients with angina disease were divided into four groups: 31 in the meridian push press group, 30 in the medicinal food therapy group. 31 in the meridian push press cooperating with medicinal food therapy group, and 30 in the control group. The control group was treated with the conventional treatment and nursing, the other three groups were treated with not only the conventional treatment and nursing, but also the meridian push press treatment, medicinal food therapy and meridian push press cooperating with medicinal food therapy. There were 3 courses of treatment and each course of the treatment was lasted in 2 weeks. The quality of life in patients with angina disease was evaluated by the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ), the MOS item short from health survey (SF-36) and the nitroglycerin consumption.Results Degree of physical activity limitation scores in Seattle Angina Questionnaire for four groups were different[(65.77 ±8.55), (66. 17 ±8.31), (74.68 ±4.28) and (62.63 ±8.45)], with a statistical significance( F = 14. 15 ,P ＜ 0. 01 ). Four groups of patients after 3 courses of treatment in the Seattle Angina Questionnaire, the MOS item short from health survey and the nitroglycerin consumption were significantly different by analysis of variance (F=8.55,7.53,8.46;P＜0. 01). Conclusions The meridian push press cooperating with medicinal food therapy can improve the curative effect and quality of life in patients with angina disease. It will provide the basis for TCM nursing and the research results can be promote to the community nursing to play a role of secondary prevention.

Applications of network pharmacology are increasingly widespread and methods abound in the field of drug development and pharmacological research. In this study, we choose rosiglitazone compound as the object to predict the targets and to discuss the mechanism based on three kinds of prediction methods of network pharmacology. Comparison of the prediction result has identified that the three kinds of prediction methods had their own characteristics: targets and pathways predicted were not in accordance with each other. However, the calcium signaling pathway could be predicted in the three kinds of methods, which associated with diabetes and cognitive impairment caused by diabetes by bioinformatics analysis. The above conclusion indicates that the calcium signaling pathway is important in signal pathway regulation of rosiglitazone compound, which provides a clue to further explain the mechanism of the compound and also provides a reference for the selection and application of methods of network pharmacology in the actual research.

This study was designed to use iTRAQ technology coupled with 2D LC-MS/MS to study the comparative proteomics of different processing technology for pilose antler. 1015 proteins were identified with 2D LC combined with MOLDI TOF/TOF mass spectrometry. Comparative analysis with Protein Pilot (Version 4.5) revealed that 87 proteins were changed (P ≤ 0.05, the ratio of > 1.50 or < 0.60 as the threshold selection of difference proteins), of which 24 were up regulated and 33 were down regulated in the traditional frying process (TFP) compared with the fresh pilose antler (P ≤ 0.05). 7 significant different proteins (P ≤ 0.001), most of these significantly changed proteins were found to be involved in calcium ion binding and ATP binding associated with human healthy. Freeze drying with protective agent (FDP) (Trehalose) can improve the content of significantly different proteins (P ≤ 0.001) including Collagen alpha-1 (XII) chain (COL12A1) and Collagen alpha-1 (II) chain (COL2A1). The significant function involves in platelets activating, maintenance of spermatogonium, and disorder expression in tumor cells. The functional annotation by Hierarchical clustering and GO (gene ontology) showed that the main molecule functions of the proteins significantly changed in these processes were involved in binding (52.7%), catalytic (25.3%), structural molecule and transporter (6.6%).

AIM To investigate the anti-inflammation protective effects of sodium ferulate (SF) on colitis rats and its mechanism. METHODS The colitis model of rats was produced by intracolon enema with acetic acid. SF and 5-ASA were used intracolonically for a week. The colon mucosadamage index (CMDI) was evaluated. Nitric oxide (NO), myelopexoxidase (MPO), prostaglandin (PGE_2), and the levels of expression of constitutive nitric oxide synthase(cNOS), induce nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and nuclear factor-kappaBp65(NF-?Bp65) in the rats colon were detected by corresponding kits and immunohistochemical technology. RESULTS SF (200,400,800 mg?kg -1 ) can decrease the extents of CMDI and the levels of NO, MPO, PGE_2, the expression of cNOS, iNOS, COX-2, and NF-?Bp65 in model group in a dose-dependent manner while the expression of COX-1 changes littlely. CONCLUSION SF is a NOS and partial selective COX-2 inhibitor and show therapeutic effect on colitis in rats.

Objective To investigate the clinical spectrum of respiratory viruses in infants and young children with acute lower respiratory infection(ALRI) in Chongqing area from 2003-2007.And to assess the clinical diagnostic value of virus detection in nasopharyngeal secretions(NPS) and serum viral antibody detection for ALRI.Methods Cases of 2 529 specimens of NPS in hospitalized children with ALRI from Apr.2003 to Oct.2007 were taken for detecting 7 common respiratory virus antigens by immunofluorescence assay including respiratory syncytial virus (RSV),adenovirus(ADV),influenza A(IA),influenza B (IB),parainfluenza virus1-3 (PIV1,PIV2,PIV3).Fifty-five thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven samples were tested for ADV-IgM by ELISA.Among those,45 159 cases were further tested for RSV-IgM by ELISA.Results Respiratory virus pathogens were detected in 778 samples out of 2 529(30.76%) including RSV positive in 668 samples (85.86%),PIV3 positive in 75 samples (9.64%),IA positive in 22 samples (2.57%),ADV positive in 15 samples ( 1.93%),only 1 sample ( 0.13%) positive for both PIV1 and RSV. And the positive rate of RSV-IgM was 0.9%-15.2%,and the positive rate for ADV-IgM was about 0.6%-10.6%.RSV infection occured mainly in winter and spring.Conclusions Respiratory virus is the most common pathogen in children with ALRI during the survey period in Chongqing area,especially for RSV infection.The pattern of RSV circulation varied every year with seasonality.It is suggest that this year is peak one for RSV infection from the monthly positive results,especially in Feburary(50%) in 2007.But the infection rate of PIV3,IA,ADV and PIV1 are lower,particularly IB and PIV2 infection have not been seen for the last 5 years.It is fast and accurate to detect RSV antigen and suit to clinical diagnosis by using immunofluorescence assay than other antibody detection.

Objective To investigate the clinical manifestation of trachoma,and to select the appropriate laboratory test for clini- cal diagnosis.Design Retrospective case series.Participants Retrospective analysis of medical records from 61 patients with trachoma from Jan 2003 to Aug 2006 in Bejing Tongren Eye Center.Methods Grades of trachoma diagnosis were according to the criteria de- signed by Chinese Ophthalmological Society (1979).The general state of health,case history,and the laboratory investigations of pa- tients were recorded.Laboratory tests included the conjunctiva scraping for inclusions,C.trachomatis immune antigen test and PCR test.Main Outcome Measures Manifestation of corneal and conjunctiva,the results of laboratory tests of C.trachomatis.Results Out of sixty-one patients including 28 males and 33 females,the average old was (29.05?19.99) years.88.5% cases were inⅠstage of tra- choma,8.2% were inⅡstage,and 3.3% were inⅢstage.The C.trachomatis inclusions were found in 7 (11.5%) scraping smears.42 (68.9%) cases were positive in C.trachomatis antigen test.46 (75.4%) cases were positive in PCR tests.The positive rates of antigen and PCR test were significantly higher than that of scraping (P=0.00).Conclusions A majority of clinical patients were inⅠstage of trachoma.The degree of their distress was minimal.It is necessary to apply C.trachomatis,antigen test or PCR test to improve the clin- ical diagnosis.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy in the treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR) of lung qi deficiency and cold syndrome between Jin's three-needle therapy and western medication.

METHODSSixty-six patients were randomized into an acupuncture group and a western medication group, 33 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied at three-nose points [Yingxiang (LI 20), Shangyingxiang (EX-HN 8) and Yintang (GV 29); Cuanzhu (BL 2) was added for frontal headache] and three-back points [Dazhu (BL 11), Fengmen (BL 12) and Feishu (BL 13)], once every day. Ten treatments made one session. Two sessions of treatment were required. In the western medication group, desloratadine oral suspension was prescribed, 5 mg each time, once a day, for 20 days. The scores of the symptoms and physical signs in AR patients as well as the clinical efficacy were observed between the two groups.

RESULTSThe total effective rate was 93.9% (31/33) in the acupuncture group, which was better than 72.7% (24/33) in the western medication group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of AR symptoms and physical signs as well as the total score were all reduced compared with those before treatment in the two groups (all P < 0.01). The score of every item in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the western medication group after treatment (score of symptoms: 4.70 +/- 2.07 vs 6.55 +/- 2. 69, score of physical signs: 0.85 +/- 0.67 vs 1.45 +/- +0.62, total score: 5.36 +/- 2.70 vs 8.00 +/- 2.91, all P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONJin's three-needle therapy achieves superior efficacy on AR of lung-qi deficiency and cold syndrome, which is better than desloratadine oral suspension.
