Objective The color of the syphilis quality control material adopted by most detection institutes was the same with the detected serum sample and they were all colorless, transparent or light yellow. There were cases of wrong adding, missing adding or insufficient adding due to the color of quality control materials which was hard to distinguish with naked eyes.To avoid this phenomenon,a new method was established for the distinction of quality control materials. Methods A new method of syphilis quality control materials that had been improved three concentrations control materials:0.125,0.250 and 0.500 NCU/mL.The syphilis diagnostic kit that was created by Shanghai Kehua and Xiamen Yingke was adopted to conduct detection and compare results. Results The difference between stained quality control material and unstained quality control materials had no statistical significance (P>0.05).Two different reagents were used to detect quality control materials of different concentration for 20 times and the CV were 11.7 %-13.4% and 9.3 %-12.9 % respectively. Two different reagents were used to detect quality control materials of different concentration for 30 days and the CV range were 10.1 %-13.4 % and 8.08 %-12.8 %.Conclusion Citric yellow staining does not influence the properties of syphilis control materials and it can be used stably for a long time.It is suitable for clinical lab application and promotion.

AIM: To explore the effect of lacrimal duct laser with lacrimal drainage tubes and stents implantation for complexity dacryagogatresia.
METHODS: There were 65 patients ( 82 eyes ) with compound tears nasolacrimal duct obstruction who received lacrimal drainage tubes and stents implantation after laser. The lacrimal duct stents were removed through nasal cavity after 1mo. Lacrimal drainage tubes were removed after 3-6mo. Follow-up periods were 6mo to 1a.
RESULTS: In the 65 patients (82 eyes), 71 eyes were cured, 5 eyes improved, the efficient rate was 93%; there were 6 eyes (7%) with epiphora.
CONCLUSION: Lacrimal duct laser with lacrimal drainage tubes and stents implantation was efficient for complexity dacryagogatresia.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Naoxueshu oral liquid on cerebral hemorrhage caused by hypertension. Methods140 patients with cerebral hemorrhage were randomly dividied into two groups with a 1∶1 ratio, treatment group and control group. Patients in treatment group received Naoxueshu oral liquid 30 ml daily, while that in control received Naoxuekang oral liquid 30 ml daily. The changes of score on Chinese medical integration,National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke scale and the volume of intracranial hemorrhage were evaluated before and a month after treatment.ResultsThe decrease of NIH score of patients in treatment group was (12.73±3.94),but(4.72±3.01) with the control's (t=13.5327,P<0.001). The decrease of the volume of intracranial hemorrhage of patients in treatment group was (13.28±4.17) ml,but (8.37±7.24) ml with the control's(t=4.9228,P<0.001). ConclusionComparing with Naoxuekang,Naoxueshu can accelerate absorption of hematome and ameliorate the recovery of neurological disability more efficiently.

In order to investigate the comprehensive quality differences of the seeds harvested in different growing time, and offer theoretical guide for the optimization of seeds' production technology, we analyzed the apparent size, 1 000-grain weight, water absorbency, germination indexes, postharvest embryo rate change, relatively contents of coumarins and the yield of single plant of its seeds of different harvesting time, and compared their comprehensive quality by Topsis analysis. The results showed that there existed obvious differences in yield and quality between seeds of 3 harvesting times. While the harvesting time postponed, the yield of single plant raised, and the shrunken seeds rate decreased, the quality of seedlings increased, while the contents of coumarins showed a steady increase, and the germination rate decreased. The comprehensive quality of the seeds harvested in the black ripe time rank the first place, followed by the brown ripe time and the yellow ripe time. As the harvesting time delays, the seeds' comprehensive quality increases, therefore, we could put off the seeds' harvesting time properly for the high efficient seed production.

ObjectiveTo explore the association between angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) gene insertion/deletion(I/D) polymorphism and cerebral infarction among Chinese people. MethodsThe ACE gene polymorphism was determined by PCR-RFLP in 242 patients with cerebral infarction and 283 controls. Multiple logistic regression was performed to explore the risk factors for cerebral infarction. ResultsAfter adjusting age, gender, alcohol drinking, smoking, education, history of diabetes mellitus and the primary hypertension, there was no significant association between ACE I/D polymorphism and cerebral infarction, either was hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The primary hypertension significanlly increased risk of cerebral infarction (OR=7.28,P =0.000). Both ACE ID/DD genotype and the primary hypertension showed a significant gene-environment interaction(r=1.62,OR=7.29), something as super multiplicative type 2 interaction. ConclusionAlthough ACE gene polymorphism is not risk factors of cerebral infarction, but ID/DD genotype had shown significant gene-environment interaction with primary hypertension in occurrence of cerebral infarcion.

Objective To identify the polyreactivity of a monoclonal natural anti-keratin autoantibody 3B4 and to analyze its possible molecular me chanism. Methods enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)and immunohistoche mistry were applied to test the binding reactivity of 3B4 against different anti gens and tissues. The variable region genes and their amino acid composition wer e sequenced. Results 3B4 could reacted with a range of antigens and tissues,i n addition to keratin and skin. The variable region genes of its light chain and heavy chain showed high homology with germline genes VK1 am4 and VH1 J558.42.H CDR3 region, which mainly composed of short side chain amino acids(from 294 to 324 nucleotides around the heavy chain),was the only motif that differs from ot her highly homologous immunoglobulin genes. Conclusions The monoclonal natural anti-keratin autoantibody 3B4,with its variable region genes highly homologo us to germline genes,is highly polyreactive. The flexibility of HCDR3 may contr ibute to the polyreactivity.

Objective To observe the effect of bilateral movement training on upper extremities dysfunction in stroke patients in convalescent phase. Methods 52 patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into treatment group (n=26) and control group (n=26). The treatment group accepted bilateral upper extremities movement training, and the control group accepted routine neurodevelopment training mainly with affected upper extremities, for 6 weeks. They were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment upper-extremity section (FMA-UE) and modified Barthel Index (MBI) before and after treatment. Results The FMA-UE and MBI scores improved in both groups after treatment (P<0.01), and improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion Bilateral movement training may improve upper extremity function and activities of daily living more effectively for stroke patients in convalescent phase.

Hypoxia inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) is a heterodimeric transcription factor that plays an important role in oxygen homeostasis. In response to low level of oxygen, subunit HIF-1alpha expression is upregulated and transactivates its target genes essential for energy metabolism, erythropoiesis and vascular development. HIF-1alpha is thought to be able to protect hypoxic cells from apoptosis or necrosis under ischemic and anoxic conditions, the major trauma factors that affect the recovery of brain and spinal cord injury. Here we report the construction of recombinant adenovirus vector overexpressing HIF-1alpha intended for gene therapy against desired neuronal injuries. The recombinant vector could be packaged and yielded significantly high viral titers at 2 x 10(13) CFU in HEK293T cells and good expression levels of HIF-1alpha when superinfected in Hela cells.
