2.Relationship between serum leptin and thyroid hormone in children with abnormal thyroid function
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(08):-
Objective To study the relationship between serum leptin and thyroid function by investigating the change of serum leptin concentration in children with abnormal thyroid function (hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism). Methods The levels of serum leptin was determined by radio-immunoassay(RIA) in 20 cases of hyperthyroidism, 17 cases of hypothyroidism, 25 cases of normal controls, respectively .Meanwhile, the serum levels of free triiodothyronine(FT 3), free thyroxine(FT 4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH) were measured by micro-particle-chemiluminescence immunoassay. Results The levels of serum leptin in hypothyroidism group before treatment was significantly lower than that of normal control groups (P0.05).Conclusions The levels of serum leptin in hypothyroidism markedly descend and no change in the hyperthyroidism. Thyroid hormone can promote the secretion of serum leptin eligibly.

Objective To study the early therapeutic principle of severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)complicated with intra-abdominal hypertension(IAH).Methods We reviewed 32 cases SAP complicated with IAH from January 2003 to January 2008 in our department. All cases' clinical features and early management were summarized. Results The intra-abdominal pressure of all the cases was above 15cmH2O.5 deaths occured in non-operation treated cases,6 deaths in the 11 operated cases, and all the dead cases reached the standard of ACS.Conclusions The uses of early individualized treatment can decrease the opportunity of decompressive operation,we can effectively improve the therapeutic effect of SAP complicated with IAH and reduce the probability of complicating with ACS.

AIM:To study and compare the outcomes of coaxial 2. 2 mm phacoemulsiflcation with conventional coaxial 3 mm small-incision cataract surgery.
METHODS: A randomized prospective study was conducted on 100 patients with age - related cataract:coaxial 2. 2 mm micro - incision cataract surgery was performed in 50 cases (50 eyes), and coaxial 3 mm small incision cataract surgery was performed in 50 cases ( 50 eyes) . Statistical analysis was takenwith the data of the two groups. Visual acuity, VF and QOL were compared at intervals of 1wk and 3mo after surgery. In addition, surgically induced astigmatism ( SIA ) was analyzed. Statistic analysis was taken by Student's t-test and Chi-square test.
RESULTS:There was no significant difference on BCVA (t=-1. 366, -1. 688; P=0. 148, 0. 107) between these two groups. One week and 3mo after the surgery, SIA was (0. 46±0.29)D, (0. 43±0. 26)D in the 2. 2 group; and (1. 55±0. 59) D, (0. 89±0. 28) D, in 3. 0 group. The differences between these two groups were statistically significant ( t=-7. 348, -3. 788; P = 0. 000, 0. 000 ) There were no statistically significant differences on VF scores between two group, while it's got a better score in 2. 2 groups on vision adaptation. (t=-3. 348, P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION:Coaxial 2. 2mm micro-incision cataract surgery could significantly reduce SIA and obtain morestable status of VF and QOL. This suggests that the coaxial 2. 2 phacoemulsification surgery implanted AkreosMI60 intraocular lens could get earliervisual rehabilitation postoperation.

Objective To investigate influence of nano-?-linolenic acid on expression of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in murine model with viral myocarditis (VM).Methods Eighty male Balb/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups equally:control group, model group, low and high dose intervention group.Mice in control group were inoculated introperitoneally with Eagle's solution.Every mouse in other groups was treated with 0.1 mL Coxsackie B3 virus(CVB3) intraperitoneally. Then, mice in low and high dose intervention group were treated with 60 and 180 mg/kg nano-?-linolenic acid solution for 1 week, respectively.Mice in control group and model group were treated with 9 g/L saline for 1 week. All mice were killed on day 15.The expression levels of myocardial MIF mRNA and protein were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry.Serum MIF concentration were exa-mined by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Myocardial histopathology was determined with hematoxylin and eosin stain. Results The mortality rate was 0,45%,30% and 20% in control group, model group, low and high dose intervention group, respectively. The mortality rate was significantly lower in high dose intervention group compared with model group (P
