Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(02):-
Objective To prolong the shelf life of RBCs stored at non-4℃, and improve the ability of blood supplying during wartime. Methods 12 bags of packed RBC were collected from 12 volunteers presenting blood, respectively, and each was averagely divided into 5 parts(groups): combination group, new solution group, ammonia group, control group and 4℃ group. The fist 4 groups were stored at room temperature, and were tested for ATP concentration daily. 4℃ group was stored at 4℃, and RBC ATP concentration was measured at the end of its shelf life, which served as a critical ATP concentration. When RBC ATP concentration of the fist 4 groups decreased to the level of critical ATP, the time of preservation was their shelf life. 6 bags of packed RBC were added the same solution as the combination group, and each was averagely divided into 4 parts(groups)after stored at room temperature for 12 days, which were washed for 0, 5,10 and 15min before centrifugation, respectively. The residual ammonia and the recovery ratio of RBC were measured after washing. Results The shelf life of combination group, new solution group, ammonia group and control group was 12,6,6 and 5 days, respectively. The residual ammonia could be effectively cleaned up after either washing 4 times with 5 min balance time or 3 times with 10 or 15 min balance time. The recovery ratio of RBC was 88.5% and 83.1% after washing 3 and 4 times, respectively. Conclusion The combination of new solution and ammonia was a good additive solution for RBC preservation at non-4℃, and the residual ammonia can be cleaned up using normal saline.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(10):-
Chemokine CXCL9/Mig (monokine induced by IFN-?) belongs to the subfamily of chemotactic cytokines known as CXC-chemokines. In vivo CXCL9 is mainly induced by IFN-? in macrophages and primary glial cells. In vitro, CXCL9 can be secreted by cells such as macrophages, microvascular endothelial cells and neutrophils, in response to the synergy of IFN-? and TLR(toll-like receptor) ligands. CXCL9 is a chemoattractant for activated T lymphocytes, tumor-infiltrating T-lymphocytes, but not for neutrophils or monocytes. The receptor specific for CXCL9 is CXCR3, a G protein-coupled protein which has seven transmembrane domain. The structure and the chemical characterization of CXCL9, as well as its effects on autoimmune deseases, allograft rejection, cancer therapy were reviewed.

Chinese Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 2006;0(01):-
OBJECTIVE To summarize the use of intraoperative neuromonitoring system for monitoring and protection of recurrent laryngeal nerve during thyroid surgery. METHODS There were 21 cases in this study, included 5 cases with thyroid cancer, 9 cases with thyroid benign tumor and 7cases with hyperthyroidism. Intraoperative neuromonitoring system includes the host monitor, stimulus detection pin of recurrent laryngeal nerve, special EMG endotracheal intubation tube which contacts vocal cord, grounding conductive circuit electrode, and anti-jamming probe. Operation method: a "three-step method" was adopted. First we revealed the cervical vagus nerve trunk and tested our instruments, and then dissected and protected the recurrent laryngeal nerve, followed by removal of thyroid tissue. RESULTS In all 21 patients, operative side recurrent laryngeal nerve were exposed from lower thyroid blood vessels to the larynx. All patients were phonated as well as before operation, and without drinking cough. CONCLUSION The intraoperative neuromonitoring system can avoid damage of the recurrent laryngeal nerves when we exposed the recurrent laryngeal nerve before resection of the thyroid tissue and tumor.

Objective To analyze risk cause on adverse apparatus events of medical institution for causing the attention of medical institutions and reducing or exempting the occurrences. Methods Through the analysis risk cause on adverse apparatus events of medical institutions, the major factors of causing the medical institutions adverse apparatus events and the ways of solving the problems were found. Results The ways and countermeasure of solving medical institutions adverse apparatus events are brought forward. Conclusion It is preventable in adverse apparatus events of medical institutions.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of furanodiene(FDE),a diterpene derived from the medicinal plant Zedoary,on apoptosis of human gastric cancer MGC-803 cells induced in vitro. METHODS MGC-803 cells were treated with FDE 46.29~740.74μmol·L-1 for 24,48 and 72 h,and the cell viability was detected with MTT assay. Cell morphology was observed by light microscopy and Hoechst33342 staining. Flow cytometry was used to detect cell apoptotic rate and cell cycle. Rh123 staining and fluorescence probe DCFH-DA were employed to detect the changes in mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and reactive oxygen species(ROS). RESULTS MTT Results showed that FDE 46.29-740.74μmol · L-1 exhibited significantly higher cytotoxicity to gastric cancer MGC-803 cells. IC50 for MGC-803 of 24,48 and 72 h treatment was 347.91,257.41 and 101.01μmol·L-1,respectively. Treatment with FDE 92.58-370.32μmol·L-1 for 24 h also caused significant morphological changes in MGC-803 cells. AnnexinⅤ-FITC/PI double staining showed that the apoptotic rate increased after FDE 92.58-370.32μmol·L-1 treatment for 24 h(P<0.05). FDE enabled MGC-803 cell cycle arrest in S phase. DCFH-DA staining showed that FDE resulted in an increase in intracellular ROS levels(P<0.05) when PDE concentration was 370.37μmol·L-1(P<0.05). MMP decreased after FDE treatment when PDE concen?tration was 370.37μmol·L-1(P<0.05). CONCLUSION FDE Possesses potent tumor selected toxicity and can induce apoptosis of MGC-803 cells through cell cycle arresting, which is related to inhibition of DNA biosynthesis.

Objective To compare the efficacy of lymph nodes(LNs) dissection between video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and thoracotomy in the treatment of clinical stage Ⅰ lung cancer. Methods A comprehensive search of PubMed,Ovid Medline,EMBASE,Web of Science,ScienceDirect, the Cochrane Library,Scopus database and Google Scholar was performed to identify studies comparing VATS and thoracotomy in LNs dissection. The data was analyzed by RevMan 5.3 software and SPSS 18.0.Results After selection,23 articles met the inclusion criteria.2 316 patients were involved in VATS group and 3 346 patients were involved in Open group.Meta analysis showed that less total LNs(95% CI:-1.64--0.60,P < 0.0001),totalLNsstations(95%CI:-0.61--0.01,P=0.04) andN1 LNs(95%CI:-0.28--0.02,P=0.02)were dissected in VATS group. On the left side, more LNs were dissected in VATS group(95% CI:0.51-3.22,P =0.007).The same number of mediastinal LNs (95% CI:-0.74-0.15,P =0.20),mediastinal LNs stations (95% CI:-0.20-0.14,P =0.76),right side LNs (95 % CI:-1.52-2.23,P =0.71) were harvested in both groups. Conclusion In the surgical treatment of clinical stage Ⅰ lung cancer, less total LNs,total LNs stations and N1 LNs were dissected in VATS group, while more left side LNs were harvested by VATS.The same number of mediastinal LNs,mediastinal LNs stations right side LNs were harvested in the two groups. This conclusion still needs to be further proved by more high-quality and large-scale RCTs.
