Objective To investigate The effect of TAM(2.5 uM)in the chemotherapy of HCC and its mechanism. Methods An adriamycin-resistant human HCC cell subline(Hep-3B/ADM)was established,through exposure to gradually increased concentration of ADM.Drug sensitivity was measured by MTT.Modulation of ADM-induced apop- tosis of Hep-3B/ADM cells was assessed by Flow cytometry(FCM).PKC activity was determined by applying compet- itive protein binding method.Results TAM(2.5uM )decreased the IC50 of ADM from 1.64?g/mL to 0.23?g/mL in the Hep-3B/ADM cells.TAM exhibited a 2-fold potentiation on apoptosis caused by ADM in Hep-3B/ADM cells.With TAM,PKC activity was lower than that in control groups from 30 seconds to 24 hours.But this effect of TAM could be reversed by the co-treatment of the cells with TPA.Conclusion TAM(2.5 uM)significantly en- hanced ADM-induced cytotoxicity.The mechanism is that TAM potentiates the apoptosis induced by ADM through pro- tein kinase C inhibition.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of Shugan Yiyang Capsules combined with sertraline in the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE).

METHODSWe randomly assigned 192 PE patients to receive sertraline hydrochloride 50 mg qd (control group, n = 96) or sertraline hydrochloride 50 mg qd plus Shugan Yiyang Capsules at the dose of 4 capsules tid ( combination therapy group, n = 96) , both for 6 weeks. We compared the intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) and Chinese Index of Premature Ejaculation ( CIPE) scores between the two groups of patients before and after medication and at 6 weeks after drug withdrawal.

RESULTSCompared with the baseline, the IELT was significantly increased after 6 weeks of medication in the combination therapy group ([1.41 ± 0.53] vs [6.69 ± 3.56] min, P < 0.05) and the control group ([1.43 ± 0.48] vs [5.37 ± 2.91] min, P < 0.05), and so was the CIPE score in the former (9. 80 ± 2.06 vs 21.62 ± 4.76, P < 0.05) and the latter group ([9.41 ± 1.97] vs [20.85 ± 4.83] , P < 0.05). In comparison with the pre-medication indexes, the IELT ([3.77 ± 1.63] min) and CIPE score (16.92 ± 3.37) of the combined therapy group were remarkably improved at 6 weeks after drug withdrawal (P < 0.05), but not those of the control ([1.19 ± 1.34] min and 10.59 ± 2.38, P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONShugan Yiyang Capsules combined with sertraline have a definite and lasting effect on premature ejaculation.

Objective To study the validity,reliability and sensitivity of the simplified Chinese version of modified Barthel index (MBI) in evaluation of activities of daily living(ADL) of Chinese stroke patients. Methods Forty Chinese stroke patients (26 males and 14 females,aged 59.65±11.68 years) participated in the study.The duration of the disease averaged 21.20±19.44 days.All the patients were evaluated for three times with MBI.Barthel Index (BI) and the motor component of Functional Independence Measure (M-FIM)independently by twophysiatrists.Spearman correlation coefficients between MBI and Barthel index (BI),between MBI and M-FIM were used to test the validity of MBI.Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) were used to test both interrater and intra rater reliability of MBI.Sensitivity of MBl was analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed rank test and paired t-test.Results MBI was highly correlated with BI in each item and total score(r=0.816～1.000,P<0.01),and with M-FIM in total score(r=0.935～0.981,P<0.01).There were high reliability with MBI in the results collected by same assessor and different assessors(ICC=0.866～0.997).Furthermore,MBI was more sensitive than BI in majorities of its items and its total scores as well.Conclusions MBI has good validity and reliability as well as sensitivity in assessment of ADL of Chinese stroke patients.

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of fluticasone propionate ointment in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris. Methods A randomized comparative clinical observation was performed in 68 patients with pso-riasis vulgaris, they were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group of 34 cases was treated with fluticasone propionate ointment and the control group of 34 cases with kenacort-A ointment. The response was evaluated at 6 weeks. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 94.1% and 70.6% in the control group after 6 weeks. There was a significant difference between the two groups in treatment effective rate(P<0.01). Conclusion It is effective and safety for fluticasone propionate ointment in the treatment of psoriasis vulgar-is.

Objective To investigate the relationship between lymphadenectomy and the prognosis of endometrioid adenocarcinoma.Methods Eighty-six cases of endometrioid adenocarcinoma patients who got a clear diagnosis and accepted system surgical treatment and had complete follow-up data were collected in this study.Fifty-eight cases routined lymphadenectomy (lymphadectomy group),and 28 cases didn't routine lymphadenectomy (without lymphadectomy group).The relationship between related pathological features and lympha node dissection state were evaluated by univariate analysis,and through survival analysis to understand the relationship between lymphadenectomy and the prognosis of endometrioid adenocarcinoma.Results The 3-years disease-specific survival rate (DSS) in lymphadectomy group and without lymphadectomy group were 82.1％ and 61.8％,which reached statistical significance (P =0.006).The 3-year DSS of FIGO Ⅰ A stage in lymphadectomy group and without lymphadectomy group were 93.8％ and 95.7％ (P=0.704),the 3-year DSS of FIGO Ⅰ B-Ⅳ stage in lymphadectomy group and without lymphadectomy group were 49.1％ and 35.4％,which reached statistical significance (P =0.044).Correlation analysis results showed that FIGO stage late (≥ Ⅰ B stage),higher tumor grade (G2-3 grade) were independent poor prognosis factors of 3-year DSS,and lymphadenectomy was an independent good prognosis factor.Conclusion Lymphadectomy can improve the prognosis of endometrioid adenocarcinoma patients who are FIGO Ⅰ B-Ⅳ stage,has therapeutic significance.

Objective To assess the cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) in health subjects and patients with risk factors by means of transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD) with breath-holding maneuver, and its association with risk factors of cerebrovascular disease.Methods The breath-holding index (BHI), which was the percentage increase in middle cerebral artery(MCA)blood flow velocity and was as index of CVR assessment, was detected during breath-holding by TCD and breath-holding technique in 137 patients with various risk-factors of cerebrovascular disease and 87 normal controls.The regression analysis was done between the CVR and risk factors.Results The mean blood velocity before (Vm) and after holding test (Vm′) were significantly lower in group with age of 20-40 years than that of the age of 41-60 and over 60 years(all P

Objective To explore the changes of cerebral vasoreactivity(CVR) in patients with acute cerebral infarction of various clinical subtypes.Methods The 70 patients with acute cerebral infarction were divided into 3 subtypes:atherothrombotic infarction (AI)group(n=22), lacunar infarction (LI)group(n=33), cardiogenic infarction (CI)group(n=15).The mean blood flow velocity (Vm), pulse index(PI), resistance index(RI) in bilateral middle cerebral artery(MCA) were detected, and breath holding index (BHI) was measured by TCD in these patients through breath holding test. All the data were compared with the health controls. Results Compared with normal control group,the Vm,PI and RI were significantly increased (P0.05). Conclusions There are differents in CVR in patients with acute cerebral infarction of various subtypes. The damage of CVR is more obviously in AI and LI group. There is clinical significance for measurement of CVR to evaluate the haemodynamic changes in various subtype of acute cerebral infarction.
