Apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3) is a multifunctional protein. Its concentration is positively correlated with triglyceride (TG) levels and is an independent risk factor for coronary heart disease (CAD) prediction and development.Recent studies showed that APOC3 could not only regulate triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRL) metabolism, but also regulated endothelial function, that is,it could induce endothelial dysfunction and disorders of lipid metabolism.Gradually,APOC3 induces atherosclerosis (AS),increases the risk of the occurrence of CAD and other related diseases.APOC3 polymorphisms are also closely related to related diseases.

?AlM:To observe the eye complications in the cases of acute chlorine gas poisoning.
?METHODS:A retrospective review of 121 cases of acute chlorine gas poising with eye irritation, dry eye and other eye complications in Linyi People’s Hospital from February 2009 to February 2013 was performed.
?RESULTS: Among 121 patients, 117 cases ( about 96. 7%) had complications of eye irritation and conjunctival and corneal epithelial damage, and the ocular surface damage was aggravated with the increasing level of chlorine gas poisoning. After 3, 6mo being discharged, 32 and 7 patients respectively occurred dry eye among 115 patients followed up. One mild chlorine poisoning patient, during the hormonotherapy of pulmonary complication, complicated with bullous retinal detachment, of which symptoms and physical signs had been improved after stopping hormonotherapy and adding drugs facilitating fluid absorption. One severe chlorine poisoning patient with loss of consciousness during the treatment, had corneal ulcer and after ulcer being healed with drug and conjunctival flap covering surgery, was left permanent leukoma cornea.
?CONCLUSlON: Acute chlorine poisoning can cause corneal and conjunctival epithelial damage and dry eye. Ocular complications like bullous retinal detachment associated with hormone application should be paid more attention to in the hormonotherapy. For some patients with severe poisoning, the therapy of corneal and conjunctival epitheliums should be taken seriously in case of irreparable damage in rescuing patient’s life.

Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2010;45(2):128-131
Objective To study the association between endometrioid uterine carcinomas and metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 123 patients who were admitted in Department of Gynecology Oncology, Zhejiang Cancer Hospital (study group) and 90 healthy women (control group) with matching age from Jan. 2005 to Mar. 2009. The general conditions[including age, whether menopausal, body mass index (BMI)];the risk factors for MS [including waist circumference, fasting plasma glucose, triglycerides(TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and systolic and diastolic blood pressure]were analyzed. The clinical stage, histological type, and pathology differentiated degree of study group with or without MS were also analyzed by univariate analysis and Cox proportional hazards models. Results (1) The univariate survival analysis shown that there were no significant difference with age in two groups[(54.3±0.6) vs. (54.2±0.9) years;P>0.05], while the rate of menopausal, BMI(≥25 kg/m~2), the cases coupled with MS, the size of waist circumference (> 80 cm), the level of fasting plasma glucose (≥5.6 mmol/L),TG(> 1.7 mmol/L)and abnormal systolic and diastolic blood pressure in study group were higher than those in control group (67.5% vs. 48. 9%, 45.5% vs. 23.3%, 43.9% vs.18.9%, 50.4% vs. 27.8%, 53.7% vs. 21.1%, 40.7% vs. 21.1% and 40.7% vs. 25.6%,respectively, all P <0.05). The percentage of HDL(< 1.30 mmol/L) was higher in study group than that in control granp(63. 4% vs. 32. 2%, P <0.05). (2) There were not significant difference for the clinical stage, pathological type, grades between patients with or without MS in study group (P > 0.05). (3) The Logistic multivariate survival analysis shown that central obesity, higher TG, lower HDL and abnormal plasma glucose were independent risk factors for endometrioid uterine carcinomas coupled with MS (P< 0.05). Conclusion Metabolic syndrome is marginally associated with an increased risk of endometrioid uterine carcinomas, which may be the new point to screen, prevention and treatment endometrioid uterine carcinomas.

Bel1, a transactivator of prototype foamy virus (PFV), plays pivotal roles in the replication of PFV. Previous studies have shown that Bel1 bears a nuclear localization signal (NLS), but its amino acid sequence remains unclear and the corresponding importins have not been identified. In this report, we inserted various fragments of Bel1 into an EGFP-GST fusion protein and investigated their subcellular localization by fluorescence microscopy. We found that the 215PRQKRPR221 fragment could direct nuclear localization, which accords with the consensus sequence K(K/R)X(K/R) of monopartite NLS. Point mutation experiments revealed that K218, R219, and R221 are essential for the nuclear localization of Bel1. The results of the GST-pulldown showed that the Bel1 fragment with residues 215-223, which bears the NLS, interacts with KPNA1, KPNA6, and KPNA7. This result suggests that KPNA1, KPNA6, and KPNA7 maybe involved in Bel1 nuclear translocation.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2009;34(4):375-378
OBJECTIVETo study the effects of inoculum, various media, pH value of medium and illumination conditions on the growth of Panax quinquefolium suspension cells and the synthesis of ginsenosides Re, Rb1 and polysaccharides.
METHODThe suspension cells were obtained through tissue culture by manipulation of inoculum, various media, pH value, and illumination conditions. The contents of ginsenosides Re and Rb1 were determined by HPLC, while the contents of polysaccharide were determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry.
RESULTThe growth rate of suspension cells was greatly increased when inoculum amount was 25 g x L(-1). The effect of media MS, SH and B5 on suspension cells was observed. MS medium was favorable for cells growth, while B5 medium was favorable for the synthesis of ginsenosides and polysaccharides. The polysaccharide content in three media were higher than that of the cultivations. The pH value showed little influence on the cells growth, medium pH 6.0 enhanced the synthesis of Re and polysaccharides. Illumination could significantly enhance secondary metabolite biosynthesis of suspension cells and promoted slightly in polysaccharide synthesis.
CONCLUSIONThe inoculum, various media, pH value of medium and illumination conditions have significant influences on suspension cells growth of P. quinquefolium, secondary metabolite and polysaccharides synthesis.

Objective To investigate the boosting efficiency of a subunit vaccine consisting of the fusion protein Ag85B-Mpt64190-198-Mth8.4 (AMM) , dimethyl-dioctyldecyl ammonium bromide (DDA) and BCG polysaceharide nucleic acid (BCG-PSN) on the primed inoculation with BCG. Methods The AMM subunit vaccine was composed of fusion protein AMM, adjuvant DDA and BCG-PSN. The first mouse experi-mental group was immunized with BCG first, then boosted with the AMM subanit vaccine in the 10th week. The second experimental group was boosted with the AMM subunit vaccine in the 8th week and the 10th week respectively with a two weeks interval after the primed with BCG. Two control groups were treated re-spectively with physiological saline alone and BCG alone. After the primed inoculation, ELISPOT and ELISA were used for the detection of the cell-mediated and humoral immune response in week 14 and week 22 re-spectively. Furthermore, the immunized mice were challenged with live BCG to mimic tuberculosis infection in the 22nd week after the primed inoculation. Subsequently the T cell typing and humoral response were de-tected by flow cytometry and ELISA, respectively. Results ( 1 ) The level of secreting IFN-γ: 14 weeks af-ter the primed inoculation, with the stimulation of the specific antigen-Ag85B, the number of cells secreting IFN-γ in the second experimental group (135±14) was more than BCG alone immunized group (19±16), t = 10. 98, P < 0.01. In the 22nd week, the number of cells secreting IFN-γ in the second experimental group (208±11) was still more than BCG alone group (57±18), t =6.43, P <0.01. (2) The level of humoral immune response: the IgG1 antibody titer in the second experimental group was obviously higher than that in the first experimental group. However, the ratio of IgG2a to IgG1, as the index reflecting the Thl-type immune response, in the experimental group 2 was lower than that in the experimental group 1. (3) The contents of CD4+ CD25+ T cells after challenged with live BCG strain: the first and the second ex-perimental groups were both higher than the BCG alone group (t1 = 3.08, t2 = 3.16, P < 0.05 ). Conclu-sion Boosting the BCG-pfimed mice with tuberculosis AMM subunit vaccine twice can induce higher level of cell-mediated and humoral immune response than BCG alone, which could activate the regulative immune response at the same time.
