Retrovirus (RV), a major pathogen in acute gastroenteritis in children that may lead to severe disease and heavy burdens on national economy. There is no speciifc drug treatment for the gastroenteritis caused by RV, and vaccine has been identiifed as the most effective intervention to control the associated disease burden. The RV vaccine showed differential effects on different RV infection. In China, epidemiology of RV is more complex hence demands more epidemiologic studies. In this article, we will review the epidemiology of RV in China and further discuss the importance of generalized RV vaccine.

Activin is a growth factor belong to the transforming growth factor-? superfamily.Recently,experimental studies have shown that activin and activin A expressed higher in various brain injury models and activin have beneficial roles to neuronal protection.The high correlation of activin and activin A with clinical and biochemical signs of brain injury lead us to suggest that activin and activin A are new possible indicators to predict and treat brain injury.

Objective To observe and analyze the correlation between the DNA methyltransferase-3B (DNMT3B) gene single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) rs 1569686 and the susceptibility to colorectal cancer (CRC) in Tianjin Han population.Methods A case-control study was performed.89 CRC patients and 94 normal controls were examined,and Sequenom MassArray system was applied to detect the genotype of rs1569686 in DNMT3B gene polymorphisms.The association results were analyzed of the SNP and CRC.Results The frequencies of genotypes TT,GT and GG at SNP rs1569686 were 74.2％,24.7％ and 1.1％ in CRC patients respectively,which there were no significant differences from that in controls(73.4％,23.4％ and 3.2％; P＞0.05).Conclusion It suggests that the SNP rs1569686 of DNMT3B gene may not be related to susceptibility of CRC in Tianjin Han population.

OBJECTIVETo observe the intestinal movement of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 or vanilloid receptor 1 (TRPV1) knockout mice after stimulated by electroacupuncture (EA), and to primarily explore the roles of TRPV1 receptor in the jejunal motility regulated by acupuncture.

METHODSNormal wild-type CL57BL/6 and TRPV1 gene knockout mice were recruited in two groups, the B6 group and the TRPV1 group, 15 in each group. The thermal threshold and the mechanical pain threshold were respectively detected using JL-F digital photo thermal analyzer instrument and ALMEMO2450 machine. The difference between the two thresholds were compared. Meanwhile, a self-made pressure head was placed in the jejunum. The internal pressure was monitored. When the pressure was stable, 2 mA 2/15 Hz EA at Quchi (LI11), Tianshu (ST25), Shangjuxu (ST37), and Dachangshu (BL25) to observe the changes of intestinal pressure value between before and after EA. The curve of internal pressures was recorded.

RESULTS(1) The stimulation of light/heat and mechanical stimulation were obviously slowed in the TRPV1 group than in the B6 group (P < 0.01). (2) In the intestinal pressure observation experiment, the bowel movement was not obviously seen in the two groups when acupunctured at Quchi (LI11) and Shangjuxu (ST37) (P > 0.05). (3) Acupuncture at Tianshu (ST25) and Dachangshu (BL25) of TRPV1 knockout mice could lead to intestinal movement (P < 0.05), mainly inhibited bowel movement. The changing degree was equivalent to that of B6 mice.

CONCLUSIONSUnder the physiological condition, TRPV1 might be mediated by thermal and mechanical stimulation. But TRPV1 mediated acupuncture effect was quite complex, indicating TRPV1 mice might be one of intestinal movement mediating factors.

Objective To approach the capacity of erythrocyte regulating IL-8 in patients with primary hepatocarcinoma (PHC) by a new experimental system of hemaimmune. Methods 0.2ml suspension of cancer cells (S180: 5?10~6/ml) or NS were added into 0.2ml anticoagulant suspension of whole blood cells or leukocytes and 0.3ml plasma, then incubated for 1 h at 37℃. The content of IL-8 was determined by ELISA. Results In the patients with PHC, the IL-8 levels (pg/ml) in experimental and control groups of whole blood cells, and in experimental and control groups of leukocytes were 376.35?243.96, 353.64?271.92, 461.27?277.11 and 424.97?278.93, respectively; while in the normal human, they were 11.36?6.93, 4.98?4.35, 29.41?30.66 and 20.77?24.20, respectively. In the patients with PHC, the activation rates of cancer cells in the experimental groups of both whole blood cell and leukocyte were 0.22?0.24 and 0.25?0.53, respectively; while in normal human, they were 2.49?2.33 and 0.75?0.21, respectively. In the patients with PHC, the IL-8 adsorption rate of erythrocyte in both experimental and control groups of whole blood cell were 0.22?0.18 and 0.17?0.33, respectively; while in normal human, they were 1.18?2.29 and 0.86?0.49, respectively. Objective To study the protective effect of sodium ferulate (SF) on CPB-induced lung ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) and discuss its possible mechanism. Methods 40 patients undergoing CPB were randomly divided into contral group(CCG, n=20 ) and SF group(SFG, n=20). In SFG, SF was injected (0.2 g in NS 150 ml) intravenously Bid for one week preoperatively. In CCG, SF was replaced by same volume of NS. The changes of TNF-?、IL-6、IL-8、SOD level in the CCG and SFG would be examined before operation, at 15min、30 min after aortic cross clamp(ACC) and 1 hour after operation. By the time of before ACC、15 min and 30 min after ACC was opened, blood samples were taken from the right and left atrium to examine the amount of neutrophils. Lung tissues were cut for pathological studies in 5 patients in each group randomly.
