Objective To seek the factors affecting distortion product otoac oustic emisson in newborn hearing screening. Methods All newborns in our hospital received hearing sc reening by DPOAE and wer e investigated for the factors such as: birth history, pregnancy history, family history, the social position of the family. All data were analysed by SPSS. Results 82.8%(3 242/3 944) newborns passed the hearing sc reening. Pass rates were h igher in right ears, female baby, monocyesis, normal or high birth weight and fo rceps delivery. The Results of the first hearing screening were correlated with birth weight,sex and fetus number by logistic regression. Conclusion The factors suc h as sex, ways of labor, fetus number, fetus age, and birth weight can affect t he results of first hearing screening significantly.

Objective To investigate the role of monoclonal antibody of insulin-like growth factor Ⅰ receptor (IGF-ⅠR) in the proliferation and apoptosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma cell line CGTH W-3, and the effect of IGF-ⅠR monoclonal antibody on papillary thyroid carcinoma cells and normal follicular cells in primary culture. Methods MTT and TUNEL method were used to determine the proliferation and apoptosis of cells respectively after IGF-ⅠR monoclonal antibody intervention. Results The inhibitory effect on cell proliferation was enhanced with the increasing IGF-ⅠR monoclonal antibody concentration and duration of action. IGF-ⅠR monoclonal antibody induced apoptosis of CGTH W-3 cells remarkably even in the concentration of 50 nmol/L. Primary papillary thyroid carcinoma cells and normal follicular cells were inhibited by 100 nmol/L IGF-ⅠR monoclonal antibody, and the degree of inhibition was significantly higher in carcinoma cells than that in normal follicular cells (P

Aim To investigate the protective effects of polysaccharides from the rhizomorph of Armillaria mella(AMP-1) on alloxan injured INS-1 cells.Methods Graded concentrations of AMP-1(2,10,50,100,500,1 000 mg?L-1) were added into the culture medium of alloxan injured INS-1 cells.The survival rate was measured by MTT assay.The amount of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in different concentrations of AMP-1 was determined by radioimmunoassay(RIA).SOD and NOS activity,NO,MDA and GSH production were assayed colorimetrically.Results AMP-1 could reduce oxidative injuries induced by alloxan in INS-1 cells.The survival rate of cells treated with AMP-1 increased significantly.In the presence of 5.6 mmol?L-1 or 16.7 mmol?L-1 glucose,AMP-1(50,100,500,1 000 mg?L-1)increased glucose-induced insulin secretion in INS-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner.NOS levels and the production of NO and MDA decreased significantly by AMP-1,while SOD levels and the production of GSH increased.Conclusions AMP-1 promoted glucose-induced insulin secretion in INS-1 cells by increasing the abilities of scavenging the free radicals induced by alloxan.

Aim To investigate the effects of co-administration of Astragalus Saponin Ⅰ(ASI)and bendazac lysine(BDL)on hypertrophy of cultured rat mesangial cells and its mechanism.Methods The levels of collagen Ⅳ and laminin,the percentages of cells in S phase,the relative quantity of transforming growth factor ?1(TGF-?1) mRNA and indexes of oxidative status were assayed after the cells were incubated in different agents for 36 h.Results The percentage of S phase cells in high glucose group(HG) was greatly decreased while those of vitamin E group(VE) and co-administration groups were increased.The relative quantity of TGF-?1 mRNA and the collagen Ⅳ level in co-administration groups were significantly decreased,and the levels of total anti-oxidative capability(T-AOC),activity of catalase(CAT),GSH-PX,and SOD were greatly increased.Furthermore,the significant differences were found between low ASI(AL)group,low BDL(BL) group and co-administration of low ASI and low BDL(AL+BL) group for TGF-?1 mRNA,T-AOC and GSH-PX;the high ASI group(AH),high BDL group(BH) and co-administration of high ASI and high BDL group(AH+BH) for TGF-?1 mRNA and collagen Ⅳ,respectively. Conclusion Co-administration of ASI and BDL has synergetic effects on regulating TGF-?1,collagen Ⅳ,and radical oxidative stress,therefore,is beneficial to protecting rat mesangial cells against hypertrophy.

Objective To investigate the effects of Omaha system which is applied to seniors with chronic disease in medical nursing home.Methods 48 seniors with chronic diseases in medical nursing home were chosen through convenience sampling methods,the Omaha system was applied to assess nursing problem,carry out nursing intervention,score outcome before and after the intervention,SPSS13.0 was used to enter data for statistical analysis.Results Seniors with chronic disease in medical nursing home had 29 nursing problems,accounting for 69.05％,4 intervention categories was used,69 of targets selected,accounting for 90.79％,after the intervention,KBS score was (3.85 ±0.89),(3.92±0.83),(4.05 ±0.77),higher than (3.07±0.83),(3.16±0.75),(3.61±0.77) before the intervention,and the difference was statistically significant.Conclusions The application of Omaha system can improve the level of cognition and behavior and state of seniors with chronic disease in medical nursing home.

Objective: To investigate the anticancer action of taurine and its potential mechanisms. Methods: 101 weanling female SD rats were randomly divided into four groups. They were:(1)control group (CL):fed a basic diet;(2)high fat group(HF):fed a high fat diet (10% lard);(3)taurine group (Tau):fed a taurine diet (5% taurine);(4)taurine and high fat group(TH):fed a mixed diet (5%taurine and 10% lard). 10mg DMBA were given to each rat by gavage at age of 6 weeks. Then the rats were fed assigned diet for 26 weeks. By 5 weeks after DMBA administration the rats were palpated once weekly and the time, size, location of each tumor were recorded. The examinations made at the end of experiment were listed below: CI, LTT, serum antibody, SOD, MDA, GSH Px, TC, TG, LDL C. Objective To understand the characteristics of molecular epidemiology of enterovirus 71(EV71) in children with hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Shanghai area during the first half year of 2009. Methods Seventy-three throat swabs and 38 stool samples were collected from 95 hospitalized children with clinical diagnosis of HFMD in Children's Hospital of Fudan University during April to May 2009. TaqMan real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and nest RT-PCR were used to detect EV71 VP1, followed by gene sequencing analysis. Results Six of the 73 throat swabs were EV71 positive with the detection rate of 8.2%. In the 38 stool samples, 24 were EV71 positive with the detection rate of 63.2%. Twenty-eight nested RT-PCR positive samples were sequenced and the genetic analysis showed that 27 were C4 subtype,which were absolute dominant strain and the other one was C2 subtype. The isolated strain from a fatal case was C4 subtype and there was no obvious mutation found in VP1 region. Conclusions EV71 is an important pathogen in HFMD children in Shanghai area during April to May 2009. C4 subtype strains are absolutely dominant, and accompanied by epidemic strains of subtype C2.

To analyze the composition regularity of Carthami Flos-containing prescriptions of the Drug Standards of Ministry of Health of People's Republic of China-Traditional Chinese Medicine Preparations (the ministerial standards for Traditional Chinese Medicine) based on the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance support system (TCMISS, RZDZ No. 0389952). Efforts were made to identify 331 prescriptions containing Carthami Flos and summarize 16 attending functions and 10 commonly used drug combinations. Three commonly used drug combinations were selected for an in-depth analysis on Carthami Flos's combined administration regularity. Based on Carthami Flos's attending functions, its effects in paralysis, traumatic injuries and dysmenorrheal were compared to analyze Carthami Flos's core drug combinations for treating different diseases. The regularity of clinical administration and the characteristics of commonly used drug combinations were summarized to provide reference for Carthami Flos's clinical application and new ideas for new drug R&D. Carthami Flos prescriptions was mainly used to treat blood stasis and pain and mostly combined with drugs that could activate blood, promote the circulation of qi and dispel pathogenic wind to treat Qi-stagnation and blood stasis caused by various pathogenic factors such as wind, cold and dampness.
