Clinical Medicine of China 2012;28(8):884-887
Objective To explore the clinical value of preparatory treatment using estradiol valerate and mifepristone before the curettage of the late small missed abortion. Methods One hundred and twenty patients with late small missed abortion were randomly divided into two groups:pretreated group(n =660) and control group(n =60).Women in the pretreated group were given 5 mg of Estradiol Valerate 3 times/day and 25 mg of Mifepristone twice/day for 3 days each before conducted curettage on the fourth day. While for the control group, curettage was done directly. The condition of operation and the occurrence of short-and long-term complications were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the pretreated group had a significant shorter operation duration[(8.6±2.7) rnin vs.(10.5±3.4) min,t =3.390,P =0.001]and less blood lose during operation[(47.5±18.3) ml vs.(61.8±20.5) ml,t =4.031,P < 0.001].In terms of complications, the rates of incomplete curettage[(0 vs 13.3%,x2 =6.563,P =0.010],artificial abortion syndrome(3.3 % vs 15.0%,x2 =4.904,P =0.027),the cervical canal adhesion/Asherman' s syndrome(0 vs 11.7%,x2 =5.461,P =0.019),and the vaginal bleeding duration[(7.5±2.7) days vs(8.7±3.4) days,t =2.141,P =0.034]in the pretreated group were significantly lower than those in the control group. The average recovery time of menstruation after operation in the pretreated patients was significantly shorter than that in the control group[(30.5±9.3) days vs.(35.5±7.4) days,t =3.259,P =0.002].Contusion Estradiol valerate and Mifepristone as a preparatory treatment before the operation can help reduce the occurrence of complications and side effects in the late small missed abortion curettage and is helpful for the patients' recovery, thus worth wide clinical application.

Objective To investigate the expression of FTO in gastric cancer tissues and the functional significance of FTO in MGC-803 cell line. Methods The FTO mRNA was detected by RT-qPCR in 54 cases of gastric cancer samples and their paired adjacent normal control tissues. The effect of FTO overexpression in MGC-803 on cell proliferation, cell migration and invasion were detected by CCK-8,wound heal and ranswell assays, respectively. Results The expression of FTO mRNA was significantly lower than that of adjacent tissues(P<O.05).Furthermore,overexpression of FTO in MGC-803 cells inhibited cell proliferation, cell migration and invasion. Conclusions FTO is low expressed in gastric cancer tissues and inhibits gastric cancer cell line MGC-803 proliferation, migration and invasion.FTO is closely associated with the development of gastric cancer.

Objective To analyse effects of the serum levels of thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) on antithyroid drugs (ATD) treatment in patients with incipient Graves disease (GD). Methods A total of 121 patients with incipient GD, who were used anti thyroid drugs for 12 months, were included in this study. Patients were dvided into two groups:TPOAb negative group (TPOAb≤35 IU/mL, n=49) and TPOAb positive group (TPOAb>35 IU/mL, n=72). According to the degree of TPOAb drops the TPOAb positive group was sub-divided into low level positive group (35 IU/mL

Anatomic hepatic resection not only enables enough tumor-free resection margin, but also guarantee the maximal remnant of normal liver tissue.A 61-year-old male patient with hepatic cancer was admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College in February 2012.Multiple space-occupying lesions were found in segment Ⅵ,Ⅶ and Ⅷ by computed tomography (CT).The results of CT volumetry analysis showed that the left hemihepatic volume was lesser than the minimal limit of survival,so anatomic hepatic segmentectomy of Ⅵ,Ⅶ and Ⅷ with preservation of segment Ⅴ was designed to guarantee the maximal remaining of normal liver tissue.Glisson's pedicle transection was used twice to divide the right hemihepatic Glisson's pedicle, segment Ⅵ and Ⅶ Glisson's pedicle, respectivley, then the resection line was determined, and anatomical hepatic segmentectomy of Ⅵ,Ⅶ and Ⅷ was completed. With the procedures adopted, the hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury and hemodynamic instability were maximally reduced during operation.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a common kind of cardiovascular disease which does serious harm to human health. It has become the first cause of people's death in many countries and regions. This article analyzed CHD-related animal experiments in recent ten years. It made a review on progress in the establishment of chronic and acute animal models of CHD from the animal selection and model establishment. It can provide guidance for the further research of CHD.

Objective To obtain the protein interacting with inhibitor of differentiation1′(Id1′). Methods The recombinant bait plasmid pHybLex/Zeo Id1′ was constructed and transformed into yeast strain EGY48/ pSH18 34 to test pHybLex/Zeo Id1′ for non specific activation. Adult human lung cDNA libraries were screened to obtain true positive library plasmid. The true positive library clone was obtained by sequencing and basic local alignment sequence tool (BLAST). Results The recombinant bait vector, named as pHybLex/Zeo Id1′, was confirmed by sequencing. pHybLex/Zeo Id1′ was transformed into yeast strain EGY48/pSH18 34 and the transformants had no autonomously activated reporter genes. One true positive clone, obtained by screening of the adult human lung cDNA libraries, was confirmed to be Fyn by sequencing and BLAST. Conclusion Id1′ can interact with Fyn.

Objective To investigate the results of Cierny-Mader type Ⅳ posttraumatic long bone infection treated by en bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique. Methods A retrospective case series analysis was made on 36 patients with posttraumatic long bone infection treated by en bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique from January 2013 to January 2015.There were 30 male and 6 female patients between 21 and 68 years (mean,41 years).Infection control, bone union, function activity and complications were detected after operation. Results After debridement in the first stage,a segmental bone defect of 5.5 cm in length (range,2-10.9 cm) was seen in all patients.Seven patients needed a local flap transfer to cover the wound and five patients had a second debridement.Mean duration of systemic antibiotic use was 2 weeks (range,1-6 weeks) and mean time interval of second-stage bone grafting was 12 weeks after debridement (range,6-36 weeks).Mean follow-up was 29.5 months (range,24-45 months). One patient had recurrence and was cured with radical debridement and a permanent acrylic spacers insertion, with the cure rate of bone infection of 97% (35/36).All patients achieved bone union with a mean duration of 5.9 months (range,4-8 months),and were able to walk independently.Thirty patients returned to work or pre-operative physical labor. No pain and re-fracture occurred.Six patients had adjacent joint stiffness. Conclusion En bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique is associated with radical debridement, decreased recurrence rate and limb salvage, indicating a simple and effective method for Cierny-Mader type Ⅳ posttraumatic long bone infection.
