International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;(2):187-190
This review focuses on the current literatures on the therapeutic potential of non-renal derived adult stem cell transplantation for kidney disease.Although the therapeutic mechanism remains debatable, some reports suggest that hematopoietic stem cell transplantation holds potential for treatment of renal diseases such as renal ischemia reperfusion injury,IgA nephropathy and lupus nephritis.Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC) are capable of homing to injured kidney and contribute to activate intrinsic kidney cells, promote angiogenesis, inhibit oxidative stress and reduce apoptosis, inflammation and renal fibrosis. These renoprotective effects are likely mediated by paracrine/autocrine mechanism via cytokine and microvesicles from MSC.Pluripotent stem cells may be induced from fibroblast, mesangial cells, renal tubular epithelial cell and urine epithelial cell.Induced pluripotent stem cell(iPSC) can differentiate into renal lineage cells. The derivation of kidney disease-specific iPSC opens new avenues for the resolution to limited donor availability in kidney transplantation and for treating kidney diseases such as diabetic nephropathy and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
7.Study on the Elderly Curative Care Expenditurefrom the Perspective of Direct Economic Burden of Disease
Chinese Health Economics 2017;36(8):49-52
Objective:To explore the curative care expenditure of the elderly(above 65 years old) in Jilin based on analyzing the economic burden of the elderly. Methods:Based on the System of Health Accounts 2011(SHA2011).it estimated the total curative care expenditure and constitute of the elderly in Jilin. Results:In 2014,the curative care expenditure of the elderly in Jilin reached to 12.85 billion yuan, which accounted for 26.26% of curative care expenditure of the total population in Jilin. The per capita curative care expenditure of the elderly was 3.01 times of the per capita curative care expenditure of the 0-14 year-old group,2.87 times of the per capita curative care expenditure of the 15-64 year-old group and 2.39 times of the overall per capita curative care expenditure of residents in Jilin. From the perspective of service composition, the elderly treatment costs occurred more in the hospital with the increase in age. From the perspective of disease costs, the elderly treatment costs mainly occurred in the circulatory system diseases, respiratory diseases, cancer and other chronic diseases. The household out-of-pocket (OOP) accounted for 41.83% in curative care financing for the elderly. Conclusion:The constitute of the curative expense of the elderly in Jilin province had significant characteristics, showed as heavy OOP burden. It needed to provide policy support.

Journal of China Medical University 2015;(3):238-242,258
Objective To discuss the effect and related mechanism on epithelial?mesenchymal transition(EMT)process and invasive ability of the trophoblasts JEG?3 by targeted silencing of Notch?1 gene. Methods Notch?1?siRNA interference fragment was designed and synthesized to sta?bly transfect JEG?3 cells. Changes in the invasive ability of trophoblasts were detected by Transwell chamber invasion assay. The expressions of Notch?1 ,E?cadherin ,vimentin and EMT transcriptive regulators slug ,snail ,twist were analyzed in transfected trophoblasts by Western blot. Results The relative expression of Notch?1 protein in JEG?3 and the invasive ability of JEG?3 were significantly decreased after transfection with Notch?1?siRNA,the expression of the epithelial indictor E?cadherin was significantly increased while the mesenchymal indicator vimentin was de?creased with the reduction of EMT transcriptive regulators slug, snail and twist. Conclusion The invasion of trophoblasts was affected by targeted si?lencing of Notch?1 gene and Notch?1 can reduce the invasion of trophoblasts through influencing EMT process.

Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2009;32(1):36-38
Objective To detect whether there is neurotropism following end-to-side neurorrhaphy by means of the neuron retrograde tracing technique. Methods Forty female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: tracing main branch of musculcutaneous nerve(MC) of end-to-side group, tracing MC main branch of normal group, tracing MC motor branch of end-to-side group and tracing MC motor branch of normal group. In two end-to-side groups, the MC was transeeted, then an 1 mm epineukral window was created on the ulnar nerve. Distal end of MC nerve was sutured to the windowed ulnar nerve by means of end-to-side neurorrhaphy. In two normal control groups, MC and ulnar nerves were just exposed. Five months post operation, by means of retrograde Fluoro-Gold neuron tracing technique, the number of C5~ T1 anterior horn motoneurons and dorsal root ganglion sensory neurons of all groups were counted. Results In two tracing MC main branch groups: the motor neuron counts in end-to-side group was 245.2 ± 93.8, the motor neuron counts in normal group was 846.7 ± 264.8, and counts of end-to-side group was 30.0% of the normal control group (P< 0.01). The sensory neuron counts in end-to-side was 434.7 ± 160.4, the sensory neuron counts in normal group was 1545.2 ± 287.4, and counts of end-to-side group was 28.1% of the normal control group (P < 0.01). The per-centage of motor neuron in end-to-side group was 0.36 ± 0.09, there was no difference between end-to-side group and normal control group(P> 0.05). In two tracing MC motor branch groups: the motor neuron counts in end-to-side group was 72.3 ± 35.3, the motor neuron counts in normal group was 189.7 ± 57.0, and counts of end-to-side group was 38.1% of the normal control group (P < 0.01). The sensory neuron counts in end-to-side was 110.8 ± 52.5, the sensory neuron counts in normal group was 157.9 ± 50.0, and counts of end-to-side group was 70.2% of the normal control group (P > 0.05). The percentage of motor neuron in end-to-side group was 0.40 ± 0.14, the difference between end-to-side group and normal control group was signifieant(P < 0.01 ). Conclusion Neurotropism in collateral spouting after end-to-side neurorrhaphy is not significant.

A safe and effective vaccine against the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) is expected to have a considerable impact on elimination of acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Despite decades of effort, an effective vaccine against HIV-1 remains elusive. In recent years, the Thai HIV Vaccine Efficacy Trial (known as RV144) showed a reduction in HIV-1 acquisition by 31%, but this agent could not delay disease progression in vaccinated individuals. Clinical analyses of experimental data and experiments in vitro have revealed two main types of immunogen design: induction of broad-spectrum neutralizing antibody (bNAb) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses. bNAb can prevent or reduce acquisition of infection, and its main immunogens are virus-like particles, natural envelope trimers and stable bNAb epitopes. An effective CTL response can slow-down viral infection, and its main immunogens are "mosaic" vaccines, "conserved immunogens", and the "fitness landscape" of HIV-1 proteins. This review summarizes the strategies as well as progress in the design and testing of HIV-1 immunogens to elicit bNAb and CTL responses.
