AIM: To discuss the application of overlapping ratio to the fingerprints of plant and plant extract. METHODS: We took the HPLC fingerprints of green tea and tea polyphenols for decision procedure. RESULTS: Overlapping ratio could be applied to selecting representative samples for characteristic fingerprints of green tea and tea polyphenols, and could be used to deduce the raw material, process and producer of tea polyphenols.(CONCLUSION:) Overlapping ratio can be used to choose the suitable samples for establishing the characteristic fingerprint spectrum, and can supply references to relationship investigation among products, raw material and process.

Objective To investigate the long-term protective effects of the waistband onto lumbar spins.Based on the practical situation,to search for some effective and convenient methods, such as wearing waistband and mutual massage,to prevent from lumbago for the army drivers worked in plateau. Methods 372 army drivers, young males, healthy and all worked in plateau, ware involved as the treatment group in the present study.Another 545 army drivers with the similar physical qualities, also worked in plateau, were selected as the control group. For the treatment group,a kind of special waistband was employed for the drivers, and mutual massage on hack of each other was performed among them;while in control group the army drivers were given no measures for lumbar protection and lumbago pre- vention. All the drivers in the both groups ware in normal driving conditions. The therapeutic effects of the waistband and the lumbago symptoms were investigated by epidemiologic survey 16 months later,Results The epidemiologic survey results showed that the incidence of lumbago in the drivers of control group(72.8%)was significantly higher than that in the treatment group(30.9%,P

Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(10):-
Objective: To develop a HPLC method for simultaneous determination of catechins (EGC、DC、EGCG、EC、GCG、ECG) and caffeine in tea polyphenols and to quantify seven ingredients in twenty nine batches of tea polyphenols samples from thirteen producers. Methods: The study was achieved using a C 18 column with a methanol water 0.1% formic acid gradient elution system. Results: The peak resolutions of seven ingredients in mixed standards were all above 2; The resolutions in samples were all above 1.5 except EGCG; The average recoveries were 98.56%~100.14%. Conclusion: This method is accurate, stable, reproducible and suitable for quality control of tea polyphenols; the variations of contents are obvious among tea polyphenols samples from different even the same producers.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(03):-
Objective Direct amplification of length polymorphism (DALP) as a new molecular marker was used to establish a set of stable DALP reaction system for the plants of Rhodiola L. Methods Some significant parameters of DALP reaction procedure were investigated and optimized by taking the DNA genome for the plants of Rhodiola L. as template. Results The reaction system was : 20 ?L reaction system containing 2. 5 mmol/L Mg2+ , 1. 25 mmol/L dNTPs, 60 ng DNA template, 1 ?L 5 pmol/L selective primer, 3 ?L 5 pmol/L reverse primer, selective primer: reverse primer is 1 : 3, and 2 U Taq DNA polymerase. Amplification program is 95℃ pre-denatured for 5 min, 94℃ denatured for 30 s, 50℃ annealed for 30 s, 72℃ extending for 1 min; after 30 cycles, and then 72℃ extending again for 10 min to the end of PCR reaction. Conclusion This DALP reaction system is efficient to identify the species and local populations for the plants of Rhodiola L. repeatedly with the stronger stability and reliability.

Purpose To evaluate the value of imaging on the diagnosis and treatment of human-infected H10N8 virus. Materials and Methods The chest X-ray and CT features of one case of human infected H10N8 virus were retrospectively studied. Results A 73-year-old female patient was admitted to the third affiliated hospital of Nanchang University on November 30, 2013 due to cough, sputum for 3 days and fever for 1 day. The patient was diagnosed with severe pulmonary infection and underwent chest CT on December 1, which showed large opacities with air bronchograms were in the lower lobe of her right lung and ground-glass exudative lesions in the lower lobe of the left lung;the next 24 h, 48 h and 72 h review tracking chest X-ray showed the chest lesions developed rapidly which involved more lobes with more areas, integration of lesions and plenty of pleural effusion in a very short time. This was a typical white lung sign of acute respiratory distress syndrome. The patient died later on December 6, which was reported as the case of human-infected avian influenza (H10N8 virus) by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Conclusion The chest imaging features found in human infected H10N8 virus present as progressive opacities and exudative lesions.

Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2011;10(2):110-112
Objective To explore risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with gallstone disease. Methods The clinical data of 429 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients complicated with gallstone disease (case group) and 2145 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients without gallstone disease (control group) were collected from the Health Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2007 to May 2010. According to sure (SBP), diastolic blood pressnre (DBP), fasting blood glucose (FBG), total cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-CH), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-CH) and body mass index (BMI) were statistically analyzed by fourfold table chi-square test or conditional Logistic regression. Results Univariate analysis showed that there was a significant difference in the levels of SBP, FBG, TC, HDL-CH and BMI between the case group and the control group (x2 =20.323, 4.365, 4.028, 7.049, 7.319, P<0.05). Multivariate analysis confirmed that SBP, TC, HDL-CH and BMI were risk factors for gallstone disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (x2 = 18. 047, 6. 905, 12. 884, 7. 557, P < 0. 05). Conclusion Increased SBP, TC and BMI and decreased HDL-CH may be the risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with gallstone disease.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2013;(10):771-774,779
Purpose To explore the correlation between fetal cardiac function and interventricular septal thickness in fetuses of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) mothers. Materials and Methods Thirty-nine GDM mothers were involved in the study and divided into group MH (fetuses of GDM mothers with interventricular septal hypertrophy) and group NMH (fetuses of GDM mothers with normal interventricular septal thickness). Ultrasonic cardiogram was performed for both groups to assess such variables as interventricular septum thickness at end diastole (IVSd), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular fraction shortening (LVFS), right ventricular fraction shortening (RVFS), the ratio of E and A of mitral flow (E/AMV), the ratio of E and A of tricuspid flow (E/ATV), peak velocity of aortic valve (VPAO), peak velocity of pulmonary valve (VPPA) and myocardial performance index (MPI). The results were further compared with those of control group. Results The VPAO, VPPA, LVEF and LVFS in group NMH were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). The VPAO, VPPA, LVEF, LVFS and RVFS in group MH were significantly higher than those in control group whilst the E/AMV and E/ATV significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). The LVEF, LVFS and RVFS in group MH were significantly higher than those in group NMH whilst the E/AMV and E/ATV significantly lower (P<0.05). MPI in group MH was significantly higher than that in group NMH (P<0.05), whilst both were significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05). The LVEF, LVFS, RVFS, VPAO and VPPA were positively correlated with IVSd (r=0.48, 0.51, 0.45, 0.30, 0.30;P<0.05). Conclusion Cardiac function in fetuses of GDM mothers may be associated with interventricular septal thickness.
