2.Preparation of Cartilage Antitumor Component and Its Effects on Human Tumor Cell Lines

Cartilage antuumor component (CATC) was isolated from a 1 mol/L guanidine hydrochloride extract of bovine cartilage by acetone fractioned precipitation and superfiltration. Using human skin fibroblasts as a normal control, it was demonstrated that CATC inhibited the DNA synthesis of Hela, QGY7703 tumor cell lines and bovine artery endothelial cells, but accelerated the normal cells, when the concentration was below 1250 ?g/ml. At the concentration of 5 000 ?g/ml, CATC inhibited the two cell lines. With human tumor stem cell assay, CATC inhibited the stem cell growth of Hela and QGY7703 cell lines. These suggest that CATC has the effects of inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor cells.
3.A cross-sectional study of overweight and obesity among 7-22 year-old students in Zhejiang Province

Objective :
To understand the prevalence of overweight and obesity, and the influencing factors among students aged 7-22 years in Zhejiang Province.
Methods :
Stratified random cluster sampling was used to randomly select students aged 7-22 years in 11 prefectures of Zhejiang Province in 2019. Height and weight were measured. The general information, dietary habits and living habits of students were collected using the Student Health Status and Influencing Factors Questionnaire. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of overweight and obesity.
Results :
A total of 33 800 respondents were included, 7 685 (22.74%) were overweight/obese, 4 729 ( 13.99% ) were overweight, and 2 956 ( 8.75% ) were obese. The multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that boys ( OR=2.059, 95%CI:1.949-2.175), not living on campus( OR=1.306, 95%CI: 1.214-1.405), history of alcohol consumption ( OR=1.158, 95%CI:1.083-1.238 ), average daily consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages in the past week ( less than once, OR=1.214, 95%CI: 1.103-1.336; once and more, OR=1.431, 95%CI: 1.259-1.626 ), average daily consumption of fries in the past week ( less than once, OR=1.171, 95%CI: 1.065-1.288; once and more, OR=1.266, 95%CI: 1.102-1.454 ), and average daily consumption of sweets in the past week (less than once, OR=0.727, 95%CI: 0.658-0.802; once and more, OR=0.504, 95%CI: 0.444-0.572) were associated with overweight and obesity in students.
Conclusion
The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity among students aged 7-22 years in Zhejiang Province are 13.99% and 8.75%, respectively, which are associated with boys, not living on campus, and consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, fries, sweets and alcohol.
4.Effect of acupoint massage plus acupoint sticking therapy for the stress reaction during postoperative anesthesia recovery period in patients undergoing nasal endoscopic surgery

Objective:To observe the effect of acupoint massage plus acupoint sticking therapy for the stress reaction during postoperative anesthesia recovery period in patients undergoing nasal endoscopic surgery.Methods:A total of 120 patients undergoing nasal endoscopic surgery were included,and all patients were under trachea intubation and general anesthesia.The patients were randomized into an observation group and a control group,with 60 patients in each group.Patients in the control group received conventional anesthesia resuscitation,while patients in the observation group received acupoint massage plus acupoint sticking therapy on the basis of conventional anesthesia resuscitation.Changes in the heart rate (HR),systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were observed at three time points including the end of the surgery (TO),the removal of the tracheal tube (T1) and 10 min after the removal of the tracheal tube (T2).The awakening and tube removal time,choking cough and restlessness,and adverse reactions (dizziness,nausea and vomiting) in 24 h post-surgery period were compared.Results:At T1 and T2,the comparisons of HR,SBP and DBP between the two groups showed statistical significance (all P<0.05).Intra-group comparisons showed that the HR,SBP and DBP of the control group at T1 and T2 were significant different from those at TO (all P<0.05).There were significant differences in the awakening time and tube removal time between the two groups (both P<0.05).The incidences of choking cough and restlessness were 8.3% and 3.3% respectively in the observation group,versus 53.3% and 30.0% in the control group,and the between-group comparisons showed statistical significance (both P<0.05).The incidences of dizziness,nausea and vomiting in 24 h post-surgery period were 3.3%,5.0% and 0.0% respectively in the observation group,versus 43.3%,33.3% and 25.0% in the control group,and the between-group comparisons showed statistical significance (all P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupoint massage plus acupoint sticking therapy can effectively regulate the stress reaction during postoperative anesthesia recovery period in patients undergoing nasal endoscopic surgery,and maintain a stable internal environment.
5.En bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique for treatment of Cierny-Mader type Ⅳ posttraumatic long bone infection

Objective To investigate the results of Cierny-Mader type Ⅳ posttraumatic long bone infection treated by en bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique.Methods A retrospective case series analysis was made on 36 patients with posttraumatic long bone infection treated by en bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique from January 2013 to January 2015.There were 30 male and 6 female patients between 21 and 68 years (mean,41 years).Infection control,bone union,function activity and complications were detected after operation.Results After debridement in the first stage,a segmental bone defect of 5.5 cm in length (range,2-10.9 cm) was seen in all patients.Seven patients needed a local flap transfer to cover the wound and five patients had a second debridement.Mean duration of systemic antibiotic use was 2 weeks (range,1-6 weeks) and mean time interval of second-stage bone grafting was 12 weeks after debridement (range,6-36 weeks).Mean follow-up was 29.5 months (range,24-45 months).One patient had recurrence and was cured with radical debridement and a permanent acrylic spacers insertion,with the cure rate of bone infection of 97% (35/36).All patients achieved bone union with a mean duration of 5.9 months (range,4-8 months),and were able to walk independently.Thirty patients returned to work or pre-operative physical labor.No pain and re-fracture occurred.Six patients had adjacent joint stiffness.Conclusion En bloc resection combined with induced membrane technique is associated with radical debridement,decreased recurrence rate and limb salvage,indicating a simple and effective method for Cierny-Mader type Ⅳ posttraumatic long bone infection.
6.Determination of polysorbate 80 in Reduning injection by HGPC-ELSD.

OBJECTIVETo establish the method for determining polysorbate 80 in Reduning injection by HPLC-ELSD, and to control the mass of polysorbate 80 in Reduning injection.
METHODIt was performed by HGPC-ELSD with TOSHTSK-GEL G4000PWxl (7.8 mm x 300 mm, 10 μm). Water was used as mobile phase, the flow rate was 0.7 mL x min(-1), and the temperature was set at 30°C. The evaporated light scattering detector was adopted. The drift tube temperature was 55°C, and nitrogen was used as carrier gas, with the flow rate of 2.0 L x min(-1) and gain of 1.0.
RESULTThe calibration curve showed good linearity of polysorbate 80 in the test range from 1.01 to 15.20 g x L(-1) (r2 = 0.999 3). The recovery rate was 98.10% with RSD of 2.0%.
CONCLUSIONThe method is simple, rapid, accurate and reliable and suitable for the determination of polysorbate 80 in Reduning injection.

8.Resveratrol Attenuated Reactive Oxygen Species in Injured Endothelial Cells

Background Resveratrol has been unanimously recognized as an cardiovascular protective substance in red wine. It has been speculated that the anti-atherosclerosis effect of resveratrol is ascribed to its powerful anti-inflammatory effect. Objective To investigate the effects of resveratrol on injured human umbilical veno-endothelial cells (HUVEC) and the reactive oxygen species(ROS) production induced by TNF-? or soluble CD40L (sCD40L). Methods Cultured HUVEC were pre-incubated with resveratrol(1-50 ?mol/L) for 2 hours and then treated with TNF-?(10 ?g/L) or sCD40L?(10 ?g/L) for another 4 hours. 9.Dianosis and treatment of hepatic metastasis from gastrointestinal stromal tumor

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic metastasis from gastrointestinal stromal turnor(GIST).Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with GIST who had been admitted to our hospitalfrom December 1993 to May 2007 were retrospectively analyzed.Results Of all patients,14 underwent radical resection and 2 underwent palliative operation.Two patients with palliative operation and 3 with radical resection were administered with imatinib postoperatively. All patients were followed up for 3-161 months,and GIST metastasis and invasion was observed in 8 of the 14 patients who received radical resection.Of the 7 patients with hepatic metastasis.3 were treated with hepatic artery chemoembolization,1 was administered with imatinib,2 received reoperation and 1 did not receive any treatment. Reoperation was carried out on 1 patient who had abdominal wall metastasis.The 1-and 3-year survival rates of the 16 patients were 92%and 74%,respectively.Conclusions The recurrence rate of GIST after hepatectomy is high.Complete surgical resection is the best curative treatment for hepatic metastasis from GIST and GIST recurrence.The combination of surgical resection and imatinib administration may help to improve the prognosis of patients with hepatic metastasis from GIST.
10.Effects of resveratrol on the expressions of E-selectin and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 of endothelial cells

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of resveratrol on the expressions of E-selectin and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in activated endothelial cells.Methods After being pretreated with resveratrol followed by tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) stimulation, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were randomly divided into three groups: TNF group,resveratrol+TNF-α group and control group. The expression of E-selectin molecule on the surface of HUVEC was detected by flow cytometric analysis and the mRNA expressions of E-selectin and MCP -1 were determined by semiquantitative RT-PCR. ResultsTNF-α induced the expression of E-selectin and MCP-I of HUVEC.Resveratrol (10 μmol/L) inhibited E-selectin expression.The positive cells of E-selectin in TNF group, resveratrol + TNF-α group and control group were(47.84±3.2)%, (15.3±1.7)% and (3.74±1.6)%, respectively, and the differences among the three groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Resveratrol may contribute to the anti-atherosclerotic effect by inhibiting the expression of E-seleetin and MCP-1 of HUVEC.
