Objective To investigate if the effects of integated traditional Chinese and westetrt medicine treat ing diabetic osteoporesis.Methods 120 patients aging from 50 to 70 years were randomly recruited into two groups according to theirgender,namely DN1 and DN2.DN1 groupwastreatedwitll vitamin D3 and DN2 groupwastreatedwitll vitaminD3 plus Tanggukang capsule.Results X-ray showed that the bone density in the DN2 group WaS higher than DNI group,and the difference was significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine has good effects in treating diabetic osteoporosis.

To emphasize the great function of medical engineering science in the development of sanitarium through analyzing the actual status of medical engineering science in military sanitarium,especially the actual status of management for medical equipment. Starting from the overall management of medical equipment,the reinforcement of medical engineering construction in sanitarium shall ceaselessly develop the connotation of medical engineering and improve the professionalism of medical engineering staff through various ways,so that it can contribute to the healthy,stable and fast development of military sanitarium.

By analyzing the present medical metrology in army medical service units,the importance of medical metrology is emphasized in the development and construction of every unit.In particular,manifold methods should be used to unceasingly improve the professional quality of medical metrology personnel.The development and construction of this subject should be unceasingly expanded in its connotation.It is expected to promote the development of medical service units in a healthy,stable and rapid way by strengthening the construction of medical metrology.

This review focuses on the current literatures on the therapeutic potential of non-renal derived adult stem cell transplantation for kidney disease.Although the therapeutic mechanism remains debatable,some reports suggest that hematopoietic stem cell transplantation holds potential for treatment of renal diseases such as renal ischemia reperfusion injury,IgA nephropathy and lupus nephritis.Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC) are capable of homing to injured kidney and contribute to activate intrinsic kidney cells,promote angiogenesis,inhibit oxidative stress and reduce apoptosis,inflammation and renal fibrosis.These renoprotective effects are likely mediated by paracrine/autocrine mechanism via cytokine and microvesicles from MSC.Pluripotent stem cells may be induced from fibroblast,mesangial cells,renal tubular epithelial cell and urine epithelial cell.Induced pluripotent stem cell(iPSC) can differentiate into renal lineage cells.The derivation of kidney disease-specific iPSC opens new avenues for the resolution to limited donor availability in kidney transplantation and for treating kidney diseases such as diabetic nephropathy and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of lidocaine epidural block combined with general anesthesia on postopera-tive related indexes of lung cancer patients. METHODS:In retrospective analysis,108 patients with lung cancer were divided into observation group (56 cases) and control group (52 cases) according to anesthesia method. Both groups were given intravenous dripping of Propofol injection combined with Fentanyl injection,inhaled 1%sevoflurane for inhalation to assist anesthesia and inter-mittent intravenous drip of Vecuronium for injection to maintain muscle relaxation. On this basis,observation group was treated with epidural infusion of 2.0% Lidocaine hydrochloride injection 5 mL/h to maintain anesthesia;control group was given epidural infusion of 0.9% Sodium chloride injection 5 mL/h to maintain anesthesia. The anesthesia time,operation time,intraoperative bleeding volume,postoperative recovery time,the amount of fentanyl,propofol,vecuronium bromide and sevoflurane,the occur-rence of postoperative anesthesia complications (nausea,vomiting,dizziness,drowsiness,skin itching) and other complications (cardiac function insufficiency,cardiovascular events,atrial fibrillation,infection,transient cerebral ischemia,acute coronary com-prehensive syndrome,cerebral apoplexy)were observed in 2 groups as well as active and calm VAS score 4 h and 1,2,3,4,5 after surgery. RESULTS:The anesthesia time,operation time,intraoperative bleeding volume,postoperative recovery time,the amount of fentanyl,propofol,vecuronium bromide and sevoflurane,calm VAS score 4 h,1 d,2 d after surgery and active VAS score 4 h,1 d,2 d,3 d after surgery,the incidence of drowsiness in observation group were significantly shorter or lower than control group,while the incidence of dizziness was significantly higher than control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the amount of vecuronium,calm and active VAS score in other time,the incidence of nau-sea,vomiting,skin itching,cardiac function insufficiency,cardiovascular events,atrial fibrillation,infection,transient cerebral ischemia,acute coronary syndrome and stroke between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Lidocaine epidural block combined with general anesthesia can reduce the perioperation bleeding amount,postoperative pain,shorten postoperative recovery time and do not increase postoperative complications.

Objective To evaluate hepatic toxicity of arsenic trioxide(As 2O 3) on rabbits with hepatic Vx-2 carcinoma by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), and its clinical signification. Methods New Zealand rabbits with hepatic Vx-2 carcinoma were managed with normal saline (experimental group 1), normal saline plus lipiodol (experimental group 2), and As 2O 3 plus lipiodol (experimental group 3) respectively by TACE once, whereas experimental group 4 was treated with As 2O 3 by transcatheter arterial infusion(TAI) for 7 days consecutively. The morphological changes of the tumor adjancent hepatic tissue were observed under light microscope and transmission electron microscope. The hepatic function of the rabbits was also determined. Results The hepatic cells of the rabbits in the experimental groups 2 and 3 were injuried in various degrees, but the injury extent was smaller than that in the experimental group 4 (P

Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of delayed radiation-induced brain injury. Methods 21 patients with delayed radiation-induced brain injury were diagnosed by CT, MRI and MRS, and were treated with dehydration, corticosteroid, neuroprective drugs and hyperbaric oxygen or surgery. Results The symptoms of 66.7% patients were obviously improved, 19.0% patients partly recovered and the symptoms of 14.3% patients were not obviously improved. Conclusion The early diagnosis and reasonable treatment could decrease delayed radiation-induced brain injury to minimal extent. The operative treatment should be performed in the patients who had operative indicators. And it was important to prevent the occurrence of delayed radiation-induced brain injury.

A safe and effective vaccine against the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) is expected to have a considerable impact on elimination of acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Despite decades of effort, an effective vaccine against HIV-1 remains elusive. In recent years, the Thai HIV Vaccine Efficacy Trial (known as RV144) showed a reduction in HIV-1 acquisition by 31%, but this agent could not delay disease progression in vaccinated individuals. Clinical analyses of experimental data and experiments in vitro have revealed two main types of immunogen design: induction of broad-spectrum neutralizing antibody (bNAb) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses. bNAb can prevent or reduce acquisition of infection, and its main immunogens are virus-like particles, natural envelope trimers and stable bNAb epitopes. An effective CTL response can slow-down viral infection, and its main immunogens are "mosaic" vaccines, "conserved immunogens", and the "fitness landscape" of HIV-1 proteins. This review summarizes the strategies as well as progress in the design and testing of HIV-1 immunogens to elicit bNAb and CTL responses.
