Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of serum procalcitonin (PCT)in early diagnosis of pul-monary tuberculosis (PTB)complicated with pulmonary infection. Methods Clinical data of active PTB patients admitted to a hospital between August and December 2013 were collected, patients were divided into bacterial infec-tion group(n=104),fungal infection group(n=37)and control group (n=95)according to whether patients were associated with bacterial infection, fungal infection, and without infection, serum PCT concentrations in three groups were compared, receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve analysis was conducted. Results The median PCT concentrations in bacterial infection and fungal infection group was 0.44ng/mL and 0.30ng/mL respectively, which was significantly higher than 0.16ng/mL of control group(Z =9.49,3.51 respectively, both P <0.001 ).The area under curve (AUC)was 0.89(0.84-0.93)and 0.69(0.61 -0.77)respectively;cut-off point was 0.31 ng/mL and 0.27 ng/mL respectively;sensitivity was 79.81%(70.57%-86.80%)and 59.46%(42.19%-74.80%)respectively;specificity was 83.16%(73.79%-89.78%)and 73.68%(63.48%-81.95%)respectively.Conclusion PCT level is a valuable predictor for early diagnosis of PTB complicated with pulmonary infection, and can provide reference for the rational use of antimicrobial agents.

Objective:To study the effects of parathyroid hormone(PTH) upon dentinogenesis by investigating the effects of hPTH1-34 on the development and calcification of parathyroidectomy rats' dentin. Methods: hPTH1-34 were injected into SD rats at different dosages after parathyroidectomy. Six weeks later lower incisors were dissected and prepared for light microscopy and image analysis. Results:The concentration of serum calcium decreased after parathyroidectomy, while increased after being injected hPTH1-34. The results of light microscopy and image analysis revealed the enlargement of the predentinal tubules and the presence of mineralization defects in the PTX group(P

0.05). Conclusions Carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum during retroperitoneoscopy has no obvious influence on hepatic functions, renal functions and myocardial enzymogram. It may not cause significant damage to patients with normal heart, hepatic, and renal functions.
5.Comparison of the Content of Gastrodine in Wild and Cultivated Gastrodia elata in Guizhou Province
China Pharmacy 2005;0(23):-
OBJECTIVE: To compare the content of gastrodine in wild and cultivated Gastrodia elata from different habitats in Guizhou province in order to provide scientific reference for cultivation of G.elata.METHODS: Samples were extracted from G.elata with microwave.RP-HPLC method was used to determine the content of gastrodine in G.elata.RESULTS: The content of gastrodine in wild G.elata was higher than that in cultivated G.elata.The contents of gastrodine in wild G.elata were different from one another while the contents of gastrodine in cultivated G.elata hadn’t obvious differences.CONCLUSION: The quality of wild G.elata is superior to that of cultivated G.elata.The study provide scientific basis for the cultivation of G.elata.

Objective To establish an in vitro skin sensitization test, human cell line activation test (h-CLAT),based on THP-1 cell line (a human acute monocytic leukemia cell line),and to assess the sensitizing potency of plant raw materials of chemical and cosmetic products by this in vitro skin sensitization test.Method THP-1 cells were cultured in vitro and exposed to 11 reference skin sensitization chemicals and 9 samples,by monitoring the cell viability, cell surface marker CD54 /CD86 and relative fluorescence intensity of cells surface after the cells was exposures to the substances, and to discover whether there is a positive reaction. At the same time,Buehler test was used to validate the results of samples tested by h-CLAT.Results 11 reference chemicals were distinguished correctly by h-CLAT.Among the 9 samples tested,7 samples were recognized as negative sensitizer and 2 plant extracted substances were identified as suspicious skin sensitizer. The qualitative classification of the 9 samples by h-CLAT test was consistent with the results obtained by animal test. Conclusions The h-CLAT-in vitro test can be used to replace some animal tests for the prediction of soluble skin sensitizing substances.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of transposition of the pedicled anterolateral femoral periosteal flap. Methods The blood supply of anterolateral femoral periosteum were dissected on 38 adult cadaveric lower limber specimens injected with red dye. The origins, distributions and anastomosis of periosteal breanches were observed and measured. Based on these anatomic investigations, the transposition of pedicled anterolateral femoral periosteal flap was designed to repair the bone nonunion and lesion of femur. Results Twenty-two cases were treated in the satisfactory results, and followed-up from 1 to 5 years. The size of the periosteal flap ranged from 8cm?4cm to 10cm?5cm. Conclusions The periosteal flap could be operated so conveniently and safely as to be spread easily, treatment of lesion and incision of periosteal flap can be finished in the same operative approach. The periosteal flap have been proved to be powerfully clinical value.

Objective To improve quota-sampling precision and reproducibility of the impedance blood rheometer. Methods Quota-sampling control circuit and the sampling needle's structure were improved for the early MVIS blood rheometer. The parameters of sampling were analyzed. Results After the improvement, the sampling errors were reduced obviously (less than ?3%). The quota-sampling handling was more accurater. Conclusion The precision and reproducibility of the blood rheometer are ensured.

ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical characteristics and therapeutic strategy of acute epidural hematoma(EDH) with mixed density on CT.MethodsThe clinical data of 45 patients with acute EDH with mixed density on the first CT after trauma were analyzed retrospectively.Acute EDH form trauma with mixed density on CT images were compared with those which had homogenesis density on CT images at the same time.ResultsThe opportunity of increasing size of hematoma and the mortality was significantly higher in mixed density hematoma( 82.1%,16.2% )than that of homogenesis density( 17.7%,2.3% ) ( all P < 0.01 ).ConclusionEDH with mixed density was a hyperacute EDH.The operation for acute EDH from trauma with mixed density on CT image should be prompt.

Objective To investigate the effect of myeloid differentiation factor88 (MyD88)on the experimental autoimmune myocarditis (EAM) in Balb/c mice.MethodsTotally 90 Balb/c mice were randomly divided into three groups:MyD88 ( n =30),myocarditis ( n =30),and control ( n =30 )groups. An injection of MyD88 high expression adenovirus was carried out through vena caudalis at day 3.The mice of myocarditis group received porcine cardiac myosin at the same time and position. The mice of control group received PBS only.Serum and myocardium samples were gained at day 21.The inflammatory infiltration and the serum levels of cTnI,IgG,and IgM were examined. Results 21 days later, the inflammatory infiltration score of the myocarditis group was higher than the control group (2.39 ± 1.23 vs 0.68 ±0.65,P <0.05).The MyD88 group was significantly higher than the other 2 groups ( F =94.194,P <0.01 ),the myocarditis group ( 3.56 ± 1.34 vs 2.39 ± 1.23,P < 0.05 ),and the control group ( 3.56 ±1.34 vs 0.68 ±0.65,P <0.01).The serum levels of cTnI,IgG,and IgM of the MyD88 group were significantly higher than the myocarditis group and the control group( P <0.01,P <0.05).Conclusions MyD88 participates in the pathogenesis of experimental autoimmune myocarditis in mice.
