The paper proposed a new method to design and fabricate a flexible neural microelectrode arrays (MEA) for retinal prosthesis, the ion-beam technology was introduced to decrease the width of conductive wires and the distances between wires, a high density MEA (120 microelectrodes with a matrix of 10 x 12) was fabricated on a single layer of polymer from this. The MEA was proved to possess a fine electrochemical property. In vitro test, the average impedance of MEA on 1 kHz was 16 k omega +/- 2 k omega and the average phase difference was -85 degrees +/-30 degrees.

Objective To study the feasibility and efficacy of laparoscopic operation for choledochal cyst. Methods Under laparoscopy,intraoperative cholangiography was performed.The dilated commom bile duct and the gallbladder were excised,a Roux-en-Y cholangio-jejunostomy was constructed outside the abdominal cavity. Results 5 babies underwent the total cyst excision and hepato-cholangio-jejunostomy successfully and quickly recovered.Only a girl transferred to open operation because of previous operative history. Conclusions Laparoscopic treatment of choledochal cyst is feasible and satisfied outcome.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the causes, clinical manifestation and treatment principles of frontal sinus tract after the frontal approach craniotomy. METHOD: The clinic data of 13 patients with frontal skin sinus tract after the frontal approach craniotomy were retrospectively analyzed. All of them were described in the clinical record to have undergone frontal sinus mucosa pushing down or shaving and bone wax filling in the frontal sinus during the surgery, of whom 3 cases had history of frontal abscess incision drainage. All patients were performed endoscopic frontal sinus surgery and forehead skin sinus tract excision and suture. RESULT: All of the patients successfully recovered after one-stage operation, and the frontal skin sinus tract was healed. CONCLUSION The frontal approach craniotomy with postoperative frontal sinus tract was related with the improper use of bone wax tamponade and sealing of frontal sinus. The treatment principles were to remove bone wax, remove inflammatory granulation tissue around the sinus tract, and to open frontal sinus and promote frontal sinus drainage.

OBJECTIVE: To Summarize and analyze the clinical characteristics and treatment of patients with spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea, and to explore the related factors of recurrence. METHOD: Retrospective- ly analyze the clinical data of 58 patients of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea from July 2002 to July 2012, combined with its clinical characteristics, and statistically analyze the related recurrence factors. RESULT: Fifty-eight cases were accepted the nasal endoscopic repairment of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrheak, follow-up 3 years, 20 cases (34.5%) recurred, 1 case recurred in half a year after operation. In the first year, there were 10 cases recurred. In the second year there were 9 cases recurred, and 1 case recurred in the third year. Through multiariable analysis it was found that higher BMI, empty sella and skull base bone defect were the independent risk factors influencing the recurrence of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The recurrence rate of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea is high, needing long-term follow-up. Higher BMI, empty sella, skull base bone defect are independent risk factors of recurrence of the disease, and the treatment should be individualized.

Objective The aim of this study was to discuss the technical details on laparoscopic total cyst excision with Roux Y hepatoenterostomy for the treatment of choledochal cyst in children.Methods Eight patients with type Ⅰ choledochal cyst (median age 3 6 years) underwent laparoscopic cyst excision with Roux Y hepatoenterostomy from July 2001 to April 2002.Under laparoscopic guidance, intraoperative cholangiogram was performed, the gallbladder and the dilated bile duct were completely excised. Roux en Y jejunojejunostomy was performed extracorporeally through umbilical incision (2 cm), and an end to side anastomosis was carried out intracorporeally.Results Median duration of operation was 4 8 hours (3 6 to 6 0 hours), intraoperative bleeding was between 10 to 50 ml. Hospital stay after the operation ranged from 3 to 8 days. There was no intra or postoperative complication.ConclusionLaparoscopic total cyst excision with Roux Y hepatoenterostomy was effective and safe procedure for children with choledochal cyst.

Objective To investigate the effect of bilateral cervical vagotomy on microglial activation in spinal cord in a rat model of persistent postoperative pain evoked by skin/muscle incision and retraction (SMIR).Methods Thirty six male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups (n =12 each group):group sham operation,group SMIR,and group SMIR + bilateral cervical vagotomy (SV).The rat model of persistent postoperative pain evoked by SMIR was established according to the method described by Flatter.Pain behavior was assessed by paw mechanical withdrawalthreshold (MWT) to yon Frey filament stimulation at 1,3,and 5 days after operation.Four animals were sacrificed at each time point in each group to detect the expression of Iba-I (a specific marker of microglia) in the spinal dorsal horn with immunofluorescence and the microglia was counted.Results MWT was significantly decreased atT1-5 in SMIR and SV (10.3 ±0.6,9.7 ±0.8,9.6 ±0.5; 8.0 ±0.7,7.7 ±0.4,7.6 ± 0.3),while the expression of Iba-1 and microglia counts in the spinal dorsal horn were significantly in-creased at T1-5 in SMIR and SV (1428 ± 134,1245 ± 129,and 1001 ± 117 ;8.0 ± 0.7,7.7 ± 0.4,and 7.6 ±0.3; 187 ± 13,164 ± 11,and 142 ± 14;and 241 ±21,230 ±21,and 202 ± 19).In group SV as compared to group SMIR,MWT was significantly decreased at T1-5,while the expression of Iba-1 and microglia counts in the spinal dorsal horn were significantly increased at T1-5.Conclusions Vagus nerve plays an important role in microglial activation in spinal cord in a rat model of persistent postoperative pain evoked by skin/muscle incision and retraction.

AIM:To observe the effects on human keratocytes by cationic liposome LipofectamineTM 2000(LF2000).to investigate the efficiency and safe range applied in human keratocytes,and establish basis for gene therapy of human keratocytes.METHODS: Human keratocytes cultured in vivo within 3 to 5 passages were used in experiment after being identified.The effects on proliferation of cultured human keratocytes by LF2000 with different concentrations and time were evaluated By MTT:the effects of LF2000 on the survival rate and its relation with 5,10,20,40.80mg/L concentration and time were detected by trypan blue staining.related with concentration and time.The cellular proliferation and survival rate declined when concentration of LF2000 was above certain level,and this effect increased as time became longer.LF2000 had no effect with concentration under 40mg/L for 24 hours. CONCLUSION:LF2000 did ont cause cytotoxicity during a concentration range"tested",and it is hoped to play an important role in gene therapy of human keratocytes.

OBJECTIVE:To provide information concerning the rational use of prepared slices of Chinese crude drug(PSCCD)for medical staff.METHODS:Based on the”Junwei No.1”hospital information system,a database system that can provide information of rational use of PSCCD was developed through setting up database and sorting the information of PSC?CD.RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS:This system is characterized by low cost,high transportability,friendly user interface,quick inquiry and easy maintenance,which can facilitate medical staff’s convenient,quick and accurate mastering of the info_ rmation of PSCCD so as to provide better service for the patients.

OBJECTIVE: To probe into the labeling of label contents of injections in China.METHODS: The label contents of 319 kinds of injections in our hospital including dripping bottle,infusion bag,Peniciline vial,ampule,and pre-rinsing injector were investigated and analyzed in accordance with the "Rule on the Management of Package Inserts and Labeling".RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: The problem lies in the labeling of injections manifested as incomplete of label items and fuzzy printing etc.Medical institutions,pharmaceutical enterprises and drug monitoring institutions should attach great importance to the label contents of injections.
