China Pharmacy 2001;0(09):-
OBJECTIVE:To compare the five kinds of Sini powder prepared in accordance with the standards for antiquity decoction, Japanese standard decoction, traditional recipe, hospital medicine decocting or traditional Chinese medicine granules so as to provide theoretic bases for the experimental study of the decoction and the standardization of its clinical practice. METHODS: HPLC was applied with the comprehensive scores on the contents and the extractum yield of peoniflorin, naringin, ammonium glycyrrhizinate salt and saikoside a as index. RESULTS: The Sini powder decoction prepared in accordance with the traditional recipe showed the highest comprehensive scores. CONCLUSION: The traditional recipe decoction method was established as the preparation technology for the standard Sini powder decoction.

International Journal of Surgery 2009;36(3):194-196
To discuss pathological factors which affection the prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer. We ex plored and compared the main pathological factors affecting the prognosis of esophageal cancer patients by analyzing their clinical data:the extent of tumor invasion, lymph nodes shift, distant organ metastasis,as well as stages of tumor. And the prognosis associated with the following independent factors:tumor histological type and degree of dif ferentiation tumor mierometastases, vascular tumor thrombus formation, and stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes. The authors think the pathological stage of esophageal cancer patients need to be improved.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 2002;0(09):-
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of mirtazapine in patients with anorexia nervosa. Methods: A randomized, controlled study was undertaken in 42 patients with anorexia nervosa.Subjects were treated with mir- tazapine or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor(SSRIs)for 12 weeks and followed up to 12 weeks. The clinical out- come measures included body weight,Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and the side effects of medications.Results:38 subjects completed the trial,20 in mirtazapine group,18 in SSRIs group. The weight gain in mirtazapine group was significantly more that that in SSRIs group at week 6 but the difference was not significant at week 12.The scores of HAMD and HAMA at endpoint were significantly lower than those at base- line(P0.05).No severe adverse events were observed in both groups.Common side effects of SSRIs were gastroenterological discomfort, while those of mir- tazapine included somnolence and weight gain. Conclusion:Mirtazapine can improve appetite and weight gain in pa- tients with anorexia nervosa in addition to relieve anxiety and depression. It is well tolerated and has ealier onset of effect than SSRIS.

Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(01):-
[Objective]To discuss surgical approaches, results and complications of ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament(OPLL)of cervical spine.[Method]The clinic data of 48 patients from 2000 with cervical OPLL were reviewed and analyzed.Eighteen of them were decompressed from an anterior approach and 30 from a posterior approach. The improvement rate according to JOA scoring system were evaluated, some relevant imaging examination data including X-rays,CT and MRI were also measured, which were taken preand post-operatively.Surgical complications were also recorded.[Result]Of 48 patients,23 had cervical stenosis, the mean occupancy rate was 41.4%,and 19 had the abnormal signal in spinal cord. The mean postoperative improvement rate was 68.3% in patients treated by anterior decompression and 51.3% in those treated by posterior decompression. There were 2 patients with dural tear,5 with segmental nerve root palsy and 2 with hematoma after operation.[Conclusion]Suitable operation methods should be chosen according to the location, extent and occupancy ratio of OPLL,which is important for avoiding complications and improving surgical results.

Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(19):-
[Objective] To discuss the prognostic factors for cervical OPLL treated by anterior decompression.[Method]A total of 48 patients with cervical OPLL,who underwent anterior decompression, were followed up for 1~4 years, with an average of 2.1 years. The patients were classified into a good-prognosis group and a poor-prognosis group according to the JOA neruologic scoring system.Age,sex,JOA score, duration of symptoms, diabetes mellitus,Pavolv ratio, occupying rate, type of ossification,CT double-layer sign, hyperintense areas, level of segments, and treatment of ossification were testified using multiple logistic regression analysis.[Result]Treatment of ossification was the only statistically significant factor predicting clinical results in this study.[Conclusion]It is the most important to resect the ossification and decompress the spinal cord thoroughly in the process of antarior decompression for cervical OPLL.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of rosiglitazone, the agent of highly selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ agonist, on the renal injury of rats with severe acute pancreatitis. MethodsFifty-four male Wistar rats were randomly (random number) divided into three groups : sham operation group ( SO group), severe acute pancreatitis group ( SAP group ) and rosiglitazone pretreatment group (ROSI group) . Severe acute pancreatitis model was induced by retrograde infusion of 5% sodium taurocholate into the biliopancreatic duct. Rosiglitazone (6 mg/kg) dissolved in 10% DMSO were injected into the femoral vein 30 minutes prior to the modeling. The solution of 10% DMSO was given to rats of SO group and SAP group. Rats were sacrificed 3, 12 and 24 h after modeling. The levels of serum amylase, serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, urinary albumin, urinary lgG and αl-microglobulin were measured and analyzed statistically. Kidney tissue samples were stained respectively with hematoxylin and eosin for histopathological evaluation. Results The levels of serum amylase, serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, urinary albumin, urinary IgG and αl-microglobulin were significantly increased (P < 0. 05 )after modeling, while lesser increases were found in ROSI group 12 h and 24 h after modeling (P <0. 05)compared with those in SAP group. ConclusionsRenal injury can be induced by severe acute pancreatitis, while Rosiglitazone protects rats from renal injury in the setting of severe acute panereatitis.

Objective To investigate the effect of endovascular cooling on perioperative brain injury in patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm resection. Methods Sixteen Hunt-Hess Ⅱ -Ⅳ patients of both sexes aged 18-64 yr undergoing intracranial aneurysm resection were randomly divided into 2 groups(n = 8 each): mild hypothermia group(group MHT)and nonnothermia group(group NT).A CL-2295AE catheter was placed in the femoral vein after anesthesia induction to perform endovascular cooling.Bladder temperature was reduced to 34 ℃ and maintained for 24 h.The hemodynamic parameters were recorded during and after operation.Coagulantion function and electrolyte levels were determined at 24 h before operation and at 12 and 24 h after operation. The serum neuron-specific enolase(NSE)and S100B concentrations were determined at 1 d before operation and at 1,3and 7 d after operation by ELISA.Neurological function was assessed with GOS grade at 1 and 3 months after operation. Results There was no significant difference in hemodynamic parameters, electrolyte levels(Na+ ,K+ ,Ca2+)and coagulantion function(PT,APTT,Plt)between the two groups(P > 0.05).The GOS grade was significantly higher, while serum NSE and S100B concentrations were significantly lower after operation in group MHT than in group NT(P < 0.05).Conclusion Endovascular cooling(34℃,24 h)can reduce the brain injury safely and effectively during the perioperative period in patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm resection and improve the prognosis.
