Objective To study the effect of baicalin on the content of glutamate acid (Glu), aspartic acid (Asp), ?-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain of rat with experimental intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods The intracerebral hemorrhage rat model was induced by collagen enzyme + heparin sodium. The rats were randomly divided into sham group, model group and high, middle, low dose group of baicalin. Rats were treated with the physiological saline and different concentration of baicalin respectively. The brain of each group was taken out three days later and the brain homogenate was prepared. The content of Glu, Asp and GABA was measured with the high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The effects of reaction temperature, pH, substrate and enzyme concentration, deacetylation degree of chitosan on the hydrolytic velocity of chitosan by Lysozyme were investigated. The results showed that the specificity of catalyst obey the dynamics of michae-lis-Menten. The optimum temperature and pH were 50℃ and 6. 0 respectively, the reaction velocity was reduced while the deacetylation degree of chitosan was raised. The mean molecular weight of low molecular chitosan has been determined by high performance liquid chro-matography method, the mean molecular weight was 8328.

Objective:To assess the vision-related quality of life(VRQoL) of the patients with simple vitreous hemorrhage after vitrectomy and analyze its influencing factors.Methods:A scale of life quality for patients with visual impairment(AQoL-DVI) were administered to 96 patients before and 6 months following vitrectomy.Scale scores were compared with vison preoperatively and postoperatively.Results:The lowest scores were at the item of "social life" and "spiritual and psychological status" before the surgery.The scores of the questionnaires increased significantly after vitrectomy.The change of visual acuity after surgery was a chief independent factor of the changes of questionnaire scores due to vitrectomy.Conclusion:The quality of life of patients with simple vitreous hemorrhage decreases sharply.VRQoL improves obviously after vitrectomy.

Professional postgraduates in geriatric medicine are one of the most important re-courses of geriatric specialists. However, training model for geriatric postgraduates is still unclear in China. In general, geriatric medicine has no independent training plan, and is included in internal medicine training. Such model cannot represent the feature of geriatric medicine. The present paper aimed to discuss the ability construction for geriatric postgraduates based on the geriatric medicine specialist training experience both at home and abroad, including diagnosis and treatment of multi-system diseases, ability of geriatric assessment, management of geriatric syndromes, consultation for geriatric rehabilitation and ability for continuity health service in order to cultivate the compound tal-ents suitable for the aging society requirement for geriatric medicine in China.

BACKGROUND:Stem cels from the apical papila are a new kind of mesenchymal stem cels, and whether it can
be used in root regeneration is the key to the present study. OBJECTIVE:To culture rat stem cels from the apical papila and periodontal ligament stem celsin vitro, and to compare the biology behaviors of these two kinds of cels, thereby providing experimental basis for the application of stem cels from the apical papila in root regeneration. METHODS:The apical papila, as wel as the periodontal ligament tissues from the healthy mandibular teeth of young rats were digested and cultured. Immunophenotypes of stem cels from the apical papila and periodontal ligament stem cels were detected by immunofluorescence technique. Then, cel growth curves were determined by MTT method and mineralized nodule formation was observed by alizarin red staining. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Stem cels from the apical papila and periodontal ligament stem cels were both positive for STRO-1. Stem cels from the apical papila were positive for CD90 and weakly positive for CD146. Periodontal ligament stem cels were positive for CD146 and weakly positive for CD90. The absorbance values of stem cels from the apical papila and periodontal ligament stem cels increased with the increasing of time and became stable at 8 days. Since the 4th day, the proliferation capacity of stem cels from the apical papila was significantly stronger than that of periodontal ligament stem cels (P < 0.05). Both of stem cels are visible to have mineralized nodule formation. Compared with the periodontal ligament stem cels, stem cels from the apical papila were stained obviously deeper and had more mineralized nodules. These results show that stem cels from the apical papila have stronger proliferation capacity and mineralization ability than periodontal ligament stem cels. Objective To discuss the principle and the value of pereutanous microwave ablation for benign focal liver lesions. Methods Fourteen patients with 15 benign focal liver lesions received percutanous microwave ablation with 15G cool-tip microwave antenna. The maximum diameter of lesion was (26.2±13.6)mm (10 - 57 mm). Results Treatment sessions and total treatment time for single lesion were 1.4±0. 5 (1- 2) and (837±574)s (300- 2057 s). Follow-up range was 1- 35 months (median 6 months). The hepatic lesions were covered by coagulation necrosis region of ablation completely in all cases on contrast-enhanced at 1 month after ablation. The area of coagulation necrosis of ablation decreased on follow-up imaging in patients with more than 3 months follow-up. No complications happened in all cases. Side effects include pain (12/14) and fever (8/14) lasting I -9 days. The increase of serum transaminase decreased to normal at 1 week after ablation. Conclusions Percutanous microwave ablation has the merit of safety,minimal invasion, good ablation result and low incidence of side effect. Under the precondition of eareful choice of indication,pereutanous microwave ablation can be a selective treatment method for benign focal liver lesions.

Objective The objective of this experiment was to find out the causes and mechanisms of vocal cord granulomas,to analyze the results of different treatments and to establish an effective protocol of treatment.Methods 24 patients with vocal cord granulomas were analyzed in terms of genders,ages,occupations,etiologies,such as voicing,gastroesophageal reflux,and treatment under general anesthesia and jet-ventilation,treatments and outcomes.Results Based on different etiologies,patients were divided into 4 groups: Group I of 9 patients with pathologic phonation,Group II of 8 patients with gastroesophageal reflux,Group III of 2 patients with treatment under general anesthesia and jet-ventilation,Group IV of 5 patients with unknown causes.9 patients received operations while 8 demonstrated good prognosis and one was completely cured.The vocal cord granulomas for 11 patients disappeared,8 had reduced vocal cord granulomas,and the vocal cord granulomas for 5 patients without any treatment were gone 6 months later.Conclusion The vocal cord granulomas can be caused by many factors with gastroesophageal reflux as a main etiology.Higher recurrences were noted after surgical treatment;therefore,treatment for gastroesophageal reflux and voice therapy should be considered as major approaches.

AIM: To observe and study the influence of cardiac sympathetic nerve on QT dispersion (QTd) and the circadian variations of QTd in experimental rabbits.
