Wearing transfemoral prosthesis is the only way to complete daily physical activity for amputees. Motion pattern recognition is important for the control of prosthesis, especially in the recognizing swing phase and stance phase. In this paper, it is reported that surface electromyography (sEMG) signal is used in swing and stance phase recognition. sEMG signal of related muscles was sampled by Infiniti of a Canadian company. The sEMG signal was then filtered by weighted filtering window and analyzed by height permitted window. The starting time of stance phase and swing phase is determined through analyzing special muscles. The sEMG signal of rectus femoris was used in stance phase recognition and sEMG signal of tibialis anterior is used in swing phase recognition. In a certain tolerating range, the double windows theory, including weighted filtering window and height permitted window, can reach a high accuracy rate. Through experiments, the real walking consciousness of the people was reflected by sEMG signal of related muscles. Using related muscles to recognize swing and stance phase is reachable. The theory used in this paper is useful for analyzing sEMG signal and actual prosthesis control.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(06):-
The expression of sLea/x which correlates with conventional histopathologic parameters serves as a useful indicator for the prognosis of metastatic disease. The bindings between sLea/x and their common ligand E-selectin initiate hematogenous metastasis of cancer. Certain bioactive conformation is crucial for the interaction between sLea/x and their ligands. Thus, a new class of compounds that mimic the structures of sLea/x can potently inhibit not only their functional bindings to selectins, but also the metastasis of cancer. This review is mainly on the sLea/x molecular structure, biosynthesis, distribution, especially the relationship between sLea/x and hematogenous metastasis of cancer and the design of drugs that mimic the structures of sLea/x.

Objective To study the mechanism of serum thyroxin and insulin change after hemihepatectomy. Methods The hemihepatectomy was performed in rabbits, the fasting peripheral blood samples were drawn on the day prior to surgery, and 24 hour, 48 hour, the first week, one month after operation respectively for monitoring the serum thyroxin and insulin. Results The level of TT 3 was (1.93?0.47) nmol/L, TT 4 (53.56?8.4) nmol/L preoperatively. The levels of TT 3 and TT 4 significantly decreased at 24 hour postoperatively, and gradually rose at 48 hour and up to normal levels in the first month postoperatively. The level of insulin rapidly rose immediately after operation, and began to decrease in the first week, and returned to the preoperative level in one month after operation. Conclusions The syndrome of normal thyroid disease and the syndrome of non thyroid disease can occur after hemihepatectomy; and hyperinsulinemia also can occur after hemihepatectomy.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relation of the anogenital distance (AGD) with cryptorchidism in male newborns.
METHODSThis study included 350 male infants delivered in two community hospitals between September 2013 and September 2014. Within 24 hours after birth, a pediatric surgeon measured the AGD of the neonates and determined whether they had cryptorchidism. According to the testicular position, we divided the undescended testes into three types: upper scrotal, inguinal, and non-palpable.
RESULTSTotally 39 cases of cryptorchidism were found in the 350 newborns. The AGD of the cryptorchidism infants was significantly shorter than that of the normal neonates ([2.01 ± 0.22] vs [2.35 ± 0.19] cm, P < 0.01), and statistically significant differences remained even when preterm and low birth-weight infants were excluded ([2.32 ± 0.14] vs [2.06 ± 0.19] cm; (2.37 ± 0.17) cm vs (2.12 ± 0.12) cm, all P < 0.01). The newborns with higher-position cryptorchidism had a shorter AGD, though with no significant difference (F = 0.434, P > 0.05). No significant differences were observed in the AGD between unilateral and bilateral cryptorchidism ([1.96 ± 0.13] vs [2.02 ± 0.17] cm, P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONShorter AGD is associated with a higher incidence of cryptorchidism in male newborns. AGD could serve as a potential biomarker for disruption of androgen action during the male programming window period.

OBJECTIVETo prepare the gastric retenting and chronopharmacologic drug delivery tablets containing sinomenine hydrochloride as a model drug, evaluate the effects of the coating layers formulation and technics on drug release behavior, and to elucidate the mechanism of drug release based on obtained results.
METHODThe gastric retenting and chronopharmacologic drug delivery tablets were prepared by press-coated technics. The types of disintegrants were chosen according to the expanding rate and the lag-time. The effects of formulation and technics of coating layer on the release characteristic of the drug were investigated by dissolution testing. The mechanism of drug release was proved by erosion test.
RESULTThe tablets had typical chronopharmacologic drug delivery properties with a lag time followed by a rapid release phase. CMS-Na was selected as the disintegrant. The lag-time was prolonged with the increase of the ratio of HPMC/carrrageenan and the amount of matrix material in coating layer. The compressing pressure and preparation method of coat material had minor influence on the lag-time of the tablets. Coating layer erosion and tablet core swelling were involved in the mechanism of drug release.
CONCLUSIONThe tablets had typical chronopharmacologic drug delivery properties. A suitable lag-time can be achieved by adjusting formulation of coating layer to meet the requirement of chronotherapy.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2012;28(4):304-308
OBJECTIVETo investigate the negative regulation of microRNA-1 (miR-1) on L-type calcium channel beta2 subunit (Cavbeta 2) during cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and its mechanism.
METHODSCardiomyocyte hypertrophy was induced by isoproterenol (ISO). The cell surface area was measured by image analysis system (HJ2000). The targets of miR-1 were predicted by online database microCosm. The 3' untranslated region sequence of Cavbeta 2 was cloned into luciferase reporter vector and then transiently transfected into HEK293 cells. The luciferase activities of samples were measured to verify the expression of luciferase reporter vector. The expression of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), beta-myosin heavy chain (beta-MHC), miR-1 and the Cavbeta 2 mRNA were detected by qRT-PCR. The protein expression of Cavbeta 2 was detected by Western blot. The level of miR-1 was up-regulated by miR-1 mimic transfection and the expression level of Cavbeta 2 was down-regulated by RNAi, then effects of which on cardiomyocyte hypertrophy were investigated.
RESULTS(1) The expression of miR-1 was significantly reduced in cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. Upregulating the miR-1 level could suppress the increase of cell surface area, the expression of ANP and beta-MHC mRNA (P < 0.05). (2) Cavbeta 2 was the one of potential targets of miR-1 by prediction using online database microCosm. The luciferase activities of HEK293 cells with the plasmid containing miR-1 and wide type Cavbeta 3' UTR sequence was significantly decreased when compared with that of control group (P < 0.01). Up-regulation of the miR-1 level could suppress the protein expression of Cavbeta 2. (3) The expression of Cavbeta 2 was significantly increased in cardiomyocyte hypertrophy induced by ISO. Downregulation of Cavbeta by RNAi could markedly inhibit the increase of cell surface area, the expression of ANP and beta-MHC mRNA.
CONCLUSIONCavbeta2 is one of potential targets of miR-1 by bioinformatics prediction. The experiment data confirms that Cavbeta2 is truly the target of miR-1. MiR-1 can negatively regulate the expression of Cavbeta 2, resulting in the decrease of intracellular Ca2+ content and the attenuation of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy.
