To observe the morphology of corneal endothelial cells after femtosecond laser in situ keratomileusis ( Femto-LASlK) .METHODS:From May to September in 2013, 88 eyes of 45 patients with myopia who accepted Femto-LASlK were enrolled in this study. The morphology of central corneal endothelial cells was measured by a non-contact corneal endothelial cell analyzer before, 1mo and 1a after surgery. The number, density, average size, size standard deviation, size coefficient of variation and hexagonality of the corneal endothelial cells were observed. All the measurements were analyzed by statistical analysis.RESULTS: All patients underwent operation smoothly, and no complication was observed during and after surgery; One month after surgery, the endothelial cell density (ECD) was 2815. 34±297. 07/mm2, which had a 2. 64% decrease compared with preparative ECD (t=4. 60, P= 0. 00), there was no statistical significance between ECD measurements of 1mo and 1a after surgery ( P>0. 05 ); One month after surgery, the size standard deviation ( SSD ) was 118. 47 ± 31. 58μm2 , which increased significantly compared with the preoperative SSD(t=-3. 87, P=0. 03), there was no statistical significance between SSD measurements of 1mo and 1a after surgery ( P>0. 05 );After surgery, the number, hexagonality, average size and size coefficient of variation of the corneal endothelial cells didn't change statistically(P>0. 05).CONCLUSlON: ln the early period after Femto-LASlK, the ECD decreased slightly, however this kind of surgery did not have significant harm to the function of corneal endothelial cells, and the surgery didn't cause the progressive loss of corneal endothelial cells.

The ideal treatment and recovery of osteoarticular injury remain to be resolved. Small intestinal submucosa (SIS), a naturally-occurring decellularized extracellular matrix, has been recognized as an ideal scaffold for tissue engineering and widely used in repairing various tissues and organs. Nowadays its application has also been gradually increased in the field of orthopedics. We reviewed laboratorial studies and clinical trails about the application of SIS in bone and joint repair, aiming to evaluate its effects on the repair of bone, cartilage, meniscus, ligament and tendon. SIS has showed promising results in repairing bone, meniscus, ligament or tendon. However, additional studies will be required to further evaluate its effects on articular cartilage and tendon-bone healing. How to optimize SIS material,is also a focused problem concerned with making SIS a potential therapeutic option with high value for orthopedic tissue repair.

Objective To investigate the distribution characteristics and risk factors of intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis ischemic stroke. Methods We retrospectively collected 342 consecutive patients with first-ever ischemic stroke. Clinical data was collected including demographics, the presence of risk factors,MRI with MRA and other routine admis?sion laboratory tests. Results Intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) was located most frequently in MCA (47.0%), Extracranial internal carotid artery was the most common affected artery (65.0%) among extracranial atherosclerotic steno? sis (ECAS). MetS (OR=1.586,95%CI:1.232~2.268), ApoB/ApoA1 ratio (OR=1.926,95%CI:1.051~4.288), were as?sociated with ICAS (vs ECAS), whereas hypertension (OR=3.603,95%CI:1.675~12.485), MetS (OR=2.268,95%CI:1.274~6.103), HbA1c (OR=2.015,95%CI:1.182~5.613) and ApoB/ ApoA I ratio (OR=1.948,95%CI:1.157~4.285) were related to ICAS (vs NCAS). Hypertension (OR=2.437,95%CI:1.492~3.505,P=0.005), Hcy (OR=2.437,95%CI:1.492~3.505,P=0.005) and HbA1c (OR=1.769,95%CI:1.034~3.121, P=0.005) were the independent risk factors re?lated to posterior circulation strokes (vs anterior circulation strokes ) in ICAS strokes. Conclusions The occurrence of ICAS may be more frequent than that of ECAS in ischemic stroke. Posterior circulation ICAS strokes seems to be close?ly associated with metabolic derangement.

We detected the isoniazid resistance in clinical Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates by high-resolution melting (HRM) curve analysis and assessed the application value of the assay. The isoniazid resistance of 49 M.tuberculosis isolates preserved in laboratory was analyzed by the drug sensitivity test (traditional proportion method).Further analysis was made on the sequencing of the isoniazid resistance determining region in these test strains, and their mutation sites were screened.Specific primers used in the HRM curve analysis were designed based on the screened mutation sites,DNA mutations were assayed in the isoniazid-resistant gene determining region by the HRM curve analysis, and an assessment was made of the detection efficiency of the assay in isoniazid resistance in M.tuberculosis.Results of the drug sensitivity test (proportion method) showed that,of the 49 test strains, there were 20 isoniazid-resistant strains,29 isoniazid-sensitive strains. Results of the sequencing analysis showed that:1) KatG gene had four mutation patterns,i.e.,point mutations at site 234,at sites 234 and 315,at sites 234 and 463,and at sites 234,315 and 463;2) there were three mutations were detected in inhA gene,i.e.,mutations in inhA-8,-15 and-152.Analysis of gene mutation in drug-resistant strains found that of the 20 isoniazid-resistant strains,11 (55 %) were mutated at codon 315 of KatG gene;6 (30%) were mutated in inhA-15 (4/20),-8 (1/20) and-153 (1/20) of inhA gene;two (10%) were mutated at codon 315 of KatG gene and in inhA-15;in one strain (5%),no mutation was detected in KatG and inhA genes.Through the gene mutation detection, the sensitivity and specificity of isoniazid resistance in M.tuberculosis were 95 % and 100 %,respectively. Results of HRM curve analysis of drug-resistance gene mutations in test strains showed gene mutations were present in 18 strains and absent in 24 ones;referring to DNA sequencing results, the sensitivity and specificity of the assay were 94.7% and 80%,respectively.Judged by mutations as drug-resistance via the HRM curve analysis,19 resistant and 24 sensitive strains were tested. With the drug sensitivity test results by the proportion method as controls, the sensitivity and specificity of the assay were 95 % and 82.76 %,respectively.Use of the HRM curve in the detection of resistance of M.tuberculosis to isoniazid is characterized by good sensitivity and short time consuming, and has certain value in the rapid diagnosis of isoniazid-resistant tuberculosis.
