ObjectiveTo explore the effects of fluoxetine on special learning and memory and serum S100B level in depressed model rats.MethodsAdult male SD rats were divided into six groups randomly according random digits table:control group ( A ),depressed model group ( B ),group of depressed model treated with single dose of fluoxetine for one day ( C ),group of depressed model treated with fluoxetine for one week (D),group of depressed model treated with fluoxetine for two weeks (E) and group of depressed model treated with fluoxetine for four weeks (F),ten rats in each group.Except control group, others were subjected to forced-swimming for four weeks,15 min a day.Fluoxetine (10 mg/kg) was given intragastric administration to group C-F before swimming everyday.Morris water maze ( MWM ) was used to measure the spatial learning and memory of rats.ELISA was used to determine the level of serum S100B.ResultsIn the hiding platform test of MWM,there was significant longer of escape latency (EL) in B group than that in A group(P < 0.05 ).And the EL in all groups treated with fluoxetine became shorter with the prolonging of treatment. In the probe test, there were significant longer time in target quadrant in D,E,F than in other quadrant (F =5.162,P < 0.01 ).The levels of serum S100B were lower in E,F groups ( E group ( 0.91 ± 0.23 ) ng/ml,F group ( 0.85 ± 0.21 ) ng/ml) than that in B group (( 1.26 ±0.61 )ng/ml,P<0.05).ConclusionChronic administration of fluoxetine could improve the impairment of spatial learning and memory and reverse the increase of S100B level in serum of depressed model rats.

Objective To study the expression of telomerase and its possible clinical significance in patients with condyloma acuminatum, bowenoid papulosis,Bowen's disease and vulvar squamous cell car- cinoma. Methods The human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) was detected by immunohisto- chemistry technique in all patients.Histopathological analysis was done in patients with bowenoid papulosis or Bowen's disease. Results There was a significant difference in the expression of hTERT among normal tissue, condyloma acuminatum and squamous carcinoma, and the expression rate increased successively from normal control to squamous carcinoma. In bowenoid papulosis, the expression of bTERT was significantly higher as compared to that in condyloma acuminatum, significantly lower as compared to that in squamous carcinoma, and was as the same as that in Bowen's disease.Histopathologically, the degree of cell atypia was significantly higher in Bowen's disease than that in bowenoid papulosis. Conclusions The expression of telomerase increases successively from normal skin, benign tumors to malignant carcinomas, which sug- gests that the expression of telomerase may play an important role in both cell proliferation and immortaliza- tion.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the intertrochanteric fractures with or without lateral femoral wall fractures using proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA).Methods From May 2008 to June 2011,102 patients with intertrochanteric fractures were treated with PFNA.In accordance with the preoperative three dimensional CT reconstruction(3D CT) images, the group A included 41 cases with lateral femoral wall fractures, and the other 61 cases with an intact lateral wall were in group B.According to the AO/OTA classification, there were 5 cases in 31-A2,36 in 31-A3 in group A,and 61 in 31-A2 in group B.The operative time, operative blood loss, average length of stay, postoperative X-ray images, and 3D CT images were collected for each patient.Time of partial weight-bearing,full weight-bearing and fracture healing were also recorded.Clinical evaluation was made using the functional recovery scale (FRS) of hip fractures. Results The mean operation time was 56±8 min in group A vs 45±6 min in group B; the mean blood loss was 238±21 ml vs 175±11 ml; the average length of stay was 17±3 days vs 15±3 days.On the postoperative radiography, the blowout of lateral trochanteric wall only occurred in 8 (19.5%,8/41) cases in group A and 3 (4.9%,3/61) in group B.According to the postoperative 3D CT,the similar findings were seen in 36 (87.8%.36/41) cases in group A and 45 (73.8%,45/61) in group B.Eighty-two cases were followed up for 6 to 35 months (mean.19.5 months). The mean FRS score was 64.2±4.8 points in group A and 76.5±7.9 points in group B.Conclusion When treating unstable intertrochanteric fractures, iatrogenic fractures in lateral trochanteric wall could be easily caused with using PFNA.3D CT could effectively evaluate iatrogenic trauma in the intertrochanteric fractures.

Objective To evaluate the curative effects of carbon nanoparticles on central lymphnode dis -section in papillary thyroid carcinoma ( PTC) .Methods 72 PTC patients were randomly divided into two groups:carbon nanoparticle group(n=32)and the control group(n=32).Patients in the carbon nanoparticle group were injected with carbon nanoparticles during surgery .Patients in the control group had conventional surgery .The number of lymph nodes being dissected ,lymph node metastasis , and the rate of hypoparathyroidism were compared between the two groups .Results The number of lymph nodes dissected in nanoparticle group ( n =312 ) was much bigger than that in the control group (n=189)(P<0.01;t=8.476).The incidence of hypoparathyroidism in nanoparticle group(n=1)was much lower than that in the control group (n=8)(P<0.05;χ2 =4.571).The metastasis of lymph nodes has no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.01;χ2 =1.048).Conclu-sions The lymphatic tracer technique may improve the number of lymph nodes dissected in central region of PTC and reduce parathyroid gland damage .

Objective To investigate the related factors of postoperative hypocalcemia after thyroid carc-er surgery. Methods 346 cases of thyroid carcer patients undergoing surgery from Jan .2013 to Dec.2013 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were retrospectively analyzed .Results 129 cases developed hepocalcemia after thyroid surgery .Among the related factors that may cause postoperative hypocalcemia , the scope of surgery , parathyroid injury and secondary surgery might play important roles .Conclusions The inci-dence of postoperative hypocalcaemia is high after total thyroidectomy .Patients with reoperation and lymph node dissection have an increased rate of postoperative hypocalcaemia .In order to reduce hypocalcaemia incidence ,sur-gons need to protect parathyroid blood supply in thyroid surgery and give calcium after surgery .

Objective To explore the characteristic of ACE gene I/D polymorphism in Han broad jumpers .Methods Distribu‐tion of ACE gene I/D polymorphism for broad jumpers was analyzed by PCR ,DNA sequencing ,Hardy‐Weinberg and SPSS ,and the results were compared with that of normal people .Results There were II ,DD and ID in gene ACE 16 ,and the Hard‐Weinberg re‐sults showed that the subjects were group representative .The ACE DD genotype and D allele in broad jumpers was statistically higher than normal controls (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The results suggest that ACE DD genotype and D allele are associated with training sensitivity of broad jumpers and could be the molecular marker for athletes choosing genetically .
