1.The effect of aerobic exercise on serum IL-4 and TNF-alpha of patients with allergic rhinitis.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2013;27(23):1321-1323
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the effect of aerobic exercise on immune factor IL-4, TNF-alpha in patients with allergic rhinitis, which provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
METHOD:
Thirty-two allergic rhinitis patients were selected and divided into a control group (14 people) and the experimental group (18 people). During the treatment, both groups receive conventional symptomatic treatment. Meanwhile, aerobic exercise therapy is applied to the experimental group for 40 - 60 minutes a day, 3 - 4 days a week. Serum IL-4, TNF-alpha and allergic rhinitis symptoms graded scoring were tested before and after 6 month therapy.
RESULT:
After six months of exercise intervention, the 11-4, and TNF-alpha levels of experimental group were significantly lower than the level of control group. The symptoms score is also significantly decreased in experimental group.
CONCLUSION
Aerobic exercise had good therapeutic effect in patients with allergic rhinitis. The mechanism may be that aerobic exercise can reduce the level of IL-4 and TNF-alpha, which can relieve infiltration and activation of inflammatory cells.

Objective:To establish the quality standard for Kechuanning granules. Methods: A TLC method was used for the qualitative study on the main ingredients, Radix stemonae, ephedra and bitter almond. An HPLC method was used to determine the con-tents of ephedrine hydrochloride, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and amygdalin. The separation of targeted compounds was performed on a Tech Mate C18-ST column (250 mm × 4. 6 mm,5 μm) . The mobile phase consisted of methanol(A) and 0. 1% phosphoric acid (B) with gradient elution at a flow rate of 1. 0 ml·min-1. The detection wavelength was 207nm and the column temperature was 35℃. Results:The spots in TLC were quite clear without any interference from negative control. The linear relationship of ephedrine hydrochloride, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and amygdalin was 1. 826-182. 600μg·ml-1( r=0. 9997),1. 848-184. 815μg·ml-1 (r=0. 9997) and 2. 981-298. 069 μg·ml-1(r=0. 9996),respectively. The average recovery was 97. 00%,97. 40% and 98. 30%(RSD=3.7%,2.5%,1.6%)(n=9),respectively. Conclusion: The method is sensitive, accurate, simple and reproducible, which can be used for the quality control of Kechuanning granules.

Background Intermittent exotropia is a type of strabismus that between latent extropia and manifest extropia. The assessment of fusional convergence/divergence is important for understanding control ability of exodeviation in children with intermittent exotropia. Objective This study was to analyze the correlations between fusional convergence/divergence and control ability of exodeviation in children with intermittent exotropia. Methods Sixty-three children with intermittent exotropia were recruited in Beijing Tongren Eye Centre from July 2013 to February 2014 under the informed consent of children and their parents.Angle of deviation was measured by wearing prism and covering method alternately. The control ability of exodeviation was evaluated and scored by the Revised Newcastle Control Score (RNCS),and fusional convergence and divergence were measured with 1 Δ-40Δ horizonal prisms and regulating targets. The correlations between the measured parameters of fusional convergence/divergence and control scores of exotropia were analyzed by Spearman rank correlation analysis. Results The mean diopter of the right and left eyes was (-1.95 ± 1.63)D and (-2.01 ± 1.73)D,respectively,and the mean deviation angle for distantly and near was (36.67 ± 15.69) Δ and (38.25 ± 14.83) Δ,respectively, without significant differences between them (diopter:t =-0.13,P>0.05;deviation angle:t =-0.57,P>0.05).Considerably negative correlations were found between the breakpoints of fusional convergence for distant or near and control scores of exodeviation (rs =-0.41,P=0.03;rs =-0.56,P<0.01).No significant correlations were found between the breakpoints of fusional divergence for distantly or near and control scores of exodeviation (rs =0.05,P =0.78;rs =0.04,P <0.75).In addtion, there was no significant correlation between fusional recovery level and control scores (both at P > 0.05).Conclusions Breakpoints of fusional convergence may be useful in grading the severity of intermittent exotropia in children, and it is probably one of the surgical indications of intermittent exotropia.

Objective To analyze the validity of Caprini venous thrombosis risk assessment model (Caprini RAM) in the tunneled cuffed dialysis catheters (TCCs) dysfunction patients with central venous thrombosis (CVT).Methods A total of 187 maintenance hemodialysis patients with TCCs dysfunction admitted to West China Hospital of Sichuan University from January 2013 to September 2016 were analyzed retrospectively.According to the chest computed tomography venography results, patients were divided into CVT group and non CVT group.Their general clinical data (age, gender, primary diseases, history of dialysis access, etc.),blood biochemical data (hemoglobin, serum albumin, blood lipid, etc.) and 40 risk factors of Caprini RAM were collected.Caprini RAM scores were computed for risk stratification of thrombosis. Two groups were compared to analyze the value of Caprini RAM in these patients by statistics. Results One hundred and twenty CVT patients and sixty-seven non CVT patients were enrolled. In CVT group the duration of dialysis, hemoglobin and hematocrit were higher than those in non CVT group (all P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in gender, age, primary diseases, duration of catheter dependence, catheter tip position, usage of urokinase (all P > 0.05).The average score of Caprini RAM in CVT group and non CVT group did not show statistical difference (6.23+ 1.81 vs 6.19+ 1.95,P=0.913).All patients were stratified into higher risk level and highest risk level according to Caprini RAM.Higher risk level patients accounted for 18.18% and highest risk level patients accounted for 81.82%.As patients with inequable Caprini RAM scores, their incidence of CVT did not differ statistically (x2=0.105,P=0.746).CVT incidence rate of higher risk level patients was 61.76%,and of highest risk level patients was 64.70%.Conclusions Caprini RAM verifies that maintenance hemodialysis patients with TCCs dysfunction have high risk of venous thrombosis, but this model fails to distinguish patients between CVT group and non CVT group. Its clinical diagnosis is relatively limited and needs to be further explored.

This study was based on live yeast cell derivative (LYCD), which was produced by live yeast cell stressed with high temperature and H 2O 2. The results showed that pretreating of low dose(37℃and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2) could increase the content of GSH and the activity of SOD and CAT. These pretreatment could induce the resistance to lethal concentration of H 2O 2. LYCD was produced by yeast treated with 37℃ and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2. And it was found that the survival of yeast treated with lethal concentration of H 2O 2 obviously increased, while LYCD was added in yeast culture. It indicated that LYCD could have resistance to oxidative condition.
